GO UG!:
If Newnan beats Valdosta they will face the winner of Union Grove/Bradwell Institute game…if you think I’m crazy for claiming Newnan will play Grayson in the qtr finals…then I’m crazy like a four way fox.

BulldogGirl:
Woodstock is one the most underrated teams in the state…my opinion that they will upset North Gwinnett is solely my opinion…I saw Woodstock lose a undefeated McEachern team who they could’ve beat by 3 or 4 touchdowns and been undefeated…It won’t be a walk in the park for N Gwinnett…Woodstock has alot of talent and they have to iron out all the kinks and I think they can…they remind me of one of those old 90s Valdosta teams.

WOW!!!!!!

Stephenson Jaguars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw some of their clips…. They are a very good team. Number 4 is pretty fast and he versatile….. They have size just as big as Bradwell Institute. And yes, Bradwell Institute does have size. (But they are inured) They (Bradwell Institute) had better do a lot of studying and look for key players. It seems like that entire offense has speed.

SportsFan31313 – Each region has their own formula to break ties for playoff positions. Usually when only two teams are tied, they go by the head to head game as the tie breaker. When three teams are tied, some regions count non region AAAAA wins. Other regions count both wins and losses in non region AAAAA games. Our region uses the fewest points allowed among the tied teams for their respective games and their games with any other playoff team. I have no idea how Region 3-AAAAA does it. Ask your head coach is the best advice I can give.

Sorry ’bout last night but glad you made the playoffs. Now just go up there and surprise Stephenson, who may be looking ahead!

I can’t believe what happened last night at Northside. Colquitt was driving, after a 3rd and 1 play, the ref’s called for a measurement, then sqaid 1st and 10 for Northside. Heck a field goal could have tied the game. A TD would/could have won it.

In our game we rec’d the opening kickoff and fumbled on our 1st offensive play (a sub wingback was in for a starter who was out for the whole game)and he fumbled. Warner Robions prompted scoired and kicked off and on our 1st offensive play we fumbled again ( a different sub wingback). Later we muffed a punt on our own 15 yd line. For the game we had 4 fumbles. But we still led 31-10 and put in our B team, which WR went down the field and scored on late to make it 31-17.

Glad the playoffs are here. Congrats to Northside. They tied Lowndes, each with one region loss, but are the first place team by our playoff rules. They should go far in the playoffs and would not surprise me to play is in the dome for the title.

I just returned to Atlanta and I have to say, our playoff bracket looks much, much more favorable than staring down a 2nd Round road trip to a future state champion in Kingsland. Good luck to all teams in the playoffs, especially those from South of the Gnat line.

I would love nothing more than to have a nice run from our young Eagles. These 10th and 11th graders have given us a fun season. Something tells me there are more surprises to come.

By the way, have the large groups of Lowndes County Vikings fans (who shamelessly road the Colquitt County bandwagon all week) returned to their rightful place as Viking fans. It was frankly sad to imagine so many Viking fans riding the Packer bandwagon.

Of course, the football game was played at McConnell-Talbert Stadium in Warner Robins. Of course, Colquitt County was a visiting team. Of course, the game concluded the regular season. Like every other visiting team that has rolled through the MAC since early 1996, Colquitt County was defeated.

It is great to be a Northside Eagle. It is great to, once again, hoist a regional championship.

SportsFan, I hope (expect) Camden to win next weekend and make it into the second round which more than likely will be against Lowndes. Hopefully it will be just as good as the game the last time they both played here in Camden 7-6, now that was HS football at its best and we had a ball in the stands with the Lowndes fans as well, we all tailgated together, shared food in the stands and talked much smack. After the game we congratulated each other and moved on.
Yes Brandwell did look like a young team and should improve next year. As you know Camden has a young team as well and the QB last night will be back next year as well as alot of the running backs, Days #32 is a good runner and that move he put on that DB was something else. #90 is a big young man as well and should be getting alot of attention. Most of the defense that played from the mid 3rd qt on were underclassmen and will be back next year. This might not be the year for the Cats, but next year look out.

The AAAA teams better be on alert…my beloved THOMAS COUNTY CENTRAL YELLOW JACKETS are playing lights out!!! I’ve been quiet all season as my baby Jackets kept getting better and better. Nobody would have thought(me included) that this young bunch would grow up like this and play so well. We totally dismantled westside macon who at the time was undefeated at 8-0, for the region championship! Hey and you know whats scary…we have only 2 senior starters on offense and 3 on defense…next year looks even better!!! I hate to tell you Alcovy, but it doesnt look good for you guys. And i see hiram in our corner of the bracket….well if we face yawl, I got a feeling we’re gonna handle you with ease just like we did your neighbor(EP)a few years ago…lets get in on and lets go YELLOW JACKETS!!!!

I even traveled down to the Thomas County Central game and have been to numerous EP games since. Good luck to EP in the future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the officials have a time keeper as part of the official team in the press box. Since the chain gang is not part of the crew they often get the down wrong. No excuse for the officals making that kind of mistake. If in question they check upstairs where they had it correct. This crew should be ban from playoffs. What association are they from??

Howdy JayBo, we missed you this year. Valdosta is ahead of Houston 33 – 0 at the half.

EagleNationRising, think about what you said about Lowndes jumping on Colquitt’s bandwagon. Of course we did. You would have too. We needed Colquitt to win so we could have 1st place. What the heck is wrong with that? Just be glad the ref’s at the MAC last night couldn’t count to 4 or we might be in 1st place. But congrats on a good season and good luck in the playoffs. Hopefully we can meet your Eagles or another 1-AAAAA team in the dome!

Does anyone know how the Union Grove MLK game is going?
Does anybody know who got the 4th place in region 5- AAAAA? Swearingen said last night on the Tommy Palmer radio score board show that it was Harrison. I thought with them losing and Marietta winning then Marietta would win 4th place. Does anyone know for sure?

You can talk about that one call, posters, but these officials were from ATL., so there was no bias. With approx. 4 minutes to play colquitt gets the ball back so they can have their game winning drive, but no, 2 qb sacks and an int., colquitt had their chance and didn’t
come up,so whine all you want, when crunch time came they didn’t!

blu eagle, I am not a Colquitt fan. I am not whining, just saying some calls will always be questionable by fans, players and coaches. Losing track of the down count and not taking the time to get it correct it not acceptable from any crew. They should be ban from playoffs. I normally support officials, most realy do a good job.

First of all, I tip my hat to Lassiter… I assume they played well, I couldn’t see anything because the bleachers were full when I got there. Do any of the Peachtree Ridge/North Gwinnett people have a scouting report on Collins Hill?

PR fans, Kell has a solid defense but a bad offense. If your D is anything like it was when I saw it in 06 & 07, you shouldn’t have much of a problem stopping them. I mean, we shut them out and you saw what just happened to our defense…

NG fans, Centennial is a fairly dangerous team. Their option has been very effective once they figured out that they need to stop passing the ball. Their 5-5 record is deceptive, they had to forfeit a 40-point win. They turned the ball over 7 times against Walton and still scored 31 points and won.

Let me point out that the last time we played Collins Hill in the first round, we won… and then we beat a supposedly invincible Region 8 team… and then we won State… I’m just saying.

YO, have you heard how is Jordan Black? Tyler Hunter is ok. He wanted to go back in last night like Orta did, ut they held him out. It was the 2nd time this yesr he had a hard hit on the head and left the game woooosey. I think Orta’s ankle is ok. Worried though, about Jordan. BTW, Jordan’s granddad was a heck of a player at the old Lowndes County High (Golden Eagles). We really missed Kharey Franklin Friday. He’ll be back this week.

Aye homefield…I saw last night what Khary really means to the Lowndes run game and to the team overall…when he’s playing he sets the momentum…I hope he gets his mind right for the playoffs. We missed Tyler on defense too…but the other guys stepped up and stopped a very good Warner Robins team. That was a much needed “TEST” for Lowndes right before the championship run.

I gotta admit…I saw TCC at the Lowndes scrimmage and they didn’t look like a AAAA championship team to me…actually I didn’t think they wuold win very many games…but now I see they have their stuff together…I was surprised when they beat Westide Macon…hopefully they can bring the title home.

North Gwinnett’s Coach Spire is a self centered jerk. Here is HIS quote…“I wasn’t here for the first 48 years of the program,” North Gwinnett coach Bob Sphire said. “I don’t want to put a damper on it, but I won a whole lot of regions in 21 years of coaching.” He coached my son there for two years and that was the feeling most of us had then.. After reading that, I am convinced of his arrogance now more than ever.

Congratulation to the boys and I wish you the best in the playoffs.

Hornet Dave: Collins Hill is led by Charles Perkins, a GT commitment, who rushed for over 1500 yards. Peachtree Ridge & Dacula were only schools to hold him under 100 yards. Taylor Heinecke is the Eagles QB & is fairly competent unless they run Perkins to death & get too one dimensional.
Defense is competent, but had trouble with spread option offenses (except Mill Creek).
