Pump the brakes. There is no way that Sprayberry beats Hiram by 20. Hiram is too good to let any team do that to them. The game friday will be good but i see it being a close, hard fought game instead of a blowout.

i say nw beats dalton, sprayberry beats hiram, spayberry beats nw, hillgrove beats dalton, sequoyah beats hiram. Dalton is the best team on paper and if they can get it together they might make a run but they are way tooooo small on the D side. 6AAAA may go 4-0 first round.

We’ll see. Hiram will just have to prove everyone wrong, again. And ill be here, not to rub it in. I have more class than that. But just to let everyone know that this is Hirams year this year.

Evans Game
Sandy Creek Game
Hiram Game

With the exception of Tucker, you have all home teams winning. Only reason you got Tucker is because they are defending State Champions and you don’t want to rule them out so soon. Statesboro, Sandy Creek and Stone Mountain can beat those teams on the road.

In that region 7AAAA mess – only the two 1’s on each side are guaranteed a spot in the playoffs – the 2 number 1’s from each side play for 1st and 2nd seed next week – all the others are ‘playing in’ to earn a spot – if Dalton were to beat Northwest Whitfield, Dalton gets the 1 spot based on point differential – and the automatic berth. NW is undefeated in the region, Dalton and Sequoyah have a loss – Dalton to Sequoyah and Sequoyah’s loss is to NW – Friday night is big this week for all 3 teams! Gonna be great big in Tunnel Hill – it’s basically a playoff game, city vs. county, plus, the winner gets the 1 seed and the automatic berth, while the loser has to win the next week to get a 3rd or 4th seed and play on the road! Friday night is big in Whitfield County! Plus, Southeast Whitfield is in the hunt for a playoff spot in their region – WOW! Y’all come on up and have some fun!

Sorry but this year our raiders wont make a post season appearance unless we win and both banneker and villa rica lose, which probably wont happen, so we will be watching from home this season. Tht loss to Alexander realy killed us cuz if we had won tht game we would be in a 3 way tie with Banneker and Villa Rica, but since thats the case, we arent seeing any playoff acton.. and to K-Man. u should probably be more worried about who ur playing in the playoffs more than bashing Mays.. just a thought…

Greetings 6-AAAA,

Evans are a one and done team.

Hiram are a young team but I will give them the edge because they are playing at home. I also look at the the teams Hiram have beaten. That is why I am giving Hiram the edge in the first round.

Sandy Creek has proven themselves to be the front runner and I just don’t believe that Loganville will beat Sandy Creek.

Guys… you are CRAZY if you see Stone Mountain beating Hiram! Stone Mountain lost to South Paulding in the preseason scrimmage and was not even CLOSE to competing with THEM and Hiram ROLLED south! No way does hiram lose this. On top of that, Sprayberry had to beat Hillgrove in OT, while Hiram beat them straight up! Hiram beats sprayberry and wins region this year. ( For the record, I went to Paulding County and I am not a hiram supporter but they are good this year. )

Go Dawgs!!!

Three teams to keep an eye on… Marist, Thomas County Central and Banneker. Marist and TCC have history on their side. Banneker should have something to prove. If they stay focused and disciplined they could wind up in the final four.

SportsFan,

I thought your predictions said Loganville over Sandy Creek? Now you change your mind?

Dawg26,
Obviously you were not at that scrimmage because if you were you would know that it was CANCELED due to LIGHTENING DELAYS at HALFTIME. South Paulding agreed to play their varsity the first quarter and JV the second. During the JV segment South’s STARTER (#5) played and thats when they scored and were up only a touchdown at halftime. Second I can tell you know nothing about football because you would know that teams change from JAMBOREES to PLAYOFFS. I wont say anything else. I know there is a fear for DEKALB Football out there, and YES Marist is in Dekalb too. Im sure you know we are not playing in a suspect region.

yea but stone mountain held there ground with tucker last friday. tucker made simple mistakes but stone mountain is a very talented team this year. so yes they will win in the first round along with tucker marist and swd. it doesnt matter what yall predict about these other unheard of teams just know come dec 11th one of these teams will be in the dome playing for state (and since ima tiger fan ill go with tucker) hell i wouldnt be surprised if two of these teams were in the dome dec 11th AGAIN!

Actually, I was at the south paulding vs stone mountain game and yes it was called at half time with south up 9-0. There was never any agreement to play ANY jv players in the first half, you shouldn’t say things just because your pissed off a dekalb team got their A#$ kicked by a redneck paulding county team, wait and see Hiram will roll Stone Mountain. As to insulting my knowledge of football, that is just pathetic. You result to a demeaning manner trying to be defensive. I’ve seen stone mountain play, they are small and can not block against stronger teams.

I’ve been following Griifin Bear football for better than 30 years and over that time they’ve put out some pretty fine teams. But I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you now that to my mind this is the best defensive unit the Bears have ever had, and with it leading the way, Griffin will make a very long run into the state buoyed by home field advantage.

Dawg26..

It is quite obvious that you have your information crossed. The head coaches at both Stone Mountain and South Paulding agreed to play their varsity players during the 1st and 3rd quarters and their JV during the 2nd and 4th quarters. South Paulding played some of their varsity players during the 2nd quarter against Stone Mountain’s JV. If you are basing your prediction on that meaningless scrimmage game, you really don’t know much about football. South Paulding was saved from an embarrassing beatdown in the second half by the lightning. They didn’t want to come back out during the second half. Trust me.

One more thing. You couldn’t have seen Stone Mountain play this year. Their offensive line averages 6′4″ 275lbs with the largest tackle being 6′6″ 315lbs. Their D-Line isn’t much smaller and they are much faster than any team in 7AAAA. You better check your sources.

Stone Mountain rolls on Hiram’s home field. Believe that!

I just want to say that Dalton and NW could go down in a flood. There fans are the most annoying in the state. Every year they talk so big and then they fall in the first/second round. 7AAAA North is a joke. How did Sequoyah get stuck in such a terrible sub region? I thought they were in Cherokee county. Sequoyah needs to come back and play the cobb and fulton schools.

So Dawg26,

You’ve seen a team for one half, at the beginning of the season, and think you know all there is to know about a team? I will say that we are both probably alittle biased about our side of town. I can understand that. Just know a few things 1) SMHS has gotten some new starters transfer in since then and 2) They have made some position changes. And understand that I am not making my assumption based on the fact that Dekalb County is a factory known for cranking ATHLETES. There is competition amongst the schools throughout our county and competition makes a better product. SMHS’s coach last year was fired because he wasnt producing and they have restructured their staff. Some of their coaches now have experience playing for coaches such as Norm Chow, Chuck Amato, Steve Spurrier, Ron Zook and Patrick Nix (look it up if you think I’m just talking). Dekalb isnt successful only because they have awesome talent, but the coaching is amongst the best in the state. I question your football knowledge because anyone who has played the game knows that you can’t say things based on JAMBOREES. Thats just like saying a NFL team that goes 4-0 in the preseason will make the Super Bowl. Your statements were just football ignorant to me.

Rome is part of 7AAAA north and normally represents well. They are out this year and thats why I said 6AAAA will probably go 4-0. Dalton has 3 or 4 D1 players on the roster but the defense is not that strong. Sequoyah dominated Dalton(won 38-16) and pretty much outplayed NW(lost 14-3). So they maybe the strongest in the north and probably be a 3 seed next week. I saw NW dominate Hiram(lost 19-7)turned the ball over 2 times inside the 10, overall 5 or 6 turnovers and had a punt blocked for a score)so I’m not buying into the Hiram is the best in the south just yet. If they beat Sprayberry who will be able to argue.

Do you really need to have kids at the school to be a fan. Nobody in my family and myself attended any classes at GT but we’re stiil fans. SWD was my high school’s bitter rival just a few miles up the street and I still would rather see them win it all this year before anyone else. This stuff is made for fun and to give your own opinion, anything further than that you’re doing too much.
