Burke county 1 fan. Ok lol. What are you smoking? It can’t be legal. Carver Columbus over rated. Have you seen them play. Do you know the size of or d-line. It will be a long night for Mr. Brigham. Ask some of the teams that Carver has played if they are over rated. Who on you team will stop I.Crowell. He might have 200 yards by halftime.

The only game that creekview lost this year was to North Hall, and I’m not going to lie they execute their plays and fill their gaps on defense. But cherokee county was out of school that week and and creekiew’s players weren’t focused. everybody that creekview meets i the playoffs better not take creekview lightly.

I dont agree with the person who said that North Hall is mediocre. Thats 100% Grade A bullcookies!!! North Halls only losses were to Gainesville and Buford. And we lost alot of players to injury during the scrimmage and and 1st game. And the Creekview game is when we started getting players healthy again. Now, the Trojans are 100% and are ready to give their all. Those two losses are a thing of the past, because since then North Hall is winning by an average score of 42-10 over the course of a 7 game win streak. Plus North Hall gets better and more sound each week. They will make a great run in the postseason. Go Trojans!!!

cj,
What you said is true, when you are a winner, everyone wants to play for you. But at the same time, you’re expected to keep winning, and go farther and farther in the playoffs. Therefore, I personally think that it’s a combination of the two, kids transferring in to play for a possible championship, and coaches recruiting to stay in the hunt for more state titles. I’m not saying that Coach McGee or Coach Miller at Gainesville are doing anything different than anyone else, just saying that they are doing a better job at it. I know for certain that Gainesville recruits from all over Hall Co., and I’d be willing to bet that CC recruits in Muscogee County. But in all fairness, I’d also be willing to bet that there are a lot of transfers to CC, just like there is to Gainesville. Thomas Sprague (#34) for Gainesville, transferred there to enhance his scholarship opportunities, as have a number of players there, and my guess is that is probably what’s happening at CC, also. I’m not dogging either school, but none of us need to pretend that it’s not happening at OUR school. Oh yeah, NTH(8-2), it happens at North Hall, too. The difference is that Miller and McGee are better coaches than Christmas.

NTH (8-2),
Don’t worry about what people are saying about North Hall, they lost two games this year to possible state champs. They seem to forget that BOTH teams were ranked #1 when NH played them, and that Gainesville hasn’t had a close game all season. Don’t worry, just let NH take care of them if they make it far enough in the playoffs to play NH.

Hey NTH (8-2),
Not hating on you, just want to point out that your win streak is built on (mostly) weak teams. All you say may well be true, but you have to take into consideration that those teams just weren’t nearly as strong as the teams you lost to.

As a coach in the same region as St Pius, i can attest to you all that Pius has been a benefactor of being in one of the worst sub-regions in 3AAA. When you play the likes of Riverwood, North Atlanta, Therrell, Carver (a team that couldn’t beat a Towers team that had one win all of last year) a Grady team that REALLY showed how OVERRATED it was on October 24, when Pius DESTROYED them in the Ga. Dome, with a decent team< you should run through that region. Look at what North Atlanta did against that weak compeition last year. They started off 4-1 and ended the season 5-5. Look at how Carver was destroyed lst year in the playoffs. Look at how Pius was man-handeled in the playoffs last year by Cartersville (and basically by two people). Just look at what happened the past two years in the region championship when all mighty St. Pius had to play Dunwoody (a team with better players and coaches). Last year the #3 team in AAA didnt even win its own region. And this year they barely beat them. And dont give me that crap about them beating Marist the past two years, cause thats how rivalries are supposed to go. Everyone knows that the best time to pull of an upset is early on before both offenses are clicking. Just look at what Marist did to Tucker last year and how they didnt have a prayer in the championship game. So if you can catch my drift, dont expect to see Pius too far down the road. Not a Pius hater, just a realist and someone who understands footbsll and not fooled by the 10-0 record (remember, I coached against them).

G-Lion granted St. Pius will beat my beloved Lions from F.C. but our defense will get their hits in. I hope they have a whirlpool at St. Pius because they will be sore tomorrow and I dont see our offense mounting much of an attack. Good Luck and in saying all that I guess every team has a chance until the final whistle blows, thats why they play the game on the field and not on paper. The only good thing is at least a lion will move on. Good luck

- To theBull35 –
I appreciate your realistic, yet somewhat disingenuous testimony regarding St. Pius football.
Did St. Pius choose the region the GHSA reclassified them to? I don’t think so. It is true, the region they play in is weak. And it is a matter of some concern, because it does not toughen your squad for the quality teams they will face in the playoff run.
Yet doesn’t Dunwoody, or any other team that can put a well coached, disciplined and prepared team on the field on Friday nights not enjoy the same advantages of playing within the same region? I certainly believe they do.
Is it really all that surprising that when these two undefeated teams met for the ‘08 Region title, that one unique player (Treavor Scales – a class act and kid) made the difference for his team in an evenly matched, hard fought, toe-to-toe slugfest that ended in a 20-14 victory for Dunwoody?
It happens on football fields all over the state every Friday night.
Is it any less surprising that when these two teams met again for the ‘09 Region title, and lacking the impact of one unique player in an evenly matched, hard fought, toe-to-toe slugfest that Dunwoody lost 10-7?
I don’t think so. Pius vs Dunwoody is now on the level of a rivalry game. And we look forward to future contests on that last weekend of the regular season. Their fans and coaches are a class act and I certainly hope you are not affiliated with them.
It is truly a case of being manhandled when you lose an ‘08 playoff game to Cartersville 34-31 having scored 14 unanswered points in the 4th quarter, and are lining up for a tying field goal attempt from the 15 yard line as time runs out in a gutty comeback bid? Or would that be more properly referred to as a “shootout”?
Is it really “no big deal” that Pius defeated Marist on their home field for the first time in 35 years in the opening game of the season by dominating both lines of scrimmage? I don’t believe Coach Chadwick would agree with that assessment, and I believe his team found out what he really thought during the next week of practice. It seems they got the message and we wish them luck in the playoffs.
So now Pius is 11-0, and will face another tough opponent in North hall this coming weekend. Will we win, or will we lose? Who knows…it’s the playoffs…it’s like russian roulette. But one thing is for sure, we will show up to play the game.
And let the chips fall where they may.

I know everybody got gainesville pick to win it, but look at their regular season, they havnt played anybody. They dont have not one playoff caliber team on their scheadule. Not one of those teams are in the top 25. So of course they blew everybody out. That’s ok the trojans are coming and i guarantee you they’ll need more than that receiver and quarterback to beat us. All i wanna say is they havnt been tested. Go Trojans

Greetings PeachCountyTrojan79,
I don’t know if you could remember but I am associating your Trojan 79 with the 78 years of Bradwell Institute. We played you all, and although we (Bradwell Institute) beat you all we do know that Peach County has a great team. Now that our County has two High Schools, Bradwell Institute and Liberty County, we can all tell you people on this blog that Peach County is a great team. I said this a couple of weeks ago and I was even question by Todd Holcomb (I think or someone from the news media) as to how I came to that decision. I just believe that it would Peach County or a team from Region 3-AAA. That Region (in my opinion) is the toughest in Class AAA this year. They speak a lot about Gainesville, and according to record, Gainesville is good but I look at their schedule and I am not convinced that Gainesville will be the last Teams standing when it is all said and done. Good Luck next week in the 2nd Round….

I know gainesville, carver and peach county are great teams but I think carrollton is just as good as both of those teams. Carrollton has the 5th best offense and the second best defense in AAA. Both carver and gainesville have played carrollton in the playoffs and has seen how diffcult it is to beat them.Gainesvilee hasn’t beat them carver did but only by 5 points in 2 games. But we havent played peach county yet but I beleive we can match up with them jusst fine. we will be a good match for anybody who is ready. GO TROJANS

BODOG, You got it exactly right. As you have seen Carver-Col has been reclassified as a AA school. The reason: the “no child left behind” program. Same reason that Northside and Hardaway are being moved up to AAAAA. Those kids who are taking a look at their academics from Carver, Spencer, Shaw etc are allowed transfers to schools who meet the basic standards for high school graduation. What saddens me is that the football transfers that Carver benefits from will most likely NEVER make the grades at the next level. Just take a look at what has happened to the most recent stars of Carver football. Aside from Jarmon Fortson, who else? You are also right in that Columbus “cherry picks” the best of the baseball players in Muscogee County. CJ, No change of heart. I feel bad for what happens to the Carver football stars after high school. But until then, I will pull for the Tigers. Just like the American Indians: “Our greatness is measured by the greatness of those who defeated us.”

All year last year you talked about the Baldwin fair weather fans, seems most of them moved to visitor side this year, cause the stands sure cleared out early in the 3rd qtr.
But all of that is history, both teams will face worthy opponents this Friday night and I hope both of us are on our game and move forward, cause I would love to see a repeat of 10-30-09 on 12-12-09.

Chili Cheese im on during playoff time…..when we not playn baldwin im a big fan that love what hicks is doing their but yall got fake fans and that’s it……..you could have ask any die hard hawk fan about our last game against baldwin if we was gonna win and they would have repeated the same thing…..”the only way we will win is to have a back up plan ready if the normal power game don’t work “……we didn’t so we got the doors blew off us and i blame it more on bad coaching….
CHILI CHEESE now u as a fan know if your team has tried the same plays for 3qt and have got only 20 yrd if that and they come out in the 4th doing the same plays its time to go because the coaches have packed it in…NOW i was at the game when yall got beat by peach and i saw hick throw everything in his playbook at peach and i respect that more than how our coaches just gave up or made it seem like they gave up by the play calls and the post game interview was so not what we was use to during rick era…..SAD TO AMITT BUT WE WILL LOSE FRI BUT I WILL BE THEIR BECAUSE THAT WHAT WE DO..SUPPORT OR KIDS REGARDLESS IF WE HATE THE COACHES AND THEIR OUT DATED PLAYBOOK….
