Dutchtown is the best nonplayoff team. Only 1pt in a loss to Alcovy keeps them out the playoffs. 3 losses to Griffin , Mt Zion and Alcovy, all playoff teams. Beat North Clayton. Why do you have Parkview on here they sucked this year in a bad region? Hillgrove, what a collapse. Curious as to why yoy have Cenntennial on here I thought they made it. Actually Walton is probably who you were thinking of.

Northside Observer,

Well guess what? GHSA has added to Region 3-AAAAA another new school . Please welcome Savannah Arts Academy to the Region 3-AAAAA. Their current enrollment according to the web site is 696 students. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

The only Class AAAAA schools in Region 3-AAAAA are Bradwell Institute, and Camden County. The nearest Class Class AAAAA for Bradwell Institute and Camden County to play in would be Region 1-AAAAA for Camden County, and Bradwell Institute would have to move to Region 4-AAAAA. or Region 1-AAAAA. Bradwell Institute can't drop down to Class because they are a Class AAAAA School. GHSA would not allow it. You can play up, but you can not play down in classification. So you are right Northside Observer.

To qualify my statement, below is where I got the information from.

Savannah Arts Academy: Best High Schools - USNews.com
Savannah Arts Academy. Chatham County School District Chatham County. 500 Washington Avenue ... Disadvantaged Student Enrollment (% of total), 10.2% ...

Show map of 500 Washington Ave, Savannah, GA 31405

FACT: If Warner Robins were in any other region…they’d be in the playoffs!

But they aren't so go to the playoffs in that one (Baby SEC)

TRI-CITIES SHOULD BE ON THIS LIST. SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE PEAKING COMING OFF A WIN VERSUS VILLA RICA. A 1 POINT OVERTIME LOST KEEPS THEM OUT OF THE PLAY IN GAME, NOT TO MENTION WHEN THE OFFICIATING WAS VERY QUESTIONABLE.

UNJUST,
#1 Seed or #2 does not equate into a Championship title. Schools in the southeast part of Georgia cannot help their location. The coast is not as populated as other areas. Have you looked at the number of schools in Savannah. I suggest you do that. Also take a gander at the Gwinnett schools, the more schools are built the more the talent pool is split. Back in the day, it was just Valdosta in the region they are in and Valdosta dominated every region they were in as they moved up, once Lowdnes high stood up and families started to move around, and parents wanted playing time for their kids, they moved to where that could happen. Take a look at the Gwinnett schools the talent pool is larger. Look no farther than Brookwood or Parkview, once the other schools in Gwinnett got their programs up and running, they started to siphon from these two powerhouse programs. Lately these two programs are not the cream of the Gwinnett crop, but are still formidable programs. Camden was 15-0 last year with the state title to boot playing out of the same region. Started the season against same sized schools, and ran the table in the playoffs against the same schools. In fact Camden is one of few 5A schools who play out of state schools. So your solution is to punish a program for being located 2-3 hours from other larger 5A schools, and award a more centrally located with that #1 and #2 seed.

Slow down there ole' John, betcha Hillgrove thought my old alma mater was a push over last week as well....you may (and should) win....but don't go calling teams you havent played as terrible opponents. My Pats are 4-5 this year...subpar...but far from "terrible".

Unjust Teams & TJ: If those Savannah based teams move down to AAA...they would win the AAA basketball championship every year...you have to think about the competiotion in every aport before moving up or down...eventhough they cant play no football...they can play some b-ball.

I definetely agree with Class AAA's West Forsyth and White County. But i'd love to see those two teams match up. I think the way WC anf WF are playing, that it would be a close game. White Co is good at stopping the run, and the Wing-T. They've seen it this year a few times, and even held North Hall to 38 points this season. I think White Co deserves at least the number 2. Region 7-AAA is the strongest region in 3A this season in my opinion.

Wow can you believe just a few weeks ago Hillgrove was undefeated and ranked number 4 in the rankings and now they are mathematically eliminated from the plyaoffs after 3 losses. This goes to show how playing weak teams can inflate how good you really are.

Brookwood has great talent in that area. There is no other explanation to their record other than the coaching. It all ties in to the QB situation I think. South Gwinnett picked up the QB because of it. Daddy ball the last years and this years killed season. I think after next year Brookwood will rebound.

TJ: If Camden was to move out of 3AAAAA,I doubt-the GHSA would allow the Savannah area schools to be identified at the AAAAA level. They would probably play at the AAA and AA level(as they should). Bradwell Institute would have to play AAAA for them to play near home.

Be careful what you project, Todd. There's a pretty decent chance that 2 of the teams on your AAAAA list from the same region will make the playoffs. If Pope beats Walton and Milton beats Kell, both Pope and Centennial are in.

And Centennial can still get in if Pope wins and Kell beats Milton. Centennial coaches and fans will probably be paying more attention to the results of the other 2 games than they will to their game against winless Wheeler.

Camden has weak region but won it all or goes far in AAAAA playoffs. So they are good and are deserving of playoffs. Put them in Region 1, they would still go into playoffs as one of the seeds. So to move them would weaken Region 3 worse and bump down deserving teams like Warner Robins more. Why would you do that? Think the right answer is to move in teams to Region 3 and 4 like Warner Robins and Colquitt County. I hate one and done teams in playoffs. Weakens the bracket.

Facts. AAAAA Camden County plays in an actual AAA region based on school enrollments in their region. First three games of this season were against schools their size; results...1-2 record. Points scored 67, points allowed 68. The next six games were against their region rivals; results 6-0 record to date. Points scored 313, points allowed 6. How can GHSA justify allowing a school to basically play down in competition and always get a 1 seed plus home games in the playoffs by defeating smaller schools? Other AAAAA schools do not have this major advantage. A region like 3AAAAA should not be allowed to have a 1 or 2 seed but should only be granted two #3 and two #4 seeds. Region 3AAAAA would have to split between opposing regions in the playoff. I lived in other states and followed high school football and have never witnessed such a lousy playoff format as Georgia uses. Won-Loss records for some schools mean nothing when you see how they acquired the wins. Also get rid of this 8 region system where 4 teams make the playoff. Go to 16 regions and 2 teams make the playoffs. This would allow schools more non-region games and a chance to play better competition during non-region games. Also allows the weak schools (ie Meadowcreek and most of 3AAAAA) to have a more competitive season schedule.

A little birdie told me that South Cobb is dropping down from AAAAA to AAAA region 5 next year. I know alot of players on the team and they have alot of talent with sketchy coaching but next year they will have a team full of seniors with an easier schedule so I wouldn't be suprised to see them in the playoffs next year

How is Northwest Whitfield going to miss the playoffs since they only have to beat a terrible Paulding County team at home to get in? The loser of Sequoyah-Sprayberry will be the best AAAA team not to make it to state.
