“To “Hiram” fans, Chamblee is a lot tougher than you might think. They are faster too. You come in this game looking ahead and your season ends Friday Night.”
What’s up with “Hiram” in quotes. We know we are just a second grade team from out in the boonies with no size, slow running backs, and no heart. We are just happy to be in the “dance”. I know we can’t rank with the lowest Dekalb County team according to these blogs, or matter of fact no one else can. Seems only place football is played is 1-AAAAA and 6-AAAA. So come on out to the westside Friday night .. Our House – Our Rules … We BELIEVE

Woodstock upsetting North Gwinnett is making me laugh out loud. They have not seen a
defense this year and will be lucky to make it past the first round.North will play the very good back-up
quarterback the first 2 games resting CJ for NSWR game which will be the first real test.
I think there is good chance we will see Lowndes and North Gwinnett in the state finals this year.
Lowdnes will be tough to beat who ever is playing them.

Sportsfan31313- If you can’t make the trip to Stephenson, I’d be honored to have you as my guest at Martin Stadium. I have two seats available if you let me know early in the week, or can get you some in another area. But I’d rather you and a guest (wife?) sit with us. I think you’ll be impressed with our stadium, band, and maybe our team. (fingers crossed!)

Hornets 2009 made a great point. Hiram is always the team that isnt going to win. The one that has no chance. The same team who at the begginning of the season you laughed caused they scheduled Harrison. We beat them. We didnt have a chance against Hillgrove. Beat them. No chance against Dalton. Beat them. Won the region championship and are the number 1 seed and now we cant beat Chamblee????…..WE BELIEVE

To TCCHS Jacket, ok I missed the number of senior starters by one, thanks for correcting me! Will Dotson’s injury slow him down on friday night?? Any information on him and others during the week is appreciated.
To 31, trust me when I tell you, Hiram aint ready for south ga football yet…you beat Dalton by only 3 points!!! We shall see in a few weeks, but if this thing plays out like I think it will, we will meet up …of course upsets happen in the playoffs…I understand that!! But I do think, barring any serious injuries, TCC will go deep in the playoffs!!!

TJ; you commented “This Friday might be a sweep by 1 AAAAA. Boy, can not wait to see blog light up if that happens. That would mean 4 AAAAA would be all knocked out.”
I say it the other way if Region 4 was to sweep the blog would light up LOL!! Look EC will give Lowndes a better game than you guy’s expect and Chapell Hill is probably playing better now than most of Region 4 teams (except them Cougars) there is alot of respect for region 1 here in the region 4 area but if someone looks ahead they can be caught looking like someone stole his Girlfriend just sayin don’t count those wins yet!!!

Oh TJ, Ask Tift about coming to Newnan they got some undue (region1) respect up till halftime then the wheels fell off
Camden came here with the weak region argument you region 1 guy’s always make and took Newnan down on the way to the Championship the region vs region argument should be squashed Most regions have 1 dominant team you guy’s have two (Lowndes and NSWR) that really is the only difference the other teams are respectable but very beatable Congrats to Valdosta they are very respected and I am sure the Newnan faithful and team know this but when kickoff occurs all bets are off and it will be like any other Friday night football game in Georgia….

Inthetrenches – I promise you Lowndes has a LOT of respect for East Coweta. They have been our nemesis many times in past years in other sports, such as baseball, girls soft ball, etc. Believe me, our football team will NOT overlook them. A very good Warner Robins team beat us up a little, and we had to play 3 quarters without three starters plus another who played on a very sore sprianed ankle. One starting wingback missed the whole game, but will be back this week. He is our leading rusher. We look for Ec to give us a very good game, but we WILL be ready!

North Gwinnett proved friday beating Peachtree Ridge 21-7 that we are up to similar caliber of teams like Lowndes, Grayson, NSWR. We are a much different — improved team than we have ever been. What are yall’s thoughts on the NG vs PR game?

Home field I think Lowndes may have the best team in the State and I thought Newnan and Lowndes were going to meet last year for the title but LHS ran into Grayson and we ran into Camden I was just addressing the dominance of region 1 thing… I think that Northside was fortunate to have some shoddy play calling by your offense at the end, that is the reason… I caution Lowndes that the game (if close) can go either way

Inthatrenches, we have respect for 1-AAAAA but they don’t respect us especially Newnan. There are 2 good teams in 1-AAAAA(NSWR and Lowdnes). The rest are suspect. Look at Colquitt County. 4-6 last year and only one victory over a AAAAA team. This year, two wins over an A and an AA opponents. This region is top two heavy and the rest are pretenders.

Jaybo I will try to keep you updated with all the injuries as I find out how serious they are. Eric Dodson injury will slow him down alot I believe but still not sure. He has a Crack in the clavicle but he has the heart of a champion and the defense is said to be the best defense to play in Thomas County Central history. Hopefully we can make deep in the playoffs but right now all we are thinking about down here in Thomasville is Alcovy because that is the first step. Every week is a new season now

ImaTitleTownBaby:
I don’t think Newnan will have any trouble with Valdosta or ML King. ML King will be a tougher contest than Valdosta but Newnan is to strong for them.
Stephenson will breeze thru Bradwell and be tested by Colquit.
North Gwinnett/ Woodstock is an exciting potential 2nd round game. one of those two will win that bracket. NSWR has an easy draw until the third round but they lose there.
Lassiter/South Gwinn may be the highest scoring game. If they both advance.
Grayson/Newnan i agree with an earlier post would probably be decided by whoever wins the coin toss for home field.
I don’t see Lowndes having any trouble until the quarter finals.

Inthatrenches – I believe region 1-AAAAA will have three teams to advance to the 2nd round. Beyond that we have to worry about Camden, McEachern, or maybe the Ridge again, before we could face Newnan. Along the way you will have to get by Grayson, MLK, or maybe Roswell.
True, I’ll be pulling for Valdosta this week, heck they’re from my county. Their team is coming around and rallying around their coach, who may be coaching his last game for them. As close as they played Northside, Colquitt, and Warner Robins, I believe they have a chance to pull off the upset. That’s all I said. A chance. I never said they WOULD.
This week all of our supporters will be concentrated on doing everything we can to show the team we believe in’em, love’em. and will be there Friday night cheering for’em.
I will leave all the other games to other posters. Frankly, other than the Valdosta and Lowndes games, I don’t care who wins any of the other games. I just hope there are no more terrible blunders that could affect outcomes of games like the one that occurred at Northside last Friday, and also I hope no player get’s hurt.
Let’s agree this is a fun time! Okay?

DavaoJeff.. Are you serious about Colqiutt beating Stephenson? I know your a HOMER but it’s most certainly you haven’t seen any football up North.. Only in the Siuth. Sorry to say but Stephenson has a very good chance to make it to the Championship game. Yes I seen the Colqiutt play yes they can pass but they haven’t faced a team with overall speed, balance, power like stepheson.. Now I am counting Branswell In. out and that will be a good game for the first half, untill Stephenson imposes there will on them, but until these teams meet, then I will give my opinion.. Anyway I will be cheering for Colqiutt to win because I want to you to make this drive to Stone Mountain DavaoJeff and cheer on Colqiutt, heck I will give you gas money for long trip home after your lose.
Heck why even play in this year Playoffs. It seem as though many of you all have Crowned Camden State Champions Already. I always thought the play is still played inbetween the hashes. I like the chances of Grayson, Camden, Stephenson, North Gwinnett. To me I think it caomes down to these two things..
1 Special Teams & Field position
2. Defense
Whichever Football team controls these two things in the next 5 games will be your State Champions.

May be easiest game Lowndes has played this year, including Woodland. I did say “may be”.
Yes I do have some respect for Newnan, but very little for the rest of the region.
But wow Newnan, how did East Coweta get 26 points on that “never gives up any points defense of Newnan”?

TCCHS JACKETS, I’m a little worried now…a cracked clavicle sounds pretty serious!!! Eric Dotson has improved soo much as the season has progressed! He runs “the offense” with precision and has become a good passer as well. I don’t have a lot of confidence in our backup QB…not b/c he lacks ability, but b/c he dont have that many reps behind center. Oh well, lets just hope Eric is a fast healer and that the defense keeps playing lights out like they have all season!!

Go UG. #14 may not be a great option QB but you should no that #5 was asked in both the Stephenson and MLK games to go in at QB and refused to. Our problem is both in coaching and having some players with this “superstar” mentality.

Marietta’s rb #21 may be the best in the region or just behind McCeachern’s Bennet. He is though, about their only real weapon.
Marietta is basically the four seed in region 5 by default . Four teams finished tied for 4th, all but Marietta lost their final game.
A scrappy, but very average team. I have only seen them once, so take it for what it’s worth.

UGParent, I did wonder if #5 or his Dad did not want him in at QB so they would not risk injury before his baseball contract. One thing that is not fair to the Coaches is that fans are not privileged to all the information that might change our opinions. If a player refused to go where I told him, I would show him the bench I don’t care how good he might be. The Coaching staff MUST HAVE CONTROL AND DISIPLINE ON THE FIELD!!!!

CCS finally posted the Marist SWD game on television last night. I was kinda surprise at Godfrey’s comment at half time about penalties when all the penalties called were so apparent. I was also amazed that Chadwick did not go crazy over the numersous face maks that were missed. PLAYERS helmets just do not come off after every play. However, SWD played a good game, but I would like to see it on a dry field.

Big J. I haven’t heard on #14 yet. Let me say first that the kid I’m going to reference isn’t my kid. If you look at our o-line they haven’t been the same since they started rotating the center position. The kid that started the season there was doing a good job and we were putting up points and then they started rotating there and we haven’t been the same since. Also this we we didn’t start #53 who has been our best o-lineman to date. I don’t know what the coaching staff is doing but they need to fix it ASAP. I agree our superstars don’t block at all for each other. I would like to see #26 get the ball some. I watched him during the JV season and that kid is a baller. Maybe we can show our backs that someone else can carry the rock.

big j, I am with you, I for one would support setting an example with these kids even if it means we lose to Windsor Forest. I watched #5 when Newton County kicked off to him; he DID NOT RUN but rather ducked and tried to go out of bounds. I am quite sure the coaching staff has this on film. Did you notice our special teams’ poor performance Saturday?
UGParent I was getting frustrated with the coaching staff BUT I have been seeing things for myself, now my opinion is changing. I want to win but these kids need to learn some life lessons.

I agree. Union Grove special teams is suspect. We can blame #14 all we want, but if he has no o-line to block, he can only do so much. Our play calling still is more predictable than a Jerry Springer show. It’s almost like the plays are scripted, and there is no improvisation or thinking anywhere. I heard that players were yelling at the coach after the game. We need to be together as a team. This Friday’s game is not a guaranteed win, at least not with the way we have been playing. I hope we can pull together and win, but for now I am not holding my breath.
