Okay, I have said this over and over and over and over again. I said that I am a Region 3-AAAAA Bradwell Institute and Region 3-AAA Liberty County Fan. I make no excuse for them losing, and neither make no excuse for then winning. When they are not in the Playoffs I pull for their Region, and i also pull for South Georgia Teams. I am from South Georgia. Now I hope that answers your question. Now, I have also said that Stephenson has a great team especially how they mopped the filed with Bradwell Institute, however; this is what I saw. I see speed from their quarter back and running backs. That is a plus for Stephenson. However; they lack discipline. They acquire a lot of penalties, and you will not win a game over Colquitt County like that. The ONLY chance i give Stephenson is that they commit no turnovers, and no penalties. Other than that, I believe Colquitt County will prevail.

GO UG! and big j. Let’s watch them bring on a victory. I’ll be there shouting it out loud and clear.

I do think Coach Propst and his staff are much better than the underachieving coaching staff of Stephenson.

Suwanee 0wnz- Agreed about Lions. I hate to say this, but the past few weeks P Ridge has played pathetically. To be honest, we haven’t played a GREAT game since North Forsyth (Game 4 of our season). North Gwinnett was a game we should have won, and won by AT LEAST two scores, but we threw that game out. Literally, we beat ourselves, then again, we’ve gotten pretty good at that. I felt like the players played really well for the first time in a while against NG, but bad playcalling ruined it for the players (Ballard doesn’t call offensive plays). It is SOOO frustrating to know you have the athletes to win it all, but not achieving success. Our offense in general is pretty pathetic, I think we should give up our Flexbone Triple Option offense and switch to something that’s less predictable, and more balanced. But I doubt that will happen, next year we’ll probably be stuck with the same thing. That is my honest assessment of the situation, hopefully no one gets too offended

However, Herron said a move to Region 1-AAAAA would “absolutely destroy” other sports like basketball, baseball and softball. Because of the 100 mile rule, those teams would be forced to play all of their region games on Fridays and Saturdays, because high school teams are not permitted to travel over 100 miles for games on school nights. None of the teams projected to be in Region 1-AAAAA for the next four years are within 100 miles of Kingsland.

I’m not suggesting a “beating” per-say. I said what I mean, and I mean what I say. There absolutely no doubt, that if what I mentioned in my earlier comment about Stephenson what will happen. Are you having doubt?

Have you read my previous blogs? I make no excuse for losing and make no excuse for winning. I will stick with my teams win or lose. At this point, I don’t care where the game is played, it will definitely be a tough game. Your players have a lot of talent, and speed. But it appears that they do not have discipline. Well at they very least to cut down on gross penalties. Colquitt County plays very well discipline ball. For you all to think that Stephenson will just beat Colquitt County is just ludicrous.

Remember Atlanta you started out as you do every year with a 3-1 advantage.

So lets see, Atlanta gets the most teams in the playoffs with a 3-1 advantage and they get the much greater advantage of less travel compared to S.Ga. teams.

Yet only 1 state championship for the Atlanta area schools since 2002.
Come on Atlanta area schools, what else do we have to give up down here to give you guys a chance? Do we just all need to go down to AAAA?

BTW North is sending 2 swimmers to the Naval Academy next year. We sent 3 kids to the service academies this year. And I know of 4 other kids we sent to the service academies in the few years before that; including a football player. This is an unprecedented number of kids from a single school in such a short time, and not one of them has washed out. W00T!!!!

Now, I also think the P Ridge, Brookwood game is very dangerous for P Ridge. Brookwood has a solid team with talented players. They seem to be playing at a higher level the last few weeks. This comes at exactly the same time that P Ridge is in a funk that seems to have started in the game against S Forsyth. Hopefully Ballard calls a better game than he did at North. P Ridge has the players to beat anyone, but they have to get back on track. For that matter a solid win by P Ridge in this game could give the team the “confidence” to get back on track and go deep into the playoffs. Going 0 for 5 on 4th down attempts at North causes players and coaches to question themselves and their ability. It is one of the reasons a coach should never put his team in that position. Winning football requires the team to “believe” in themselves and then little things seem to go the right way. This game could be huge for P Ridge if the team regains their confidence, and I wish you guys the best of luck. As a Gwinnett fan it is very disappointing that 2 strong Gwinnett teams have to meet this early in the playoffs. It is a problem that cannot happen in 1AAAAA because the 4 teams are deliberately spread across the 4 brackets. I have a feeling this will be an epic game between your schools.

All of the teams that have made it this far are outstanding football teams deserving of our respect. The teams that made it this far are not losers, even though all but one of them will lose their last game. They are playing good football, they have made us proud, and they are fun to watch.

North Gwinnett vs. Woodstock- I think Woodstock is good, but North Gwinnett will win. it will be closer than most people think. (I guess my opinion on the North Gwinnett team is showing here. Don’t take it personally Suwanee 0wnz and BulldawgBite)

Minimal Upset alert:
Grayson vs. Roswell- Roswell is a decent team and Grayson hasn’t played 100% lately, if things can really go Roswell’s way, The Hornets have a chance to knock off the #1 ranked team in the state. I still think Grayson will pull it out

Peachtree Ridge vs. Brookwood- the Lions have played poorly lately. (To put it nicely). Many players are hurt and will be pushed facing a physical Brookwood team. Brookwood has become hot as of late and could pull an upset if things go their way. I’m still sticking with my Ridge.

An upset could happen if Friday is a truly odd night. (Full moon, UFO sightings, BigFoot spottings etc..)

Northside vs. Union Grove- I think Union Grove has the talent to where if they play the games of their lives and Northside is thinking about the next week/plays the worst game of their lives, the talented but young/inexperienced Eagles could be done. I’m still going with Northside.

I will say, the Lions need to watch our backs. We’ve been playing poorly lately, we are hurt, and we are facing a Brookwood team that is HOT right now. They have a lot of pride in their program and I don’t expect an easy victory over Brookwood, but it’s insane to believe that Brookwood will “Destroy” (30+ point victory) us.

You obviously don’t know anything about the 2009 MLK Football Team. Most of you probably have not even seen our team play. You are just jumping on the bash MLK wagon. You cannot judge a team based on one game people. Yes Mack Brown is a wonderful RB, but our DEFENSE is one of the best in the state of Georgia. Don’t sleep on this MLK team. Go MLK Lions!!!

You are correct that your passing game is “advantage Roswell.” Our DB’s are so much more improved from early this year, but we don’t have a match for your #80. Not sure anyone at the HS level does – except maybe Newnan. We downloaed a “spread” playbook on Monday, but it’s way too confusing for our Wing T guys, so we won’t be passing on Friday. Again.

Our defense has been our trademark for years, but all this means nothing if we can’t stop your passing game. While we really don’t have a good matchup for the passing game, I give Grayson the edge in run defense.

If our starting RB is healthy enough to play, I’m gonna be a little bias and give the Rams and edge in the run game (it’s all we do, so I think we’re pretty fair at it).

Our kicker is good, maybe above average, but we don’t have the consistent touchback kicks – advantage Roswell.

We know we have our work cut out….again…but are excited to be facing a great team.

But the 44-0 hammering of Bradwell Institute has absolutely nothing to do with the beating that Colquitt County is going to give to Srephenson. I don’t know where you have gotten your offensive schemes from that you think Colquitt County has, but I will say that things you did to Bradwell Institute, wont happen to Colquitt County. Your team that think they could, will be done again for another consecutive year along with MLK. ( So much for your talented players)

Last year, Grayson had “never been hit like the train” that was supposed to come from East paulding. They had “never seen speed” like they were gonna see from Lowndes. This year, we had “never been exposed to such an explosive offense” as South was going to bring…what the hell? Do you really think we play Meadowcreek 9 games out of ten every freakin year, and not practice to play against decent teams?
