The PA about blasted my wife’s eardrums & she went to pressbox to get them to lower the decibles.
They did some & when she turned off her hearing aids, it was much better.

I agree the offense starts slow, and hey Grayson is strong at home….. but I think Newnan’s defense is not getting enough credit they (the defense has not allowed a offensive TD) in the playoffs and the two teams they have played were not weak….(just in case the weak region thing comes up) Grayson does not exactly light up the scoreboard either…… they definitely are a talented team but this one will come down to a turnover or a big play late….Just hope….. it belongs to Newnan

yeah South the Home side is too tight and too loud the teens that are there care more about being seen and heard rather than watching the game… I like the visiting side not because I am for them but that they are there for the game……I like the fan’s intellect a little better and you usually find that the fans are great…the seating is not cramped….. and I like to tell them that their boys played great win or lose… My favorite fans were from Camden last year…. they really support there team ….in 07 the North Gwinnett fans were great…

well cchswildcat86 if you are referencing the Camden Newnan game last year it was not the Defense that cost Newnan……… the offense turned the ball over and Camden’s first two TD’s were a drive of 18 yds and then the second came on a flukish 4th down play ….truth be told when Newnan scored in the third to make it 21-7 it should have been tied…Camden NEVER sustained a drive from their side of the field…. all night… again it was not the D…. you need to roll tape again….The defense from the last two seasons has been efficient proud and strong Newnan is 25 -1 since the Now head coach last year D coordinator has taken control of this ship.. if you are looking past last year your argument can not apply to these high school kids…..they are not 15 yr vets…. and this coach was not in place…their adjustments at halftime of each playoff game have been phenominal….I will tell you this if Grayson wins by two td’s it will not be because of the Defense!

Inthatrenches, why are you trying to reason with that idiot cchswildcat86? How many yards did Camden get in that game last year? That had a short field almost every time they scored. Our defense didn’t let us down, they were put in bad positions most of the game. Besides, that was last year. I hope North Gwinnett beats the crap out of Camden.

And beats the c*%p out of talking pro football, whose athletes don’t have half the heart of the young warriors we get to watch on Friday night under the lights.

No matter what is said about Northside Warner Robins, this was a team that many said that we could not play in 5A. I think that being region champs and going to state playoff both years. We have proved that we can play in any class and win. No matter what happens in the next few weeks. Our Eagles should be proud of what they accomplished in the last two years. We are proud of our Eagles and always will be. I hope we will be welcome back to 4A this year. Good luck Eagles we all support you.

cchswildcat86 what are you referring to? living in yesteryear???? 2005 this group was on the freshman squad…….. 2003 this group was in middle school, and PEEWEE…
2008 the Camden defense was excellent but the first TD camden had was when the QB fumbled the ball off his own leg….. the second TD was a pass from the 34 (a flukish 4th down play where #39 put a hit on the Camden receiver) the trailing receiver caught the dislodged pass out of the air hardly a designed play from Camden!!!! you obviously need to get YOUR glasses on and take your Camdens glorious past goggles off !!! these are kids…..but it is funny when you look back to a point differential but know absolutely nothing about the Game that was played and how that has nothing to do with the current teams play.. sir History is last week in HS sports…. it can change with the next group that comes in…. You sir…. like to talk and pull a score but do not consider this group has nothing to do with that history… look at this year!!!

The pre-season scrimmage where CC was declared the winner was shortened due to the storm. You were ahead when the scrimmake was ended but I am confident we would have pulled ahead.

thank you inthatrenches nobody else realizes how Newnan really screwed ourselves out of that game last year. WE LOST IT!!! We just screwed up that game and Camden is a great team but I honestly think we were better and should have one , but as shown they obviously played a better game. But yes, our offense was the root of our problem and really if we didnt freak out and start passing the whole game after trailing e would have been fine because our running back was doing great when we ran but our offensive coordinator when crazy and started pulling crazy plays out the wazoo and passing all the time. but oh well the newnan defense this year is sick and will hold up against grayson. Weve already seen a runningback more slippery than pemberton whether you believe it or not. Tay Willis and after his great performance against Newnan he got way more offers and notably one from LSU so yes that kid is good. Newnan will win 17-9. Down at the half well calm down and our offense will adjust. Grayson will kick a field goal and score a td but have an xp blocked.

Lassiter Fan- why were you confident that Lassiter would have pulled ahead in that scrimmage? our RB broke a 75 yard TD on our first offensive play. we ran a kick back for a TD and blocked a Lassiter punt. there was nothing to suggest that Lassiter was on the brink of making a comeback from being down 2 scores…
the scrimmage doesnt mean much but it did allow everyone to see Lassiter’s weaknesses. 1. Lassiter’s defense is soft up the middle. 2. they have horrible special teams play and do not cover kicks well at all…looks like we might have some big kick returns this week like we did against Stephenson. 3. we can get pressure on Matson by just rushing 4 down linemen.
im sure Lassiter is better than they were in the scrimmage but so is CC. the fact that CC’s defense held Lassiter to 14 points in 3 quarters still says something about how Lassiter can be stopped.

Colquitt County Underdog:
I was impressed by Colquitt’s special team’s play against Stephenson, but don’t think that in any way relates to the scrimmage. For one, Lassiter didn’t have any of their starters in on special teams. It was all JV and freshmen. That won’t be the case this Friday. Also, I wouldn’t read into the blocked kicks too much since Rush was rushing kicks even after both teams agreed not to. Lassiter wasn’t prepared for it. Maybe not much of an excuse, but it wasn’t even a real game.
You wanna talk about weaknesses? How about the fact that Colquitt’s DBs got beat deep multiple times in that SCRIMMAGE. You know how much I’m reading into that? Nothing at all because it doesn’t mean anything come Friday.
You Colquitt folks need to get over that scrimmage because none of it matters. No, it doesn’t tell you how Lassiter can be stopped because the starting receivers weren’t even decided at that point. Lassiter took a few games to find out who their playmakers were going to be. I mean, come on, Sprayberry held them to 14 points and they did it in a full game. Does that mean Sprayberry has a better D than Colquitt?
I really do hope you guys think you’re gonna have an easy time with our defense. Yea, North Forsyth and SG might have put some points up, but don’t forget that both those games were pretty much over by halftime. Much of the scoring was their starters against our backups.
As for our kick coverage, it is far from horrible. But your return guy is just nasty. If all those D-1 athletes from Stephenson couldn’t contain him, our slow unathletic white boys from Cobb County sure cant. Luckily we have a secret weapon. Coach Lindsey. He is coming up with a plan to contain him.(I’ll give you a hint–it involves not kicking anything within 20 yards of him.)
Have a safe trip up and come by the tailgate!

Just wanted to discuss the Lassiter vs Colquitt game.
After watching many Lassiter games as an adult, I have come to the conclusion that it does not matter what caliber athletes the other team has on their defense. It is a no huddle system designed to catch defenses off balance and allows for many big plays. The only way I don’t see Lassiter scoring 40+ points from here on out is if a team brings a defensive line like Lassiter has never seen. If they don’t apply pressure on Mason he will pick any high school apart. Mason has a great pocket presence as he feels pressure very well, keeps his eyes down field, and has the ability to get downfield.
Also, relying upon the results of the Colquitt Lassiter scrimmage is not a wise move. Early mistakes and missed assignments restult in opposing big plays. Clearly, both teams have improved in that regard. Unless Colquitt employs the same style offense as Lassiter I just don’t see how they can keep up outside of forcing turnovers on a routine basis.
On a side note, I want to make it clear that I dont know anybody on the team and I am adult looking at this from an unbias point of view.

The defense has done a good job creating turnovers from what I have seen. It seems like every game starts off with the other team turning the ball over and getting behind early. The defense is underrated in my eyes. For instance, they gave up 49 points last week but only after Lassiter was way out in front and the JV squad played most of the 4th quarter. I believe they gave up 14 in the first half. The rushing defense seems to be pretty good between the tackles. They lack the athletes in the secondary as far as I am concerned.

North Gwinnett over Camden County. (Home field important in this one)
Lassiter over Colquitt County. (Lassiter “O” too much for CC “D”)
Grayson over Newnan. (This one could go either way. Home field a +)
Once again, I may be as wrong as a soup sandwich, but my picks are as good as any!!

Reeze’s Pieces………Colquitt @ Lassiter……..First, of all forget about a shootout with the Pack , Colquitt’s defense won’t allow it..Colquitt’s defense is Not South Gwinnette. Second lets not forget about Colquitt’s offense ,any team that gives up 49 is suspect J.V playing or not…..Not the type of defense that will shine against Colquitt. Now I am not the smartest in the world ,but if I were Propst I would make every effort to keep the ball out of Mason’s hands ,I think we’ll see ball control from the Pack……Ferguson may put up 300 plus all pourpose against this defense of Lassiters………Colquitt by 10…………Pridge @ Northside…………Hadn’t heard many nice things about the Ridge ,But as always they are good in the playoffs….. This one could be a close one ,It all depends on how many mistakes the Eagles will make or not Make…Northside’s offense has put the defense in so many jams this season it’s not funny…….Northside defense is solid and has bailed the offense out all season long……Mistake free ball is needed for the Eagles to win ,If we come out like we did vs U.G and Chapell Hill the Eagles season will be over ……..Northside by 6 in a defensive battle……..Newnan vs Grayson….. 0 points in the first half against Valdosta and MLK ,I don’t think this will work against Grayson…I think Newnans only hope is if the passing attack is good ,if not , the Newnan first half sluggish offense will put them in a hole that they won’t recover from…….Grayson by 10………Camden @ NG……..The determining factor for this one : Can NG stop Days and the wing -T of Camden.. I am sure Camden’s defense will put a hurting on any of the remaining playoff teams……..But how is Camdens pass defense?…………Can’t call this one ,it’s a toss up

It is true that we have had special teams breakdowns with kickoff coverage. This can and will be corrected. Also, the silly turnovers on our end of the field must be corrected as well. Without the interception and kickoff return, Union Grove would have been shut out. As long as we don’t beat ourselves, Peachtree Ridge will go home unhappy. NHS 28 PR 10.

Good description HSF Talk. Furthermore, our JV offense also played the entire 4th quarter against S. Gwinnett’s starters, therefore, drives stalled and the ball ended up in S. Gwinnett’s hands more often than normal. I believe the JV offense could have scored on them, but it appeared Lindsey’s play calling became very conservative. Our JV QB is awesome too. I’ve seen him play in regular season JV games where he’s thrown for over 300 yards by halftime. Lassiter is pretty deep on offense. I hope this is a sign of good things to come for the next several years. We’ll see.

The PRIDGE deal is strange this year. Have not played a clean game as far as ball handling in weeks—yet they win.NG same senerio–could have gone either way.the defense has notgiven up any offensive TDs the past two weeks. ( only one to NG after turnover)They probably are the least respected of the remaining eight–that s not a bad spot to be in.Everyone equates there season to the disaster at Lowndes—so short sighted. IF they can play a complete game –they can beat anybody remaining —as tough as it is to go on the road—–oh wait they did that as 4 seed 5 straight games in 06. All being said they win a close one if they win the tunover battle, if they do what they did against Kell and Brookwood NSR is in the clear. Gotta love being the underdog at playoff time.

From the Moultrie Observer. Offenses seem to be the same. It’s gonna be a great game.
Packers coach Rush Propst, who coached against a Tim Tebow-led team several years ago, says Mason will be the best quarterback he has faced.
“He’s got a cannon for an arm,” Propst said. “And he plays with such confidence.
“And with those numbers, I think he’s the state player of the year.”
And Propst rejected the idea that perhaps the Packers might be able get inside Mason’s helmet.
“He doesn’t rattle,” he said.
Still, the Packers hope to be able to pressure Mason much as they did Stephenson quarterback Jordan Tarver in the 22-21 playoff victory in Clarkston last week.
Tarver threw three interceptions, including two in the deciding fourth quarter.
His other, which came with Colquitt County defensive end Quan Daniels hanging on to him, was intercepted by William McCrary and returned for a second-quarter touchdown that tied the game.
And the Packers should not be surprised by much of what the Lassiter offense throws at them on Friday.
The two schools met in an abbreviated scrimmage in Marietta back in August in which the Packers led 24-13 when the game was called in the third quarter because of lightning.
And the two offenses use the same playbook and terminology, Propst said.
“They use the exact, verbatim offense we use,” Propst said. “It’s a carbon copy.”
