Eagle Fan, Bring it all that does is motivate our kids. The future of Camden football is scary very scary. Lost 35 seniors from last years team. 21 playing college football at some level. This team is young and most will be back for 2 to 3 more years. Hope to have a good game against CC. We welcome the challenge.

Congrats to my alma mater NSWR..eventhough im still amazed that weve gotten this far due to the team being so young…even if we don’t go any further it still has been a fun season. As for colquitt and camden, i dont think ANYONE saw those scores coming…even i thought they would end up being close games especially with this being the playoffs and all, but hey it is what it is…

Ben, I will be the first to say that 5A is not superior to 4A, except in enrollment. I can’t stand it when posters disregard anything below 5A as inferior. So, I agree with you.

NOW YOU SEE WHY GHSA WANT CHANGE THE PLAYOFF FORMULA TO EVERY 7 YEARS. IF THEY HAD REGION 1 & 8,REGION 2 & 7 , REGION 3 & 6 AND REGION 4 & 5 PLAYING IN THE FIRST ROUND IN 5A. YOU PROBABLY WOULDN’T HAVE THAT MANY TEAMS FROM REGION 5 – 8 ADVANCING IN THE FIRST ROUND.

wow, just wow. good game camden county you are a good team but wow. im still in shock on how bad NG played. i give credit to camden for the things they did right surely. but WE played as charles barkley would say “turrible” wow that has to be the worst game we have played this decade. camden is a good team and could win it all along with every team left in it. i just wish i couldve seen the NG team ive watched all year come out and at least try to be competitive. CJ Uzomah should be cut from the team he was so bad tonight. he had no clue where the recievers were and threw every ball 20 feet over there head. camdens got a great wing-t and that #32 i believe is very fast.

VA Cougar….I know Groh is struggling but the chance to get a scholarship to play football and get an education at on of the top Universities in the US should be seriously considered. I think maybe 1% of all college athletes go pro so some consideration should be given to the level of the University. That’s my .02 anyway.

okay gotta make one more post

mike: PRHS Lions were a number 4 seed in 2006, played EVERY game on the road, and tied in the state title game to… a south GA school? no, Roswell.

like they say on MNF, Cmon Man!!!

to say that NG and Lassiter were overrated may be true, but tomorrow go ask anyone who watched the Grayson or PRHS game and they’ll tell you that the level of football they played was on par with their competition. in fact, ask any fan of one of the schools they played against (except for yourself), and they’ll probably tell you the same thing. congrats to tonight’s winners

Nah… Just number 1 in the state on the road that is all. Top 10 in the nation, and last week it was the best RB and one of the best D’s in the state, and just Valdosta prior to that. I don’t make the stats we just keep playing ball. All with a new coach and no returning starters on offense. We just flat out stink and don’t belong in the same breath as the other three. You better worry about your game next week and hopefully you will show up to the board next week.

Hey here’s something that you might find interesting… it’s from the Valdosta Daily Times sportswriter Adam MacDonald, who covers Lowndes games. He’s calling Lowndes on its practice of paying teams to come to Martin Stadium to play so the system can rake in more money, rather than scheduling tough teams on the road.
From the VDT:
“There are rumblings around town that the Vikings aren’t a good road team. This is the truth. Lowndes has now dropped its last three road games against top-10 teams (Grayson in 2008 and Northside and Camden in 2009).
The Vikings have become spoiled with home games at Martin Stadium. Take a look at this telling stat: Of the 13 non-region regular season games the 2009 senior class experienced in its four seasons, only three of the games were played on the road. Two of those games were at Class AAAA Ware County, and the other one was at Harrison.
Clearly, this team was not road tested.
Meanwhile, Peachtree Ridge, a perennial power in Class AAAAA, traveled to Lowndes the last two years! When I talked to Peachtree Ridge head coach Bill Ballard earlier this season, he told me that playing in Martin Stadium was a great way to get his team ready for the playoffs. He actually attributed that to his team’s postseason success in 2008.
Playing Ware County about an hour away from Martin Stadium is no way to prepare for Northside or Camden on the road.
Something has to change. Unless Lowndes wins the region every year, and gets lucky and wins multiple coin flips, they’re going to be on the road again.
Games at Martin Stadium are fun, but it’s necessary that the Vikings step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves.
Ballard told me Lowndes was interested in going to Peachtree Ridge in 2010. Bravo! This would be a step in the right direction. If the Vikings lose, so what? It’s out of region, and it’s not a playoff game.”

First Congrats to Griffin on a great game. If I somone said we would hold the Bears to 17 points on Offense, I would have said We would have a chance. Just no offense from us. Good luck in the semi finals. To the Chee players, great year and we are only a 10 year old school. We have something to build on. Great season 12-1. Probably still should end up in the top 5.

True Blue,

I said earlier this week that FB had a very good chance of beating CC tonight, partly because they play in the toughest region in AAA – region 7. But, I’m also going to say that their run will end here, because next week they play Gainesville, AGAIN. Last time they played, Gainesville destroyed them. FB is the best road team in AAA over the last 2 seasons, going 7-0. The only reason that a team from 7AAA loses next week is because they have to play each other. Otherwise, they would be playing for a State Championship. The only team that can beat Flowery Branch is Gainesville in AAA, unfortunately for FB, the only team that can beat Gainesville, is Gainesville. I stated at the beginning of the year that Gainesville would win state, and it looks like my prediction will most likely come true.

Once again, Colquit is an average team. The entire Colquit following was SCARED to death at Halford stadium last week because of the manhandling they were taking at the hands of those mighty Jaguars of Stephenson. Colquit has no true Offense nor Defense. That south Ga football mistique is a JOKE. If there were only 2 high schools per county in the Metro Atlanta area, then we would never hear about South Ga football. There is so much talent in the metro Atlanta area. Tell me how many players from these south Ga schools actually finish college or even go. These coaches use them up and are done with them, while all you have to do is turn your TV to an SEC game and there you will find numerous former Metro Atlanta student athletes competing weekly. Take your referees with you and go back down yonder.

I got a chance to see North Gwinnett for the first time tonight and I have to say, who ever called North Gwinnett’s defence dominant, what were you looking at? I also got a look at the Alabama and Tennessee commits, not impressed at all. Their O line could not deal with the speed rushers, causing CJ Uzomah to rush throws and try to run. Speed will neutralize a spread offense. Ask Lasitter, they got exsposed also. Camden only threw 2 passes and rushed for over 300 yds. The game of the week will be Colquitt and Camden. By the way Camden had their side full in the stands. They travel well and support their team. North Gwinnett was not a very big team, size wise, except the
