Stone Mountain understands NO STRUGGLE, NO PROGRESS. We still focused on this journey. 10-30 in the previous four years and our kids are taking on a winners mentality quickly with key players returning next year. Might be because key players are on our basketball team that has tasted some success. But keeping watching THE BIG THREE (SWD, Marist, and Tucker) we have more to do. There is so much more football to be played.

Here is a summary of the terrible loss: (1) #5 who just got offered by Ga. Tech Thursday got maybe 3 touches all game. (2) #20 who punished the Stephenson defense the entire 1st half did not touch the ball much in the 2nd half. (3) The coach wanted the parents to stay away from practice because he did not want them to distract the kids because this was such a big game and he wanted them to be focused – FOCUSED NOW COACH? (4) We made no adjustments at half time and went back to the idiotic play calling that we have done all season that these talented young men have had to play through. (5) We did not open up the playbook like the boys were told because????????????? WHO KNOWS BUT THE COACH!! These kids deserved better than this from their coach and was absolutely FAILED by him and there should be some consequences behind this incompetence.

Hey grove no doubt we’ve 2 future d1 players on offence #5 and #20 and I can count there touches on 1 hand second half 1st half stephenson was prayin we wouldn’t keep givin it to 20 we had are shot and blew it are defence was on field entire 2nd half due to offence play callin with that bein said all they did at half time was celebrate 1st half liked they won the game did they not think stephenson would make adjustments at half terrible defence scheme now we are gonna find out what we are made of if we don’t change same as last year 1 and done in playoffs and there is way to much talent on team for that

Question for those in the know a Stephenson. I saw number 56 go down with an injury in the game. What happened? Was it a cheap shot or not? Also, is that kid ok? I know he did not return to the game. Hopefully it was nothing serious and that he is good to go. Also, what about the RB that was hurt late in the 4th?
UG, your team looked good early; all of the misdirection and “trick” plays seemed to keep SHS in check, but once they started playing assignment football, your night was over.

twenty had two god runs and 5 wasnt doin anything with hthe ball. its simple stephenson came out slow and thats wat gave yall hope, any adjustmanets u made or wanted to make got out played.. stephenson was to fast and to strong there was no way you could stop them!!!!! ug good game but u kno the second have was a new game for stephenson

Mays Raiders defeated Villa Rica Wildcats last night, 38-14 in “Domecoming”. This was a very much needed win against a subregion opponent. So, could somebody answer this question for me? Since Mays beat Villa Rica, Villa Rica beat Banneker, and Banneker beat Mays, how does that work out for the #1 and #2 in 5-BAAAA?

The Grove – Let’s not put all the blame on the coaches. The fact is we got beat by a much better team. We got beat all night on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The coaches did make some big mistakes but we just simply don’t have the same kind of play makers that Stephenson does. Oh by the way I loved the way #20 showed the quaterback up on the sideline when we didn’t get him the ball in the second half. Some people need to realize that footbal is a team sport!

Last night at the Dome the team of the night is the team a lot of people have fallen asleep on BENJAMIN E. MAYS HIGH SCHOOL. The game was never close as the score at the half was 24-0. This against the #1 seed in region 5BAAAA. If the same team shows up for the rest of the season that showed up at the Dome WATCHOUT

PLEASE tell me why #5 who is absolutely our biggest play maker did not touch the ball. I am having a hard time with that one today and why we quit giving it to #20. Truth is #20 was getting positive yards going north and south. Everyone knows (well almost everyone) knows that a team cannot run east/west on a team with a lot of speed UNLESS the running team has tremendous lead blocking, we did not. When Stephenson ran to the outside they did have a good lead blocker who did his job well. Stephenson you have a good team but as you could see our guys were not the least bit intimidated; kudos to your coaching staff who did a better job at play calling than we did. Our first drive of the game was awesome but things started going wrong in the 3rd quarter when we went for it on 4th and 4, we felt like the refs spotted the ball short, about an inch too short. We proved that we did have the moxy and talent to play on the same field as a nationally ranked team; we fell short in the coaching department.

You say don’t blame the coaches, who do we blame when the coaches calling the plays don’t give the ball to our playmakers.

We were all there and saw same thing stephenson didn’t care if qb kept the ball they were hammering the back everybody knows wrong style of offence for 14 nothin against him but not a option qb put him in the spread he would be fine its simple until we start movin#5 around nothins gonna change he has been doubled the last 2 games but we don’t adjust nothin gonna change my mind #20 has to get ball more as far as stephenson bein a much better team I didn’t see it better maybe much better hardly

FOLLOW THE RULES OF MUSCOGEE COUNTY WHICH IS COLUMBUS, GA……IF YOU SIGN A TRANSFER, AND PAY A LITTLE TRANSFER Fee—–THEN YOU CAN PLAY FOR ANY SCHOOL IN MUSCOGEE (COLUMBUS) GA THIS IS WHY CARVER HAS THE BEST TEAM YEAR AFTER YEAR. JUST LIKE SHAW DID A FEW YEARS AGO. To all the Union Grove fans sorry that parents and boosters can’t make play decisions. Of course you all have some good athletes, but it all boils down to the coaches trying to please your kids when they play football. Yes no.5 No. 20. No. 71. No. 63 they are good players along with some who didn’t play in the game against Stephenson, but the fact of the matter until you let those African Americans players play at some of those skills positions and not let your personal feelings come into play and say (my son deserve to be out there), then Union Groove will always be a second or third tier team. Face it Union Grove your team is only going to be as good as your players and coaches. If I were the coach, I would put in more plays for No.5 and No. 20 and not worry about you parents because you want a balance of both blacks & whites on the field and you don’t want to blacks kids to get more publicity than white kids. you all don’t want to hear it buts it’s the truth and whether you like it or not just ask some of players on the team. This is not a disrespectful comment but this is what I heard being said by some of your players and parents

Black Angel, you are trying to make this a black and white issue and I don’t think that is the case at all. Donovan Johnson is black and he got the ball more in the second half than anyone else. I don’t remember any white kids getting the ball in the second half, do you? In all honesty I have heard that our QB’s dad is HUGE in the booster club and that is why he gets the call ahead of #5. Take black and white out of this, bottom line is that our play makers are #5, #20 and #4. I agree that we needed to throw the ball some to loosen up their defense but we needed to pound them with our running game and we didn’t.

Uncle rico….Hope after last weekend predictions that you stopped drinking the koolaid. Walton lost…and lassitter won. ROSWELL will defeat Walton this friday based on a physical defense. They can definitely score points on offense when they need to. But defense wins championships. Like I said before…I will leave playoff tickets at the gate for you.

EagleNationRising guaranteed us that Warner Robins would VIOLATE Colquitt County. H-mmmm Colquit won 17-0. I pointed out to him the fact that the AP, Chip Saye, and the AJC all picked Colquitt to win. He ridiculed me and said there was no way a Rush Propst Alabama style team could stay on the field with the relentless WR offense and the WR defense would VIOLATE Colquitt.

serious grayson hater, get a life. if you really knew anything about grayson football, you’d know we run the ball the entire game. so saying we ran up the score doesn’t make sense. its meadowcreek’s problem if they cant stop the run, i mean what are we supposed to do? kneel it every down in the second half? we had freshmen playing and the mustangs still couldnt stop us. meadowcreek should just give up football

UNION GROVE, stop WINING!!!!!!!! STEPHENSON was the better team, PERIOD! I root for neither teams, but I was at the game, and STEPEHENSON is just better. It was close the first half because yall played off adrenaline, but once STEPHENSON figured out the offense it wasnt close.

UNION GROVE, As far as yalls booster club goes, who CARES!!! Yall could have dressed the BOOSTER CLUB, THE PARENTS, AND THE PLAYERS, and yall still would have loss. They would beat yall 9 out of 10 times. It was close the first half because yall played off adrenaline, but talent took over the second half, and STEPHENSON has way more talent than yall.

UG, bad spots happen. STEPH took your playmakers out the game, not the coaches. They hit #20 every play the second half, even when he didnt have the ball. Thats how you stop the option. They made yalls qb have to beat them and he couldnt.

Football Fan, momentum swings can really deflate a team. That bad spot was a HUGE momentum swing. Here I go with “if” If we get the first down Maybe with our big adrenaline rush we score again, that keeps our defense off the field a little longer. This one was tough because we all wanted this win. Now we move on.

UG, your coach tried to adjust when STEPH shut the run down the second half. Yall passed, but UG line couldnt hold blocks, the receivers dropped passes including a td, and the qb was pressured. # 5 was covered the whole second half.

I will agree with that. Sometimes it takes a hard loss to make you better. I am anxious to see how Stephenson does in the playoffs. We HAVE to win out to stay away from playing in the same bracket with the #1 seat from Region 1.

Wow UNION GROVE if you guys are this upset after one loss you are truly going to have a riot aftet you lose your third game in a row in two weeks. This stretch of games will from now on be your reality check time every year. You will beat all of the Henry County teams, lose to both the Dekalb county teams and be one and done in the playoffs. This will forever be your lot in life no higher than 3rd place in the region. Hey maybe you can have your region changed the way you had the attendance zones changed sot that no kids from Dutchtown or Henry County High could DARKEN your doors. Just a thought.

Union Grove. I’ve been in your shoes. The only was to get better and compete on a higher level is to play on the higher level all the time. Schedule teams just like Stephenson for your non-region games. No you won’t be undefeated but com playoff time your will be tested and ready.

Outside Lookin in, you are just another ignorant racist, you just proved it. Why don’t you add up the current attendance at Union Grove, Dutchtown, Woodland and Henry County High School? You might need some help so what you do is take the first number and put it over the second number, draw a line under it and put a plus (+) sign to the left, get your total then take the next number and add to that total and so on until you get a grand total. You will probably come up with about 6,000 +/- students. Union Grove’s capacity is around 1700 students +/- dumb A@#.

As a union grove parent I wasn’t expectin to beat stephenson the bottom line until we improve on line both sides of ball gonna go nowhere as for stephenson you aint winnin nothin this year as soon as you get away from dekalb your done.to the a.d at union grove please schedule better non-region not doin any good with these cupcakes were 15-4 last to yrs and haven’t beat 1 good team
