The Packers will be arriving a day early this week. Expect the Packers to be ready for this offense. They see it everyday in practice. Go Pack!

” Most teams have been forced to test the Rams through the air, though much of those efforts haven’t gone well against a secondary that is led by Kori Gaines’ nine interceptions”. GDP. Kori is due…but I’d rather see the Cougars try to run against us!!!

I know the Packers will be prepared as they do see almost the same offense in practice daily. However, they’ve never seen it run by such an impressive QB. Propst’s offense does not produce anywhere near the production Lassiter’s does. It is said, we have not seen a strong D before, however, I read on an AJC blog where Grayson students and fans were saying Roswell’s D was the best they’ve played against all season. Frankly, I wasn’t that impressed with them. I, again, think this game could go either way. Although, I would not get too excited about shutting Lassiter’s offense down. That won’t happen.

GOPACKGO That is also true. However, our defense practices against arguably the best offense in the state day in, day out. I think standard Wing T offenses cause us more problems than the spread. Good luck to all of the players and coaches still playing this week.

LHS, I don’t think Roswell’s defense was the best we have played against. They were very good especially as the last severl weeks of the regular season we were up against teams that were having a down year. We played some tough teams early in the year as well and I think some people might have forgotten the earlier teams. I’m sure the coaching staff and players know what is coming.

LHS I can say this. If we don’t win I will be pulling for Lassiter to win state. It’s boring to watch these running offenses play. I love watching high scoring games with spread offenses.

Everybody please believe NSWR will be ready to play Friday night! Peachtree Ridge has a great team but NSWR is Hungry to Shut peoples Mouth. People say NSWR has not played a complete Game, i disagree, every team that strives for protection has a lapse, and if you are referring to there loss to cross town rival Warner Robins, Coach Nix took full blame for that for sitting on the Lead, But that is the past and they are the only team i feel who is not looking to who they play next!,NSWR is focused on one thing and one thing only and it is not next week’s game, they are focused on Peachtree Ridge who most feel will eliminate the Eagles, but the Eagles think and play otherwise. Peachtree Ridge if you’re smart you’ll lay off the turkey and dressing this week because in the MAC we play Hard!, Hit You Hard, and Win Hard!!!

Alright. Either way, Lassiter is still in the hunt and I’m not sure, but they are one of only a few UNDEFEATED contenders. I don’t care who you played in the regular season…this is the third round of the playoffs and Lassiter has put around 130 points on the board vs. playoff teams thus far in only two games! Has any other team accomplished that?

Fred … thanks for the directions to Grayson. Like the comments you’ve been making except the one about…well you know Newnan losing. I’ve watched four films on Grayson and grinding out a score is what they do best. Roswell lost the game for themselves last week, the only reason Grayson won. Grayson will not explode against Newnan’s top of the state defense. Newnan will be passing all night long on the slow Grayson defense. It will be a tight game. However, whoever makes the FIRST mistake will lose. Can’t wait for the game….

Whatever, EAGLE 1, and the rest – Your creampuff overrated region was gonna send four teams to the finals last year, in reality none made it into the semis, two of the four were slaughtered and Lowndes was so humiliated they started a fight. That Wienie Robbins 10-0 loss to Grayson doesn’t mean you’re competitive with anyone, Grayson plays to win by ten. If they’re two scores ahead they’ll run three times and punt so their D can get some playing time. Obviously you couldn’t score so they didn’t need to score more than 10. Bottom line you’re only great in your own minds and when you play each other. You know what kind of regions have all these tough competitive games? The kind where no one is great, they’re all mediocre so they have a lot of close games, like Wienie Robbins – Northside Wienie Robbins earlier this year.

SouthGArules- I wasn’t trying to attack you, I’ve just been puzzled by the wide range of statements you’ve made on us. About Cameron Heyward, yeah, he was a freak. I’ve never seen such a dominant player and he will probably end up being a 1-2 round draft pick when he leaves Ohio St.

The Term “Peachtree Ridged”. I’d like to point out last year in the playoffs, Coffee County came to Suwanee and went home 38-0 (Who woulda thought that the backups, JV players, and even some Freshmen would play in the third round of the playoffs), we don’t have a term “Coffee County’d”, It can happen to any team on a long busride.

The NSWR-PRHS game. I am shocked by the 35-17 and 28-10 predictions. I’m pretty sure it will be a very low scoring game, as both teams have stronger defenses than offenses. I think Peachtree Ridge will come closer than 18 points of winning ;) , but I could be wrong if we shoot ourselves in the foot multiple times like we did at Lowndes. I think it will be a good game, I give NSWR the edge since they are at home, but I think the Lions will bring their A game and could definitely win if we we play our best.

I personally think Camden is the best team in the state right now. If they get through North Gwinnett this week, I predict they will win it all, and certainly make the Finals. (Sorry Colquitt/Lassiter).

Warhawk’s employer may want to submit his name for drug testing if he really thinks Apalachee will win the AAAA state championship. Apalachee’s Cinderella season comes to a violent and abrupt halt on Friday night when the superior speed, talent and tradition of the Griffin Bears come to Barrow County.

Friday night will be a bad night for Gwinnett and Cobb teams. Camden beats North Gwinnett. Newnan whips Grayson. Colquitt County takes down Lassiter. Northside downs Peachtree Ridge.

I didn’t understand how Lassiter, a team with a dismal football history, suddenly become a force. Then I saw that Coach Lindsey came in from Hoover. Not sure playing a region schedule with perpetually weak Cobb County schools has prepared the Trojans to go up against a South Georgia school that plays serious smash mouth football. He deserves many accolades for what he has accomplished, but I think the curtain is going to fall on Lassiter’s season.

Hoya Chuck,

I like some of your picks:

But Northside Warner Robins is too much for the Ridge. Take NSWR Eagles.
Camden County will run the table on North Gwinette.
Colquitt County Defense will show Lassiter what it’s like to get hit by that defense. Lassiter will not score the points that they have been scoring when they were playing against those Metro Atlanta teams. Ask Stephenson.Take the Colquitt County Packers.

Now Grayson is a different story. I believe that this will be a show down battle between the two. But Grayson will prevail.

LHS- none of the Packers play both ways. conditioning will not be a problem. im not reading that much into the scrimmage but from what other fans have been telling me, we matchup very favorably to Lassiter in terms of team speed and athleticism. i doubt the Lassiter players have gotten much faster and stronger in 3 months.

I just think Coach Propst has the edge over Coach Lindsey. plain and simple. im not really sure if i will be able to make the trip to Marietta since my family from North Carolina is visiting for Thanksgiving but good luck and i intend to watch the game on GPB if i cant go.

on a side note, i think this is North Gwinnett’s year. Hutson Mason is a great QB but CJ Uzomah is a monster with his arm strength and running threat.

the only time any CC players play both ways is when the offense is in the Wildcat package. we then use a couple of d-linemen as tight ends but 90% of the time they strictly play defense.

white trash, I was simply pointing out it is not Newnan defense that let them down in 08 and obviously he did not watch the first half?? cchswildcat is trying to cite history, when it does not apply….03 or 05?… I refuse to bring up old Cougar teams when addressing this team….
the history for this defense has resumed from last year they have returned the whole defense ,they are 25-1; that is current history….. the offense has 11 new starters that is Newnan’s weak point but for some reason the ghosts of 03 or 05 will haunt… in someone’s brilliant mind ??? LOL

How would these 17-18 year olds have ANYTHING to do with the 03 or 05 team? History is just that…… history…. look at any teams history…according to idiot logic… no one but Valdosta should win the state championship …….after all their history is greater than anyone else’s……..Oh wait Valdosta lost? justinfh88,

Sometimes its the offense and sometimes its the defense but at the end of the game its the total points that count. For what its worth, Roswell didn’t generate near the offense Grayson did. It happens. Some accept it and some don’t. I help coach some youth sports and have learned that the game is the sum of ALL of the plays. For every call you feel went against Roswell, there was another that went against Grayson – either an active call or a call that was missed. I felt the refs tried to let the boys play even though I didn’t like what they did or did not call.

I’m not sure what team you are for but if it is Newnan and you truly believe Grayson does not have a powerful offense, Friday night is probably going to be a long night for you.

hsfootball fan the 07 defensive squad had I believe 5 or 6 sophomores starting on defense the offense of 07 was the same (group) of seniors that graduated last year…. North Gwinnett had a great game and they were better on both sides of the ball…in 07….I acknowledge that… in 08 they met a tremendous defense….lets talk current…..Round 3’s opponent is strong as a matter of fact in 09 they have beaten Camden and Warner Robbins… It will be a great team Newnan will play and they have Newnan’s respect…

NEWNAN POP,

I left off one direction. When coming I285N from I20, do not take the Memorial Drive exit even though maps/GPS will direct you to. Go two exits north to the Stone Mountain Freeway exit and go east. It will be quicker and Memorial Drive has had its challenges in recent years. St Mtn Fwy will turn back into US78 and take you to Snellville and on to the stadium.

I think both teams are great teams. It is easy to say Roswell beat themselves but a good defense creates opportunities for itself and its offense as you well know. It is no secret that our middle pass defense has been less than stellar all year but they looked much better last week. I have watched our safety run people down when I did not think it was going to be possible. There were some size mismatches on the corners for us last week (where DOES Roswell get those big guys from? :) ) and our guys did really well. Yep, they got beat a few times but more often than not they made the play. I have said all along that I expect it to be a very hard and close game.

Talk about can’t wait for the game….. With vacation and holidays, today was my Friday and I’m ready for the game TONIGHT! :)

SanityRules,

I don’t know anyone other than perhaps a few overly enthusiatic students that think Newnan will be a walk in the park. I have a lot of respect for your program. I do believe in our program and I do think we have a good chance of coming out ahead. I have to believe Newnan’s supporters feel the same way. I expect to see a hard hitting close game. If it is a run away by either team, I will shocked. I won’t predict the final score but I am on record as saying Grayson by 3. I can’t wait for the game. Like Newnan Pop said, the team with mistakes loses. See you at the game!
