Not at all…Don’t misunderstand what I posted…AAAA or AAAAA EP fans will be there supporting their team. I just think EP has proven they can play, and compete equally, at the AAAAA level…also the closeness of many of the schools EP plays in AAAAA… Harrison, McEachern, South Cobb, Kennesaw Mtn., North Cobb, make travel less of an issue and tends to bring good support from both sides at the games…even Etowah, Woodstock & Cherokee are easy drives to and from Paulding and all these games drew good size crowds.
These games have began good rivilaries and I for one hope we stay at the AAAAA level just to keep playing the above mentioned teams. I can’t let Hoya Chuck, Pops, and you get off that easy!!!…LOL!
Good Luck to all the Region 5A teams tonight!!!!!
We’re heading to watch those HIRAM HORNETS!!!!!

Rfrom G: Provided that happens, Grayson would win. They played in the first round last year & Grayson won 31-7. I see a lot of the same. Grayson 24-7.
Pops: Even though I live in Gwinnett & like to see the Gwinnett schools do well, I hope you win even though I predicted South to win. Good luck to your son.
DavaoJeff: Are you going to be in Newnan tonight?

SouthGARules: Unfortunately, I cant attend any Viking or Wildcat games. I live in the Philippines now. I graduated from Lowndes and was fortunate enough to play for Joe Wilson on the 1980 State Champ Team. I follow both LHS and VHS as best I can, and listen to the games on the net, whenever possible. Even though I am thousands of miles away, my heart never left Valdosta. I support both programs from afar, and for me as long as the title stays in Lowndes County, I could care less which team wins. I went to LHS, but grew up in the city and even went to Valdosta Jr High. I remember growing up and watching Nick Hyder’s ‘cat teams make us all so proud.

Assuming the Savannah School’s stay in their enrollment clasification and not be foolish enough to play up two classes.
Why would Bradwell petition to play up when most of the school’s around it are 4-AAAA(Brunswick, Glynn Academy, Effingham, Jenkins, South Effingham)? Camden County is the only 5-AAAAA on the coast. They need to move to 1-AAAAA anyway. They’ve had it easy for to long.

ROSWELL#1 Coach Barker doesn’t strike me as an indidvidual that would play a player because of politics. This player started every game this year for a reason, he gave Roswell the best chance to win, which they did until last week. The timing of this situation is not what you would want the rest of your team to endure because of your action. Number 4 is a good athlete and I hope this doesn’t put a damper on a very good season for this team. Go Hornets!!!

Go Mighty Vikings! The Concrete Palace will be rocking tonight. Is it just me, or am I the only one that’s loving that pregame warm up thing we’re doing with the Georgia Bridgemen this year? It gets everybody hype and ready for the game. We going all the way this year so watch out! And good luck tonight to all the Region 1-AAAAA teams that made the playoffs. Let’s show them why our Region is nick-named the SEC of high shool football.

Great point A Fan. Just wanted to point out the fact that the qb who quit was penciled in at the begining of the season because he was a senior not because of an obvious upgrade in talent. He kid (who quit) had also been in the Roswell football program for many years as a result of his dad also being involved in roswell coaching as a “community coach”. The politics from my standpoint was playing the backup (#4) for 1 quarter rather than just staring him because he clearly was the better qb. Most defenses tried to put roswell in a 3rd and long because they knew that hickman had trouble with athleticsm and getting the ball out to it’s receivers. The 1st time Roswell went on th eroad at Lassitter got really challenged by a good team, the kid quit DURING THE GAME. Very embarrassing, but hopefully the kid can move on and there are no other issues involved which resulted in him quitting the way he did. My gut is that the team will respond well tonight. The main goal must be to stop Charles Perkins tonight; ball control offense for roswell with some play action passes; and no turnovers. Good luck tonight everybody.

Cannon Rules .. We think its time for a good rivalry and the true definition of Beast from the East. Plus the Battle of Paulding can actually mean something if EP comes back to AAAA and all the county teams play each other. Best record against couty teams = Battle of Paulding trophy

Yo,
I remember that ill advised prayer said by a Warner Robins Minister. I was shocked since I had just arrived in WR. To hear him say, ” God please watch over the losing team as they travel back to—-etc,etc. I was embarrassed even as a new resident to the city. It might have had something to do with me finding a home on the North side of town.

Anything is possible at this time of year. But I don’t think it will happen tonight. Hiram is a young team (whole backfield juniors) but well disciplined, well coached and focused.

Happy 1st round of playoffs, everyone! Good luck to your teams tonight.
The AJC’s Michael Carvell had told us he wouldn’t be blogging live this evening but he just checked in and said he’s going to try. He’s following Greenville High coach Jeremy Williams (see the great video Carvell shot in the main post if you haven’t already; also, read his story on Coach Williams and check the photos shot by the AJC’s Curtis Compton). Coach Williams has Lou Gehrig’s Disease but he and his Patriots are fighters. He’s led Greenville to an undefeated regular season and Carvell is checking out their first-round game tonight. It’s a really fine inspirational story.

To all Valdosta Wildcat Fans haven’t you gotten enough of trash talking before the game? As if the Lowndes game wasn’t enough to shut some of you up. It’s embarrassing being a Cat fan when folk come on here and bragg about how the Cats are going to beat Newnan and when the Cats lose you never hear from them after. Win or lose I’m still proud of my Cats.

SportsFan31313, Bradwell can and should play AAAA. There 5 Region games can be Brunswick, Effingham County, Glynn Academy, Jenkins and South Effingham. These are the teams they played when they were AAAA in the past, minus S.E. All these are closer than Camden County. The other 5 games they should “play up” for conditioning and playoff rediness. The 1st thing that needs to happen is the dissmisal of Coach Walsh. The kids are just not responding anymore.
