You know what I find amusing is that in South Georgia there are maybe 3 or 4 High Schools per county? Correct me if I am wrong, but if there's only one high school in the area aren't you all suppose to be good in certain athletic programs. I am not sure if you all in south ga are building any high schools there, but up north high schools are being built every two or three years which allow redistricting to allow those schools to pull from schools up here that should and would be able to compete. Now you all can talk all the crap you want to talk about how strong the football is down there, but when you all are not bulding any high schools then you should be able to dominate when you have 1 high school around for miles. Just my take

Let me congratulate Colquitt county on the win. Let me also say I didn't see that great spread offense either that many predidcated would eat up the Stephenson defense. Other than that Stephenson beat themselves on Special teams. I will make no excuses for the Jags. The game was theirs for the taking. The only thing I want to say for you all to say that Stephenson coaches can't coach, I beg to differ.. Stephenson dominated from the start. It wasn't until some questionable flags that the refs called each time the offense was moving the football down the field, a flag mysteriously fell out of the refs pockets. As I said before the game started, this game was going to be decided by special teams & who commiteed the fewest penalties

Man please, did Colquitt win or did Stephenson just blow it? Colquitt wasn't impressive, they won because of their special team play. I'll give Colquitt their props for the win but what happened to this great offense and defense. The quarterback had the happiest feet I've ever seen and this great run stopping defense gave up big run after big run.

SportsFan31313
C'Mon man "I wont say that they were out matched" were you at the same game. Bradwell didn't belong on the same field. I was actually worried about a Bradwell player getting seriously hurt. Sanders had 125 yards in the 1st quarter. Several starters were taking tape off at the start of the 3rd.

This week should be a good one though, Colquit Co. is solid. It will be a defensive game but Stephensons offense yes I said offense will be the difference. Best offense in schools short history. Plus the D or special teams will score at least once. SHS 28 - 17

Greetings GO UG!,

Okay, I have said this over and over and over and over again. I said that I am a Region 3-AAAAA Bradwell Institute and Region 3-AAA Liberty County Fan. I make no excuse for them losing, and neither make no excuse for then winning. When they are not in the Playoffs I pull for their Region, and i also pull for South Georgia Teams. I am from South Georgia. Now I hope that answers your question. Now, I have also said that Stephenson has a great team especially how they mopped the filed with Bradwell Institute, however; this is what I saw. I see speed from their quarter back and running backs. That is a plus for Stephenson. However; they lack discipline. They acquire a lot of penalties, and you will not win a game over Colquitt County like that. The ONLY chance i give Stephenson is that they commit no turnovers, and no penalties. Other than that, I believe Colquitt County will prevail.

Nomo, good luck to both teams tonight and I am looking forward to a good game. I love high school football as I believe that it is a tremendous opportunity (with the support of good coaches) for young men to learn about football, teamwork, dedication, and how to handle certain challenges. Grayson will no doubt be the best team that Roswell has faced all year. My hope is that both teams leave the field believing that they have played thier absolute best; that way whoever loses just needs to shake the other guys hand and wish them well in the next round with no complaining. Good luck tonight to players on both sides, especially the seniors !

SportsFan- i dont have doubt but at the same time i will admit that CC is the underdog going into this game. its their second straight trip to metro ATL and Stephenson has more thoroughbreds than we do. Stephenson has about 8 or 9 D1 prospects on their roster. now talent does not all ways translate to wins but CC will have to cut down on the penalties and other mistakes to win the game. the team is disciplined...some of the time but they also tend to have lapses where they dont play hard for a quarter or an entire half. Northside jumped out to a 14-0 lead against CC but my Packers finally woke up and made it a 20-17 game. Class AA powerhouse Thomasville had CC on the ropes for three quarters and then we exploded for 28 points in the fourth quarter alone to win the game.

I do think Coach Propst and his staff are much better than the underachieving coaching staff of Stephenson.

Yo, the one area that will hurt Stephenson is they like a lot of teams including us don't have much of a passing game. What Stephenson has in their favor is that they are super athletic and fast. With that being said it sounds like Colquitt may have already faced some similar teams. I really think this one will be a tight low scoring game. This is also Stephenson's chance to quiet the crowd and earn the respect that they have been looking for; however, I really think Stephenson’s success lies with their coaching staff and what kind of preparation they have done for this game. I can also tell you that Stephenson will lay the wood.

Colquitt County Underdog- I personally don't think it will be that big of an upset. What I mean't is that their is a major possibility, not that it would be a MAJOR upset. At that, I believe it would be considered a much grater upset than it truly is if Colquitt wins, considering how GOOD the Packers are, and how Stephenson traditionally can't make it far in the playoffs.

Suwanee 0wnz- Agreed about Lions. I hate to say this, but the past few weeks P Ridge has played pathetically. To be honest, we haven't played a GREAT game since North Forsyth (Game 4 of our season). North Gwinnett was a game we should have won, and won by AT LEAST two scores, but we threw that game out. Literally, we beat ourselves, then again, we've gotten pretty good at that. I felt like the players played really well for the first time in a while against NG, but bad playcalling ruined it for the players (Ballard doesn't call offensive plays). It is SOOO frustrating to know you have the athletes to win it all, but not achieving success. Our offense in general is pretty pathetic, I think we should give up our Flexbone Triple Option offense and switch to something that's less predictable, and more balanced. But I doubt that will happen, next year we'll probably be stuck with the same thing. That is my honest assessment of the situation, hopefully no one gets too offended ;)

GO UG Colquit has seen strong and they have seen pressure.
Lowndes and Northside are big and fast along the defensive line
and have plenty of cover people at linebacker and secondary.
Also, Lowndes and Northside are very disciplined on defense.
Is Stephenson? Hasn't always been that way in the past.

EW, you said it you must be disciplined. If they get into over pursuing then yes they could be in trouble. The thing about Stephenson is that they are so strong on the line and they will bring enormous pressure. Does Colquitt go from the shot gun?

Stephenson may have fast DB's but when the spread is coming at you the speed is your worst enemy. The whole point is to get the def. moving one way and produce one on one situations with the edges. If your fast DB's and DE's don't keep containment then the Pack's RB will break for huge chunks of yardage. Pack 27 Steph. 14

This is a qoute from the Valdosta newspaper inregarding of classification for the Camden haters out there. This may clear some stuff up for you all.

"From a football standpoint, (Region 1-AAAAA) would be a possibility," Coach Herron said. "We'd be talking about a long trip every other Friday. If you just look at football, you could do it."
However, Herron said a move to Region 1-AAAAA would "absolutely destroy" other sports like basketball, baseball and softball. Because of the 100 mile rule, those teams would be forced to play all of their region games on Fridays and Saturdays, because high school teams are not permitted to travel over 100 miles for games on school nights. None of the teams projected to be in Region 1-AAAAA for the next four years are within 100 miles of Kingsland.
"There's nothing we can do about it. We have to play where they put us, whether we like it or not," Herron said.

SportsFan, I may be a little disillusioned but correct me if I am wrong but aren't you supposed to pull for your team, region and territory? I have nothing but respect for all the teams that are still in the running. There is not doubt that Colquitt will give Stephenson all they can handle. Although I am predicting a Stephenson victory, it is based solely on me seeing Stephenson play. If I had seen Colquitt play I might reevaluate. Stephenson’s D-backs are so fast that I think that will give Colquitt’s passing game a rough time.

mark newnan 1 said "CAMDEN AND LOWDES TIE". Not in GA. Overtime shall continue until one team wins and overtime is exempt from the curfew. I saw it when I was looking up the issue of a coin toss or not (all of you that said third round with two #1 seeds = coin toss were correct. No consideration of win/loss at that point).

I'm not suggesting a "beating" per-say. I said what I mean, and I mean what I say. There absolutely no doubt, that if what I mentioned in my earlier comment about Stephenson what will happen. Are you having doubt?

BlackAngel,

Have you read my previous blogs? I make no excuse for losing and make no excuse for winning. I will stick with my teams win or lose. At this point, I don't care where the game is played, it will definitely be a tough game. Your players have a lot of talent, and speed. But it appears that they do not have discipline. Well at they very least to cut down on gross penalties. Colquitt County plays very well discipline ball. For you all to think that Stephenson will just beat Colquitt County is just ludicrous.

Yo, I know the best team does not always win it but no matter if the team is from the North or South, if they are good enough they will probably go all the way. You know the old saying, “the cream shall rise to the top.”

Hey Big j, you ready for Friday night at the MAC???? I am looking forward to all of the NSWR storied tradition. The Windsor Forest game left a little to be desired. I am going to make a prediction….I predict UG will be there Friday night, not quite sure what to expect beyond that.

I am feeling a Woodstock upset tommorrow , kind of having my doubts about Region 7 this year . NG defeated Prattville early in the season and a then seemingly struggling Brookwood..Not much competetion after that to speak of....We all know that Georgia plays the best High School football in the southeast , How much weight does this Prattville win carry?......Pridge was scrapped off the field by the Lowndes County EMT's with 50 plus points on their backs , and an unimpressive 14 -7 win over Kell....How much weight does NG win over Pridge carry?.......I like this Woodstock team, I keep up with their stats, other than MaCeachern defensively they hadn't give up much ,It's no accident this squad played Camden so well in the 3rd round last season......And if anyone hadn't noticed they are 16-2 since the Oct 2008 loss to Harrison ........This one gets a ENR special..."UPSET ALERT" Colquitt at Stephenson........This is a hard one , It all depends which Colquitt team shows up.....Defensively if the Pack come out aggressive from the start they should stop any team ,the Pack didn't start playing ball against Northside til the second half ,then made a contest of it.......Offensively if the Stephenson DC didn't do his homework on the Packs offense ,they will put up some good numbers on the Jags , you can't play this offensive from only from upstairs only.......I think the Pack is still a year out .....I am taking Stephenson in a close one......

Start of the playoffs the Atlanta area teams outnumbered the S. Ga. teams 24 - 8. After the first round of the playoffs 50% of the S. Ga. teams move on and 50% of the Atlanta area teams move on. This is taking into consideration as many have pointed out that some of the S. Ga. teams belong in much lower classifications. Actually, according to the new data only 3 of the original playoff bound S. Ga. schools qualified as AAAAA. 5 did not. Unfortunately, of the 4 remaining S. Ga. teams 1 will be eliminated for sure this week because two of the traditional S. Ga. teams play each other. Now "that" seems hardly fair and is unfortunate, but it happens to the benefit of the Atlanta area schools every year.
Any way, to begin the playoffs the Atlanta area teams outnumber the S.GA. teams 3-1. 4 or 5 to 1 might be more equal odds for the Atlanta area teams (fofl) and we will see who is left standing when there is only 1 team left.

Remember Atlanta you started out as you do every year with a 3-1 advantage.

So lets see, Atlanta gets the most teams in the playoffs with a 3-1 advantage and they get the much greater advantage of less travel compared to S.Ga. teams.

Yet only 1 state championship for the Atlanta area schools since 2002.
Come on Atlanta area schools, what else do we have to give up down here to give you guys a chance? Do we just all need to go down to AAAA?
Think you could win a state championship then? Maybe?

Stephenson will have to throw the ball to beat Colquitt. The Packer defense has stopped the run of some of the better running teams in the state. I think the speed and the aggressiveness of the Jag defense will work against them against the spread the Packers run. Screens and swing passes will have the D of the Jaguars on their heels.

Black Angel, I just read your post from 10:06 PM last night. I have not seen any post on this blog where someone pointed out anything about the color of your team. Man you brought this race thing up one time before. It seems to me that you are the one with the problem. Come on man, I am pulling for your team but when you make comments like that it is making you sound racist. There is probably not a team in the State that does not have black and white kids. Man leave race out of it. When we played Stephenson they showed a lot of class after the game, don't make them look bad.

No, I won't take it personally, Queen, and I will refrain from offering my opinion of academics at P Ridge, or that "snooty" neighborhood in the middle of your district. In fact, I agree with you. Woodstock is a solid team that could beat North. I fully expect an exciting game, and I am not concluding an automatic win for North. It is very possible this could be the last football game for North in 2009, and I am almost certain it will be very fun to watch regardless of who wins.

BTW North is sending 2 swimmers to the Naval Academy next year. We sent 3 kids to the service academies this year. And I know of 4 other kids we sent to the service academies in the few years before that; including a football player. This is an unprecedented number of kids from a single school in such a short time, and not one of them has washed out. W00T!!!!

Now, I also think the P Ridge, Brookwood game is very dangerous for P Ridge. Brookwood has a solid team with talented players. They seem to be playing at a higher level the last few weeks. This comes at exactly the same time that P Ridge is in a funk that seems to have started in the game against S Forsyth. Hopefully Ballard calls a better game than he did at North. P Ridge has the players to beat anyone, but they have to get back on track. For that matter a solid win by P Ridge in this game could give the team the "confidence" to get back on track and go deep into the playoffs. Going 0 for 5 on 4th down attempts at North causes players and coaches to question themselves and their ability. It is one of the reasons a coach should never put his team in that position. Winning football requires the team to "believe" in themselves and then little things seem to go the right way. This game could be huge for P Ridge if the team regains their confidence, and I wish you guys the best of luck. As a Gwinnett fan it is very disappointing that 2 strong Gwinnett teams have to meet this early in the playoffs. It is a problem that cannot happen in 1AAAAA because the 4 teams are deliberately spread across the 4 brackets. I have a feeling this will be an epic game between your schools.

All of the teams that have made it this far are outstanding football teams deserving of our respect. The teams that made it this far are not losers, even though all but one of them will lose their last game. They are playing good football, they have made us proud, and they are fun to watch.

STEPHENSON FOOTBALL not hatin....just statin...the facts.
The reason Stephenson doesn't win state championships is off season weight room and conditioning. Not on the same level as S. Ga. and some other areas of Ga. and it always eventually ends up showing on the field.

BlackAngel- you must just be a fan of the jags and don't know football(which is ok) but we don't have a great coaching staff... we have great players who make are coaches look good during the season becauese we play in a weak region for the most part which i think is much improve but most of the teams can't play with the speed or talent of a stephenson..but are coaching has nothing do with it...if we have a good coaching staff how do we have one the most talented teams in the state year in and out and still get put in the first and second round...i could go on but i won't...YO also sound like someone who has never step on the football feild without a water coolers...stop hating it's not cool if you didn't know!

The Moultrie Observer (who writes IMO the best articles of any paper covering high school sports) in a favorable article on Stephenson, at the end of the article points out the following.

"But while the Jaguars have played — and defeated — 10-1 Martin Luther King Jr. and 9-2 Union Grove, the combined record of their 10 regular-season opponents is 47-57."

im going to be a Packer whether we win or lose. i will continue to post here win or lose... how could South Georgia schools load up on talent any more than Stephenson or MLK? the population in South GA is nothing compared to metro ATL. just because some counties have one school does not mean they "load up" on talent. the only South GA schools that are really big are Lowndes and Camden County.

Quinn- Stephenson is known for making early round exits. if CC beats them, is it really that big of an upset?

Hey Mark Newnan, you must live in opposite land as all your predictions
are opposite of reality, Sir Miller 20 is pretty much on the mark! It is a whole new season in the playoffs you never know how teams will react in different environments.Lowndes should get untracked at Camden,
NSWR over Union Grove, that is about all I will prognosticate about, GO EAGLES!

My upset alerts this week:
MAJOR upset alert:
Stephenson vs. Colquitt County- I predict Colquitt

Moderate upset alert:
North Gwinnett vs. Woodstock- I think Woodstock is good, but North Gwinnett will win. it will be closer than most people think. (I guess my opinion on the North Gwinnett team is showing here. Don't take it personally Suwanee 0wnz and BulldawgBite)

Minimal Upset alert:
Grayson vs. Roswell- Roswell is a decent team and Grayson hasn't played 100% lately, if things can really go Roswell's way, The Hornets have a chance to knock off the #1 ranked team in the state. I still think Grayson will pull it out

Peachtree Ridge vs. Brookwood- the Lions have played poorly lately. (To put it nicely). Many players are hurt and will be pushed facing a physical Brookwood team. Brookwood has become hot as of late and could pull an upset if things go their way. I'm still sticking with my Ridge.

An upset could happen if Friday is a truly odd night. (Full moon, UFO sightings, BigFoot spottings etc..)

Northside vs. Union Grove- I think Union Grove has the talent to where if they play the games of their lives and Northside is thinking about the next week/plays the worst game of their lives, the talented but young/inexperienced Eagles could be done. I'm still going with Northside.

Lions Mom-see SouthGArules post.

I will say, the Lions need to watch our backs. We've been playing poorly lately, we are hurt, and we are facing a Brookwood team that is HOT right now. They have a lot of pride in their program and I don't expect an easy victory over Brookwood, but it's insane to believe that Brookwood will "Destroy" (30+ point victory) us.

STEHPHENSON FOOTBALL... Please don't dog out our coaches. i think they actually do a great job at coaching, making halftime adjustments and taking a teams will to play football in the second half. If you are with us then be so, but if you want to hate be a good hater but don't say because of coaching we will loose

Greetings Sportsfan3131....
I understand you will cheer for all of the south georgia teams and rightfully so. My take is the game must be played in the backyard of the Mighty Stephenson Jaguars. Here is another interesting fact, this is the first time these two teams will have met. Although if Stephenson wins you South Ga folks will say, well the Jags should have won or the refs cheated. You see I been reading alot of comments and hearing alot of South Ga fans dog out Schools like Stephenson, MLK, SWD not because of football, but because of the majority color of the team and coaching staff is made up of. It's going to be great after this weekend when the Colquitt Co.Packers get packed to go home. MLk take care of Newnan.
YO.. I laugh at everything you say. Your so biased it makes me puke. You quote what people say and then you have the nerve to twist quotes. Remember it's only an opinion. Just keep cheering for your team or teams. Unlike South Ga there are numerous schools around so you can't load up on talent at one school. LOL
I really hope the Packers fan show up to support their team. It will be great to send them back packing

Great feedback nomo. I feel the same way about the upcoming Grayson game as I did when we played against Charles Perkins and Collins Hill last week; it was a great high school football game to watch and felt bad for the seniors that one team had to loose. The Roswell defensive line is small with an average size of about 235-250 but they appear solid on technique. I hope that Grayson does not dominate the line play as I expect them to. You are correct in your assessment of wr #80 Chris Boyd; he is very good and is headed to Vanderbilt. Ironically, if Grayson runs alot and does not mix up the play calling, that will play into Roswell's stregnth. Should be a great game as most are when you get to the 2nd round; from here to the end of the playoffs, it will definitly be "big-boy football".

Come on Columbia Blue, don't get poor mouth with us about the young team stuff. Lowndes will not see the same team that opened against Grayson with 15 suspened players. It should be a very hard hitting chess match between talanted young men and two masters of coaching.I agree the winner will be the team to beat if others want a champioship.
Good luck to all the kids ( both teams) Friday night.

Trojan Man: While it is true that Grayson runs that boring Wing-T, do not underestimate the Rams passing attack. It is true they do not throw much, but Patrick Santry is a very competent QB who throws just to let you know he can.
Lions Mom: Quinn is not predicting a Brookwood win. The poster "reality" said that Brookwood will destroy P'Tree Ridge. Quinn was taking a shot at "reality" by saying his pick was insane.
Doc: Where do you see the upsets in AAAAA?

Camden has a very young team. Lowndes always has a great team. Lowndes plays in region 1 AAAAA and Camden plays in region 3 AAAAA. Lowndes has been a State Champion several times and Camden has been a State Champion twice. People talk about how weak of a region Camden participates in. I gree 100 per cent; however, we can only play in the region that is assigned to us. I really think it is all about how far a team goes in the play-offs. The game between Lowndes and Camden will be a great game. I really think the winner will also be crowned as the State Champion. As a Wildcat fan, I wish Lowndes the best of luck. The game will be decided between the lines. Please do not talk trash untill you win it all. Untill you win it all, you are not even considered as a contender.

Big Dogg and all other MLK Haters:

You obviously don't know anything about the 2009 MLK Football Team. Most of you probably have not even seen our team play. You are just jumping on the bash MLK wagon. You cannot judge a team based on one game people. Yes Mack Brown is a wonderful RB, but our DEFENSE is one of the best in the state of Georgia. Don't sleep on this MLK team. Go MLK Lions!!!

roswellfan, no anger at all - just nervous. I've now watched film on the Hornets playing Milton, Walton, Collins Hill and Lassiter. I've seen enough to make me sick at my stomach, and I'll agree - I think your #4 QB is better than #14.

You are correct that your passing game is "advantage Roswell." Our DB's are so much more improved from early this year, but we don't have a match for your #80. Not sure anyone at the HS level does - except maybe Newnan. We downloaed a "spread" playbook on Monday, but it's way too confusing for our Wing T guys, so we won't be passing on Friday. Again.

Our defense has been our trademark for years, but all this means nothing if we can't stop your passing game. While we really don't have a good matchup for the passing game, I give Grayson the edge in run defense.

If our starting RB is healthy enough to play, I'm gonna be a little bias and give the Rams and edge in the run game (it's all we do, so I think we're pretty fair at it).

Our kicker is good, maybe above average, but we don't have the consistent touchback kicks - advantage Roswell.

We know we have our work cut out....again...but are excited to be facing a great team.

I'm honestly confused. Please say it isn't so! Quinn, you're not predicting our Lions will LOSE to Brookwood are you?? Where's the loyalty?

you guys are funny i don't think any team should make any predictions because this a game that means anything can happen...now if we are just going off facts the jags allow 5.4 points a game ranked the second best defense in 5A and i think we have a very good offense....but also i think we need to open up our pass game a little more just to keep teams from trying to load the box on us which will allow the run game to be more effective...colquitt may have a good defense and thats what there going need and hope there offense can move the ball on us but i don't think there's a very good chance for that...jags 17-0 and they move onto a very good Hudson Mason offense but i think he will have problems with the speed of the jags also...i really see the jags in the dome if they focus and play mistake free football..which is hard but thats what it takes to be a winner...ALSO PLEASE COACHES DON'T LOOSE THE GASME FOR OUR KIDS WITH POOR PLAY CALLING AND NO AJUSTMENTS BEING MADE WHEN NEED IT..THATS REALLY WHY WE DON'T HAVE A STATE TITLE AT STEPHENSON...BAD COACHING ON GAME NITE

Wow nomo.....relax. It's not that serious. I feel your anger coming out in your post. Not sure why you took the angle that you did. Anyway, While I have not seen Grayson play this year in person; I have seen all of Roswell games. Roswell stregnth are run defense and special teams. Thier passing game is much better because of the new quarterback now running the offense; however Roswell is still a run-first offense. Most kickoffs go thru the end zone resulting in an 80 yard drive required to score a td by the opposing offense. This has been a tremendous advantage to roswell this year. Our pass offense is better with #4 now starting at qb. Roswell has 2 really good wr's and this appears to be a strength going into this game. I know nothing about grayson db's but I fo know that Roswell has 2 D1 recievers. All things being equal, Grayson will win. But perhaps I am making an emotional pick but it appears to me that Roswell has rallied around it's new quarterback and has an expanded offense. If Roswell can match the line play of Grayson, seems to me that Roswell has advantages in most other fundamental aspects of the game. I think that this game will break on perhaps a big play or breakdown. In the games that Roswell struggled this season, it was defensive breakdowns against the pass (walton which we won) and (Lassitter which we lost). Should be a great game.

well, we would LOVE to beat NSWR here at the Grove, but I think most of us are realistic and know it would be quite an upset. We accumulate way too many penalties and can't seem to get our offense to gel. Very frustrating to watch, especially when you consider the amount of talent on the team! Our boys mainly want to give them a good game and not get blown out. We stayed with Stephenson 7-7 'til halftime--I think that was quite a surprise for them. We'll see you all down in AAAA next season, though!

Advisor States:
sf31313 all I’m saying is that we’ve made mistakes ,we’ve had bad calls, and we’ve overcome them … to the tune of 44 points (bradwell). And frankly cc trying to beat Stephenson w/that shot gun or that direct snap from that full house…well stick with your team I’ll stick with mine …just tryin’ to helps ya tis all.don’t you wastin’ a pick

Greetings Advisor,

My goodness son, are you hooked on phonics? In response to your comment, and I hope I am responding correctly to what you are trying to say. But the 44-0 hammering of Bradwell Institute has absolutely nothing to do with the beating that Colquitt County is going to give to Srephenson. I don't know where you have gotten your offensive schemes from that you think Colquitt County has, but I will say that things you did to Bradwell Institute, wont happen to Colquitt County. Your team that think they could, will be done again for another consecutive year along with MLK. ( So much for your talented players) :-) :-) :-) :-)

The " * " beside Camden should only refer to them being one of two or three teams you must beat every year to win a AAAAA state championship in Ga. They have outstanding coaching and they show up every week. I am pulling for Lowndes this week but I sure don't consider Camden the underdog. Maybe in Martin stadium but not in Camden's home. Should be a great game, even though I will be there, I wished it were televised so we could watch again on saturday. Go Vikings..........

I saw that Stephenson-MLK game on ESPNU and Stephenson fumbled 3 times...it was a very sloppy game indeed...thats why i dont understand why that one Stephenson fan mentioned Colquitt's sloppy game last week against Westlake. same thing happened to them but on national tv

"IF" the game between Stephenson and MLK was represenative of thier play and ability they will not last long in the remaining playoffs. They were sloppy, too many unexceptable penalities and both teams appeared inferior. Stephenson looked better only because MLK looked terrible. Thier claim to be the best team anyone has ever seen, is about as true as the claim of 10,000 at the game that appeared to be more like 2500 (maybe) . Both are done this week....

"Both can Lose" - PS Always put an * next to Camden’s won-loss record. What are looking at. It does not matter what region, they show up every year in the playoffs, make it to the dome 5 out of 7 years and the 2 other years were in the 3rd round. So to my calculations, they are a darn good football team that wins and have no problem playing great football teams out of region during the regular season just to shut people up like you that have no sense. Wake up next time before you say something stupid again.

Wolverine - nothing to do with being superior - in fact, I've said several times here that Roswell presents the best matchup we've seen all year. My point is all this talk about things other teams "haven't seen." It's football for cryin out loud - nobody's reinventing the wheel in HS football. If you've evaluated and determined that Woodstock creates mismatches in the matchups with NG, then more power to you. But to say they haven't been hit? Really? They haven't seen offensive firepower? Right. roswellfan had the same sentiments toward Grayson, and the Stephenson crowd believes because they are fast they can't be beat. It all makes for fun chatter for fans, but it's not really about football.

Colquitt County probably does not have as much physical talent as Stephenson but our best players always seem to make timely, clutch plays. The Packer defense has gotten better and better as the season rolls along and shutout Westlake and Warner Robins. Like the article mentions, the Westlake game was Colquitt's worst game offensively all season. It was an aberration, not the usual output. Colquitt still had close to 300 total yards. The starting RB ran for over 140 yards and he hasnt been completely healthy the last 3 or 4 weeks. If the Colquitt QB plays his usual game and the offense is able to make a big play or two, then i like Packers' chances. Colquitt can also make a big play on special teams...just ask Lassiter or any Region 1AAAAA fan about how team stopped kicking to our star WR.

Note- Lombardo was banged up for most of the second part of the season, he sat out at South Forsyth until we sent him in with like 1 minute to go. It wasn't JUST the NG defense.

If the PRHS defense allowed 14 points for North Gwinnett, I don't see Woodstock allowing fewer than ten.

i think this camden team is probably a lot better than people give them credit for. they lost to hoover and grayson. both early on, as we know camden always plays well at home and in the playoffs so lowndes better become prepared to play. ill be sold that lowndes is the real deal this year if they can beat camden.

whoa! norcross! they are soooooooooo good ;)
now im worried. i like how people give the wolverines credit for being a playoff team when last year was the first year that yall have ever won a playoff game. walton was a terrible seed and norcross wasnt that great. your not gonna stop NG's offense so much that it cant score more than 10 points. we have played better defenses than woodstock. prattville alabama and Ptree ridge have better defenses so im pretty sure your not gonna hit us in the mouth any harder than we have been already

some of you kill me....

Wolverine - do you really, honestly think NG has not faced a good defense? Heaven forbid, look at who they've played!

roswellfan - same...do you really think Grayson hasn't played against some of the best already? So all of a sudden we're now gonna face the best defense ever?...and see our first forward pass, ever? Please.

Do ya'll really think you have the inside track on great defense, and explosive offense? I'm all for pulling for your teams - I sure pull for mine - but c'mon, are you serious? It's about matchups, not just schemes.

Last year, Grayson had "never been hit like the train" that was supposed to come from East paulding. They had "never seen speed" like they were gonna see from Lowndes. This year, we had "never been exposed to such an explosive offense" as South was going to bring...what the hell? Do you really think we play Meadowcreek 9 games out of ten every freakin year, and not practice to play against decent teams?

CamdenCounty doesn't pick what region to play in. That is where we live, so would you please lay off the region crap allready. THANKS. Region 4 and 5, only had one team move on. I never hear about that. Camden is the underdog this Friday from what I have seen. THANKS. My prediction is 28 CAMDEN - 21 LOWNDES THANKS

NG just get ready to be hit and hit hard, you have not this year faced a defense like we will bring, our offense has been clicking and will burn you....many weapons. We have no problem going on the road for playoffs. As the music plays at the Woodshed....You are about to be "Thunderstruck" By the way we whupped on Norcross last year on the road during the playoffs.
