PRHS 21 – Brookwood 6

Brookwood played hard until the end, and credit them with forcing a lot of turnovers (4 fumbles and 1 INT I believe), otherwise the score may have been worse. Lion defense looked VERY sharp, Brookwood’s only points were on the INT return

Boy, Region 1-AAAAA is rolling!

- Northside 21, Union Grove 10. FINAL
- Colquitt County 19, Stephenson 14. 4th Quarter
- Lowndes County 49, Camden County 21. 4th Quarter

It appears that 3 Region 1-AAAAA programs, at least 2, are about to reach the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. You guys can forget about telling us that football in this state is close to the level of play south of the Gnat line. Forget about it. Region 1-AAAAA programs are going on the road and winnning!

Go Eagles! :-)

This makes two years in a row that Lowndes has underachieved.

I wonder if they’ll go after Rick Tomberlin.

I think the Lowndes fans were the ones defending Camden for playing in a weak region yet coming to play in the playoffs. Lowndes knew the game was going to be tough. Home team had the advantage in this game. Just an unlucky draw for 1 AAAAA #2 seed to have to travel to Lowndes in the 3nd round. Don’t think anyone else could have beat Lowndes. (I am not a Lowndes fan by the way)

The Jags strike back.

Stephenson 21, Colquitt County 19.

OK, metro Atlanta posters, especially those from DeKalb County. Explain this to me. You are Stephenson. You go up 20-19. Why would you not go for a two point conversion? This is why people question the coaches in DeKalb County. That was wildest thing that I have ever witnessed.

By the way, of course, the scores are inaccurate with the clowns on the GPB. They said the Lowndes-Camden score was 49-28. They were repeating the wrong score.

Sorry Camden County posters. I was watching the Stephenson-Colquitt County game and the guy said that Lowndes had 49 points. I should have known that no one is going to put up 49 points at Wildcat Stadium. That is impossible.

Looks like Gwinnett will have 3 teams in the third round and 1-AAAAA may have two. Looks that way. NG and Peachtree Ridge for sure, Grayson ahead. Colquitt up on Stephenson, right?

Colquitt County 22, Stephenson 21. 4th Quarter, 2:22.

Please…please, someone from DeKalb County explain to me the thinking on the Stephenson sideline. These guys would be in over their heads against a middle school high school coach in Warner Robins. I thought that it was simply textbook that should you trail by 5 and score a touchdown, you go for the two point conversion to take a 3 point lead.

The rocket scientists running the Stephenson program, who have some of the best athletes in the state, decide to kick a PAT to take a 2 point lead. Colquitt has a huge kickoff return and kick a field goal to take a 1 point lead.

It makes me think of those beer commercials. BRILLIANT, Stephenson!

Thanks, Meanwhile. Smallest school in AAA 10-0 each of last 2 seasons. Unreal. My ‘83 team was first Jackson playoff team in 19 years. R.E. Lee, Mary Persons, and Manchaster used to rule the old 3-AA when I played. Weird to see Jackson so good for the last 10-12 years, and trouncing Mary Persons most years. Go Red Devils!

Jcwfalcon: I got the score update from these guys on Georgia Public Broadcasting. I should have known that those guys were clueless. They talked about how the score was just 10-7 and how fast Lowndes puts up points on the board.

Sorry. Those watching this great Colquitt-Stephenson game can tell you. They later came back and said that was the Lassiter-South Gwinnett score. I should have known that no one was going to put up 49 on Camden County at Wildcat Stadium. NEVER!
