ecomguy – Pius was leading 17-3 when I left with about 5 minutes to go in the game. Pius had the ball with the game well in hand. I know they won because the bells were ringing when I got to the car but I’m not sure if 17-3 was the final score.

Underdog it’s easy to say great game when you won. Flags change the out come of games. I agree the kicks are bad, but calls change the game especially when they are one way 3 points an the game is different? Look at the drives Stephneson had they all were overcome by flags?

I just want to give a shout out to my boyz at North Clayton for their win over Brunswick 21-12. Let’s acknowledge a N. GA team went down to Brunswick got it done in South Ga. I hate that SWD lost because I wanted to see North Clayton be the team to wip up on SWD. Don’t know now who will get home field between N. Clayton and Clarke Central because both are #2 seeds from their regions.

No question winning the state title is something. Congrats to all teams who advanced. Lowndes got a bad draw and untiil they play well on the road, this will happen to them every year. You are right the playoffs are more important then the season. Just don’t think anyone can say anything about Lowndes being overrated when they DOMINATED Peachtree Ridge and Colquitt who have both advanced.

When do Stephenson admit that despite all the talent, the head slaps, the celebrations for regular plays, all the hype, that it is the more disciplined team that most often wins? The excuses from Stephenson are endless – flags, bad calls, whine, whine, whine, and it is no different this year either.

May step on some toes here, but the QB whom the Lassiter QB broke his record was from Charleton Co a few yrs. back. Personally never heard about him again. Does anyone know what happened to him? Record-breakers don’t always turn out.

DeKalb County posters please do not bore us with your tireless excuses. Stephenson choked. Tucker choked. Southwest DeKalb choked. Martin Luther King lost. I have told you guys many times. DeKalb County teams regularly underachive and the coaching is questionable at best.

Before one person writes a post giving me the business about about DeKalb County football, please tell me what the Stephenson staff was thinking when they sent the kicking team out for a PAT while leading 20-19 late in the 4th quarter.

I am shocked that anyone can lead a program like Stephenson while making such boneheaded calls. It is amazing and more of the same with programs like Stephenson. Stephenson should have gone for a two point conversion. Colquitt County could not stop their amaingly talented running back. The game would have gone into overtime. Everyone knows that the home team has an overwhelming advantage in overtime.

If it were not for Randy McPherson, Ron Gartrell would have his name etched upon the Buck Godfrey Award.

I am a huge football fan from south Ga. and in my 60’s now…..have seen more HS and college games than i want to admit…..I would HATE to be coach Gartrell and be in the stevenson dressing room after the game tonight trying to explain to my players why I decided NOT to go for 2 when they scored late to go up 20-19…..KNOWING Colquitt Co. had one of the best field goal kickers in the state!!!

Stevenson is LOADED with talent…but they have to be the WORST disciplined and most poorly coached team I have EVER seen!

Dont know how many of you are familiar with coach Probst’s coaching history at Hoover in Ala., but he took over a Colquitt county program that was in shambles. In only his second year he has far exceeded expectations…we honestly did not expect to make the playoffs this year! Watch out for the Packers for the next few years!

Congrats to the team and coaching staff! GO PACK!!!!!!

Valdosta, you can crow all you want about a 51-17 win during the 2nd game of the season. You’re the one that was doing the bragging, and not doing Lowndes any favors by doing so.

Colquitt County Underdog

10:46 pm

what flags are you talking about? the obvious intentional grounding penalties? or maybe the obvious false start when the Stephenson right guard jumped 5 yards before the snap? like i said, when you are a fan of a team that was cheated out of a DOWN because the refs cannot count 1,2,3,4…then you come talk to me about questionable calls. you are trying to argue judgement calls…that is left to the eyes of the beholder…the refs.

Stephenson QB threw 3 INTs, one returned for a TD…Stephenson has no solid passing game. they drop a TD on one drive…

I can’t remember the last time I real team or even a movie made about a team that’s smug because they lost in the second round but beat a team that advanced early in the season. I look forward to the N. Clayton-Clarke-Central game. Both have done well on the road this weekend. Clarke was especially impressive, although Buck Godfrey’s teams more often than not underachieve. I’d like to have N.Clayton and Griffin advance as far as possible. Not familiar with the brackets. Can that possibly be a title game rematch?
