On Colquit/Lowndes here are 2 articles
Valdosta Daily Times
http://www.valdostadailytimes.com/sports/local_story_262003658.html

Moultrie Observer
http://www.moultrieobserver.com/sports/local_story_261234916.html

Remember there are 2 types of turnovers….stupid offensive turnovers
and then defense forced turnovers.

Lowndes was up 31-0 before Colquit scored in final quarter
and Lowndes had 399 yards of offense.

Except the Northside game Colquit was with out a doubt the toughest test Lowndes has gone up against.

ENR, it was just a few short years ago that North Gwinnett was scoring at will also. They ran a spread offense with a farce of a quarterback that everyone in Atlanta hailed as the next Joe Montana. I kept telling Todd Holcomb and his cronies that Mikey would not be recruited by a major program and he wasn’t. Anyway, NG was the pride and joy of the metro and was scoring 40 and 50 a game until they came to the Concrete Palace. Since you are the statistical genius that you are, do you recall the result? Oh by the way, you sure have changed your tone from just a few days ago. WR this and WR that. Them Moultrie boys can play some ball too cant they!!

Brookwood Staff Replacement

October 24th, 2009

The fans are tired of the same old stuff that NO LONGER WORKS. If Brookwoood can’t replace their ENTIRE staff with Texas high school experienced coaches then maybe they will give the soon-to-be ex-Valdosta coach a shot. No more in-bred hiring from within at Brookwood. You no longer have the horses to run a power offense but fail to change. If you look around from the sidelines you will see plenty of available seats at a Brookwood home game now days. You’re boring fans away plus getting kicked by weaker teams!!!

I was surprised to see Grayson score but friend told me they even swapped in a Freshmen defensive lineman to not run up score. That Freshman scored taking ball away from them. Meadowcreek just does not care at this point. This is terrible to put kids through. Meadowcreek needs non region schedule, get out of 8 AAAAA.

Give it up to the Tift Blue Devils good effort……..In the first half Tift looked as if they were the #2 team in the State…….I didn’t have good feelings on the way down to Tift , Northside’s history in Tifton is just as bad or worst than in Valdosta ………The young Eagles showed up in the first half making mistakes…… In the second half they started playing Northside football and pulled it out……It only cost me about 5 years worth of aging during the first half , but I was very satisfied the way the Eagles bounced back in the second half……good win on Green street………….Northside cannot open up next week against the Demons or the week after against the Packers the way we opened up in Tifton………Colquitt has a defense now , we all might be in trouble.

If I can remember the first half of the Woodstock/MaCeahern game was some what of a defensive battle and the second half turned into a shootout ……Not much football talk from the Woodstock crew ,just rhetoric……Woodstock fans , i’m intrested in a blow by blow of the first half against the Indians……How did you guys manage to shut down the potent Indian offense for two qrts ?

Sorry if this winds up being a double post but it hasn’t shown up yet.

SERIOUS GRAYSON HATER, were you at the game? Didn’t think so. I was and Coach Conn did everything he could short of just handing Meadowcreek the ball on every Grayson possesion. With all due respect for the Meadowcreek players for doing the best they can, it is a crying shame about their program. For a 5A school, it looked like they were lucky to field 30 players – some of whom were so small they had to be freshmen. There were maybe 50 people on the Meadowcreek side of the stadium. The band came out and while small was awesome! Long and short, there just doesn’t seem to be a lot of support for football and I agree that it is time to look at moving them down in classification until they can bring the program back. It is just not fair to the kids playing their heart out.

Grayson never punted. We turned the ball over on downs to give them a shot. 2nd string was in and playing midway through the 2nd quarter. It was raining off and on all night and yet I always saw Grayson players with clean uniforms coming in. That says they were definately not starters and had not been in the game. None of us in the stands could understand why the running clock was not in effect in the 3rd quarter. Are we just supposed to tell our kids not to try? Even the 2nd and 3rd string? Ean Pemberton had his jersey and pads off with 4-5 minutes still to go in the 2nd period. Our big defensive players were standing on the steps to watch instead on playing. On kickoffs, our kicker who consistantly kicks them 5 yards deep in the end zone was taking 3 steps and kicking to about the Meadowcreek 35. He is stong enough that on the first PAT, he kicked it over the net in the endzone and bounced it over the top of the fieldhouse into the parking lot on the far side of the building! It could have easily been 100 – 0 had Coach Conn wanted it to be.

Meadowcreek had several players going both ways out of necessity. I point all of the above out not to trash talk them but just to point out that #1, Grayson tried hard not to run the score up and #2, Meadowcreek in their current state does not need to be in 5A. Nothing is accomplished in having the kids come out and do the best they can and have these kinds of results.

Best running back in the state is Charles Perkins of Collins Hill Eagles! He will be helping the Yellow Jackets of GT starting next football season. Eagles are now 7 & 1 in Class AAAAA. Shut out Mill Creek Hawks last night 35-0 and did the same to the Hawks last year 30-0. The Eagles are in the playoffs again! GO EAGLES!

Thomas County Central clinched a playoff birth last night and plays for the Region Championship this coming Friday against Westside Macon. It is going to be a big game and I dont think it will be anywhere close to like it was last year when they beat us 51-0.

Lets put McEacherns most likely playoff run to the state championship into perspective.

1st round – 4th seed region 8
2nd round – loser of North Gwinnett/Peachtree Ridge
3rd round – winner of Lowndes/Camden
4th round – winner of Newnan/Grayson
State Championship – winner of Northside/North Gwinnett/Colquit/Stephenson

Good luck McEachern because you will be facing a gauntlet of teams
that do know how to play defense and can run with your offense
and will hit you in the mouth and make you think twice before you
attempt to catch the next pass.

And most of them play just a little offense too and are very capable of putting up some serious points themselves.

To “Marc”, do you seriously think Tuckers 38 to nothing loss to Marist was closer than the score indicates. You sound like the other blogger on here supporting Stone Mountain “DATBOIDAPIRATE” who bragged that Stone Mountain scored the most points against Marist in their lopsided blowout loss. I guess you guys are conceding that you dont really have a chance at the state title this year if you can take pride or find anything dignifying in those 2 blowout not closer than the score indicates losses. Come on guys, “man up” accept that you got your butts whipped and get it together and represent Dekalb with some competitive football.

Stone Mountain is the real deal. They went toe to toe with the defending state champs. For those who believe that Tucker is soft, you don’t know much about football. The game could have went either way and it was one of the best games this weekend. Don’t underestimate these two teams.

Region 6AAAA is by far the toughest region in the state and they will be tough to beat in the playoffs.

Unfortunately both teams will have to settle the region championship on the last friday of the regular season after beating walton this coming friday. Uncle rico, I will leave 1st & 2nd round playoff tickets for you at the gate at Roswells Ray manus Stadium. Go roswell!!!!!!

@SERIOUS GRAYSON HATER – I have tried twice with somewhat lengthy explainations for the score but they did not get through for some reason. I’ll make it short and say that Grayson did everything short of coming off the field totaly to keep the score down. The Meadowcreek kids just couldn’t keep up. The program really needs to get some help. It is a shame that a 5A school cannot generate more interest in the football program.

As to your other comment, some of the kids probably are rednecks based on the trucks in the parking lot but I really doubt any of them are hillbillies! :)

GO UG!

Good job Stephenson, your running backs ran hard and they fought for extra yardage, great team and band. I cannot for the life of me figure out why we did not use our playmaker #5. You cannot run east/west on a team with the speed Stephenson has. We were in the game until midway 3rd quarter when we came up short on 4th down, it went south from there. Defense played hard but you have to stay home on those corners.

Do you recognize the reaction time of those defensive ends and defensive tackles. Stephenson has the total package offensively and defensively.
