dakotah i dont think so. the last team to beat us at home was last years preseason game against the #1 team in the nation byrnes south carolina. we were winning at halftime and we play very good at home. Camden is a good team no doubt but they arent gonna beat NG at home period.

i just dont see where camden outmatches North Gwinnett THIS year. we have a monster Oline and very good Dline. qb? i doubt it because we have a hotly recruited c.j. Uzomah.

Suwanee has 3 high schools. NG PTR and Collins Hill. all 3 schools have at least 2500 students. it is a well to do area but i believe that Gwinnett County helps pay for football stadiums while programs must cover lights and seating and such.

WHOA! you held Grayson and their high powered offense to 14! Geez we might as well forfeit because grayson has such a great offense and all. they only have a high offensive average because they play terrible defenses the whole year. look at how theyve done in the playoffs 21 points each game against mediocre teams.

Dakotah, I am a Newnan fan and I don’t have a dog in the NG/ Camden fight but have they allowed the guys from last year’s team to come back? Last year has nothing to do with this year. Sharpen up your arguments. I know you have a good team but harping on a loss to Grayson and last year’s team won’t help you Friday night.

lowndes!!! the road team that continually sucks it up on offense against any semblance of opposistion. listen camden is a good team they really are but they are not the best in the state this year. this week will be an indicator whether South GA still runs football.

First off .. Congratulations to Rockdale County. You played like we have all season and outplayed Hiram. I do feel these 2 teams were almost identical and if played again could easily be the opposite score. Your nose man and DE and two of the best we have seen this season and took us out of our game. Make us proud and show the rest of the state that Regions 7 & 8 are no flukes abd DO deserve respect. Oh yea .. So sorry Region 6-AAAA. Not as good as you thought. Cannonrules .. you are correct. We lost our composure for the first time this season and it showed. But we are proud of this group of guys .. What a run this year and they made us proud to be a part of this incredible 11-1 season. It’s on to 2010 now and this team only loses 14 seniors with the complete backfield returning. Like a player said yesterday, we have unfinished business. So watch out realigned 7-AAAA. Next years senoirs had a goal when they were freshman .. Undefeated thru 4 yrs. 9th – 7-0; 10th 4-4 but the complete backfield moved to varsity; 11th 11-1; Senoir year – Run to the Dome. Hey Cannon … We’re here and it will be interesting.

Thats the dekalb county football picture all of these schools compete amongst one another for students and on top of that rezoning frequently occurs so its good just to have a winning season in Dekalb. All of our athletes are spread out something has to change or we wont see any state titles.

Good defenses make offenses look bad. Interceptions and fumbles rarely just happen all by themselves.

Sometimes a good offense that can only score 7 points or worse 0 points is not the fault of the coaches or players. Sometimes low scoring games occur because the other team just played great defense. Maybe it was bad coaching to go for it on 4th and short 5 times, but I am pretty sure it was good defense that stopped the team from making it on those 5 forth down attempts.

I can say that this season, any team that comes to North Gwinnett expecting to win, may not be all that happy when they leave.

I will refrain from commenting on the impression that Sugarloaf moms have left upon the rest of the county when they attend athletic events other than to say that I guess it sucks when they find out that money cannot buy intelligence, class, or athleticism.

I love it when people continue to doubt CAMDEN, every year we go through this, we are never favored so it doen’t matter. I will say this again, this is not the same team that lost to GRAYSON at the beginning of the year. NG, has not seen a team with the speed of the WILDCATS. BullDawgBite your team played two easy games in the playoffs. Two teams without much playoff history. Shout out to Woodstock great season. Very different type of football players you will see this week. A lose is a lose, but two different calls and CAMDEN would unbeaten also. And yes this is a different team, but we went through the same thing, before the Newnan game last year. HOW ABOUT THIS, WE JUST COME UP, PLAY THE GAME AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. OH YES I WILL BE THERE.

In Gwinnett County, the County builds a basic stadium for each school. Unfortunately, with all of the growth in Gwinnett over the last 30 years, the Board of Education has 2 responsibilities: they have to educate the kids, and they have to build schools on time and on budget.

The Gwinnett County BOE has become very proficient at building schools on time and on budget. Unfortunately, they have discovered they can create a lower building cost per student by building large schools. This may be good for budgets and football teams, but such large schools are not really good for education. The County has struggled to keep educational quality high despite the huge schools.

But the taxpayers do NOT pay for extracurricular activities in Gwinnett. Band members must buy their own uniforms and secure their own instruments. Football players at North pay a huge fee to play to cover the cost of equipment, uniforms, training camp, and a variety of other costs. Swimmers pay a large fee that rents pool time for practices and swim meets.

And the County does NOT pay for lavish stadiums. In several cases booster clubs have taken out huge loans secured by future gate receipts and donations to improve their facilities.

Since North is an older school there is a well established charitable organization that looks after the needs of the school. The “NG Foundation” provides things like computers, books, instruments, and many items to help with both academics and athletics. Even a simple thing like paper, would be in short supply without donations from parents.

The new stands were donated by a generous patron. The Jumbotron/Matrix Board was donated by a generous local family. North has a first class weight training facility that was financed by the booster club, and this was about the time that North started moving from mediocrity to excellence in the football program. The same sort of thing happens at Parkview, Brookwood, Collins Hill, Peachtree Ridge and all of the Gwinnett Schools. The community pulls together to help the kids in many ways – not just football.

I doubt the community would be so generous if they knew their money would just go into a general fund to be shared among the schools.

BullDawgBite;; Oh One question why don’t you guys win more. You have in Gwinnette Co along, more schools in AAAAA, than we do down south combined. The odds are in your favore. You should with all those schools, Out of the 32 AAAAA in the play-offs only 8 are from the south.. But we win most of the titles.

Footballer, you asked a little bit ago who NSWR key players were. Believe it or not the really good RB is Shaquille O’neill (could be O’Neal) and the QB is Briar Van Brunt. Anybody with a QB with a name like that has to be respected, and he runs and throws pretty good. BTW, dakotah, this is a HS football blog and you are texting like it’s a phone. It’s driving me crazy !!!! Could you please treat it as such and stop with the immature stuff also.

This why they play the games, SGT CHRIS, VA Cougar you all are bringing back some fond memories from the ‘78 and ‘79 seasons while I was at GHS. The old 6AAAA was nothing but good old fashioned hate. The fondest memory was beating Morrow for the region championship in ‘79 after losing in the regular season to them. Then the fifth quarter brawl that broke out afterwards…..ah, the memories. That brawl was the best 10 seconds of game film we saw. Good luck to all the teams continuing and congrats on a good season to those that lost.
