SouthGA were you in the stands for the Newnan/Grayson game? How did you see the game as a neutral observer…? I as a Newnan supporter thought it was one of the best games I had seen great defenses, big time players making big time plays.. your thoughts?

How did Cook Co. get this far in playoffs with just a 6-4 record. That has to have been a misprint which has been corrected by now. They would have had to play 12 or 13 games. Even though I am a Calhoun fan after looking at the writeups/records I think the # 1 team in Class AA may have beat another team tied for #1(-flip a coin) when Lovett beat Charlton Co. 35-32 last night.

GO PACK GO and Pack Daddy. I’m pretty sure this was finished on the field last night. You guys better move on to your next challenge. We are very proud of our team for moving this far into the playoffs. We are working on a winning tradition here. Look out for us next year. Like I said last night, in the meantime, we’re moving on to Lacrosse season where we OWN State Championships already.

When Camden goes up NORTH to play ball you guys never have anything good to say about us. So all we know how to do is to WIN and prove that you do not know what you are talking about. We don’t need home field advantage to prove we are a good team. We can prove that anywhere we go,by our fans, our Boys, our Cheerleaders, and our Band. Last night proved you Guys don’t have a clue, what was it? O YEA!!!!!!35 TO o CAMDEN HAS SPEED,AND FANS and above HEART.

My mistake, Cook Co. was 7-6 but at least two of those 7 wins had to be playoffs so were 5-6 coming into playoffs. Must have been #3 or 4 seed from their region which would answer my own ?

I believe the #1 team in AA beat the other # 1 team in class AA last nite when Lovett beat Charlton Co. 35-32 even though I am a Calhoun fan. I wish they were playing Buford next week.

I would like to congratulate Pridge on a hard hitting game in which they kept NSWR corraled most of the night, I did not think we had a chance the way we had played.I do give big props to Mosteller and Pike for winning the game, and Brison, of course. NSWR better get their offense clicking or there will be no Georgia Dome for them!

1st let me congradulate Camden, I’m now a beliver, I was way wrong on that one. Next, great win for Calhoun Yellow Jackets. They will have corrects some errors or it will be over, they have some talent and overcame mistakes for a big win. Cane Fan — Good game, now you guys have to decide how bad to you want it. 6AA is bringing the guns to the tourny and at this point its all about desire and errors. Buford and Lovett both have been here before, Calhoun is starting to get the hang of it I don’t think there could have been a better final four in AA. Now, how about a lucky coin flip.

Lassiter fans, thanks for the great atmosphere last night. After playing WestLake and Stephenson with their poor fan support, it was great to experience real playoff excitement. I assume that I saw Mason have what was, I’m sure, his worst game ever, but he is an amazing QB. I never felt comfortable until we were up 32-10. I hope he gets a shot at a big time college program. Good luck to your team in the future.

OK. That’s ONE coach from one town. That’s hardly to say that he went to Valdosta, COlumbus, Augusta, and Atlanta to get kids to come to WR. Buford, Marist, and Gainesville scour the state for talent regardless of who their coach is at the time.

The first week of the playoffs, I cautioned other teams not to under-estimate Colquitt County. They were the best team Lowndes played in the regular season. It will be a great game with Camden vs Colquitt. The winner should go on to win the championship. All those “you have never seen a defense like ours” from Atlanta got exposed over the past couple of weeks.Real defense is played by Colquitt,Lowndes, Camden and NSWR.

mlk fan #1 its in poor taste to critisize a team that has already ended your season. Calling what Newnan is doing luck and making excuses about not having this player or that player and complaining about the officiating is week. My definition of an excuse is a quiters way of trying to justify quiting. Now just set back and let the Cougars take care of their business win or loose we want be making excuses. The Cougars will play with Pride and Respect win or loose.

Great game! I think Grayson #36 and Newnan #51 had at least 10 tackles each. In the end it came down to Ogletree being the most athletic guy on the field. He caught the pass for a 1st down when it was 3rd an long. Then on the next play he caught the touchdown with one hand reaching over a grayson db. Then he blocked the field goal. WOW.
What did you think of big #36 ? on that touchdown he ran in it almost looked like they just moved out of his way.

David G., Wolverine Fan, ENR, etc. — Cool it, guys. Stop with the personal attacks on each other and keep it to football talk. You all make great football-related arguments; it’s OK to agree to disagree. David G., we’re removing your personal email address from this board. Please don’t post your personal email again. Thank you. ENR, we appreciate your enthusiasm but respect that others are entitled to their opinions, too. C’mon, ENR — you know better. Ditto Wolverine Fan. We’ve seen your excellent posts; show us more of those and less of the other type, guys. David, you’re making fine points but there’s no need to keep asking ENR when he went to NHS and if he played football. Let’s all move along and look ahead to semis. We at AJC Sports look forward to seeing what scenarios you all bring to the board — and that goes for everyone out there.
We’ve tried to lay off the past couple of weeks and let y’all have the board to yourselves because we’ve been really impressed at how the chatter has been football-centric. But we saw that we apparently needed to step back in. We’d really rather not.
If you see an “ETA” (edited to add) note under your post, that means you said something that crossed the line and we removed it. That’s a little first warning/hint that you should keep your comments to football and/or that you wrote something a little TOO personal aimed at another commenter on this board.
Keep it to football talk, everyone. The boards have been sensational these past few weeks. That’s what we want to see. Please don’t make us start going through each page of posts again to see who’s baiting who with personal attacks that are just masquerading as HS football chat.
Also remember that in a few weeks, once playoffs are over, this board shuts down until next football season. We move on to basketball. Here’s hoping you all enjoy the remaining time you have left to discuss HS football with us — without the petty bickering. As always, we truly appreciate those of you who help us keep these boards running smoothly by doing your part to keep the conversation lively and football-related.
Thanks for cooperating and good luck to all the teams headed to semis!

The morning after and yes the PR Lions lost, but it was not a blow out like you all predicted. To lose by a field goal in triple overtime, nothing to be ashamed of. Keep on under estimating the LIONS and we will keep on proving you wrong.

Thanks to all the PRHS fans who came down to support the school. We had a great showing. WE played a good game and unfortunately lost at the end. I believe we shouldn’t have sat on a one score lead. But I don’t call the plays.
Thanks to all the Northside doubters who have new found respect for our program. I was hoping Eagle might.

Awesome game grayram #36 was playing large much respect to your coach……. the fake punt the 52yd FG attempt…positioned Grayson to win the blocked Xpoint had me worried… Grayson’s defense played tremendous… they placed the offense in a position to win; even if Ogletree does not block the FG ………..this sir was a tremendous defensive game!!
I would expect Coach Conn and the Rams to win a championship in the next couple of years I hear the Coach is teaching young Rams in PeeWee league and middle school the offense!!! that is great when a coach cares about a program and community that way!! Hope that you will follow Newnan Kudos to you and your team….

inthatrenches: A good old fashioned defensive struggle. Yards hard to come by, especially on the ground. Several players stood out. Alec & Zander Ogletree, Newnan LB #51 (I’m sorry, I keep forgetting his name-senior moment), Shawn Green, Terry Williams. No matter where the Newnan-NSWR game is, it will be a war. Newnan to win & face Camden in the finals.

Newnan fans, that was one hell of a game huh? I would like to congratulate the cougars and wish them the best of luck against northside, every ram will be pulling for you. I knew this game would be low scoring and come down to a field goal. It’s just heart wrenching to end two seasons in a row like that. The halls will be very quiet on monday. Newnan has probably the best defense i’ve ever seen during my 4 years at Grayson, they’re big, fast, and tackle well. And alec ogletree is a god lol. Goodluck cougars, bring home state.

War Eagle 03: You’ve put a smile on my face this morning.
I can’t speak for what goes on at other schools, but I know for a fact that there aren’t too many D1 scouts scouring the St. Pius X campus for looks and/or film of our 200 lb lineman and 165 lb running backs. About the only people that get regular scholly’s from our school are the kickers.
ON LAST NIGHT’S GAME -
CONGRATS to Peach County for coming out on top of a well played, toe-to-toe defensive slugfest from both squads. Pius couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities and you guys hung in there tough and made it count when you needed it most. I believe that was the best fake and naked bootleg I have ever seen by your QB who showed a lot of poise in that OT goal line situation.
Your kids showed class after the game as well. Good luck to you in the Semi’s!

Lions Fan……..Only the foolish would underestimate Pridge ,I called a close one ,but I didn’t have 3 OT’s in mind…….Your kids really should still be playing , absolute Monsters on your D-Line and in the LB corp ….Amazing, completely shut our run game down , as for most of this season ,the Eagles bend don’t break defense kept us in the game. I knew if we kept it close Brison or defensive/special teams would make something happen……Man you guys should be real proud of those kids , the Ridge defense was dishing out some punishing hits..Eagles fans know the real deal when a team visits the MAC and the Ridge was real as it gets.
