I am a North Georgia fan of atlanta football; but I tell you guys that Colquitt County is going to surprise alot of people even thought lowndes beat them 30-6 colquitt county threw and ran the football against these guys; lowndes did not beat these guys; these guys beat themselves with fumbles in the red zones; not making any excuses this team have proven itself to be a powerhouse and I bet you my life that this team is going to give Northside W.R. Hell; Northside my hat's off to you but Colquitt County gotten better and it is going to be very tough; no one is paying a attention watch out for Colquitt County This year folks.

The handshake between Conn and Crews did not take place last year because the Grayson fans stormed the field. The coaches were busy addressing the safety of the players, which should be their first priority. I know that Bwood will not storm the field, so hopefully the handshake will take place between both teams.

randy p,

What Camden County not playing any tough teams has to do with them playing great football? What was the excuse when they won an undisputed state title last year?

I still say Lowndes is the team you will see in the dome. Grayson is riding an easy schedule. I love Camden, but Grayson saw a weak Camden in the dome, plus they don't play any tough teams. Wait till Nov. then the cream will rise to the top. Gotta love highschool football.

Sanity Rules, I believe that the former LDN sports editor I referred to is now with the Newnan paper. Just for kicks and giggles, why not ask him to post the letter that he sent to the fine people of Tifton, Ga. following the 1983 loss?

Sanity Rules, 1983 state title game. I was in the press box sitting near Coach Pat Dye and Coach Bill Curry for pre-game. As you are aware the game was played in LaGrange. The Grangers had been dominent all season, beating Clarke-Central who was ranked #1 nationally at the time. The Grangers had 2 first team Parade All-Americans: QB Vince Sutton and the late Nate Hill.(I believe that the Grangers were nationally ranked #8 at the time.) I made the reference to the 2009 LaGrange vs. Newnan game as being the first time since the 1983 game against Tift County when I knew for a fact that the Grangers would lose and lose badly. The quickness of the Tift County players during warm up was obvious. The Tift County fans were LOUD and there were lots of'em. There were news helicopters flying overhead. The Grangers were heavily favored. During pre-game, I asked Coach Dye, "Coach, what do you think about the game?" His answer was, "Son, this ain't gonna be no game.Tift County is way stronger than LaGrange". I concurred. After pre-game I sat next to the late Coach Oliver Hunnicut for the first half. All he could do was shake his head at the pathetic play of the Grangers. He left at half time after bidding "goodbye" and saying: "Son, this game is over." To sum up, the LaGrange program had been down since around 1959. Not much to brag about. This was the Grangers' first BIG game since 1958 (when they won the state title over Decatur). But to get back to your question as to "what happened?" The atmosphere was foreign to the Grangers and the young coaching staff led by a young Danny Cronic, whom I admire greatly were simply not ready for a game of this magnitude. The players became unglued as well as some of the assistant coaches. One could observe Coach Cronic trying to settle down not only the players, but the assistant coaches as well. Bottom line was that 1983 LaGrange was capable of playing Tift County a much more competitive game. Could have even been a close game. But Tift County brought a battle tested team that was unintimidated by the bigness of the event. The Grangers simply played a horrible game and lost to a better team. There were only 2 things that left a bad taste in my mouth after the game: 1-How Coach Gene Brodie shamelessly ran up the score on a thoroughly beaten LaGrange team. 2-The disgusting letter written by our LDN sports editor to the Tift County paper following the game. As for 2009 Newnan, my feelings were the same, but for different reasons. Newnan just looked impressive.LaGrange Looked like a D-II college team going up against Florida. Luckily for LG it was only an 11 point loss.

RealityBites, as grayram points out above, #24 is at 829 yards so far. And that is with him sitting at least 4 quarters due to the score being too high and the second/third strings going in. Unlike some, Coach Conn doesn't believe in running the score up just to win by 50-60 points. At 9:16 you also said that WR is undefeated - on 9-4-09, Grayson beat WR 10-0 at Grayson. Not sure where your numbers are coming from.

You know, I wasn't too sure about the Rams having arrived at the big time but I am now convinced they have. After all, if you are not the top dog, no one cares enough to talk smack about you! :)

The Rams are taking it one game at a time. While their schedule after this Friday may have turned out to be somewhat easier due to other teams having an off year (but never make the mistake of looking past your current opponent!), the first part of the schedule has been tough. I think it takes a lot of guts to schedule the defending state champions and other perennially strong teams for non region games. For Grayson to be a relatively young program AND having gone through a redistricting split this year to feed the new Archer High School (1,000+ were supposed to transfer), I think the coaching staff and young men of the team have done quite well for themselves.

See y'all at the game Friday night!

Pemberton is an amazing player. When you see how much smaller he is than the players he's running thru its really hard to believe how many yards he gets after contact. Some colleges out there need to wake up and notice this kid. You can't beleive the amount of heart he plays with.

Really good considering once Grayson is shutting a team out #24 is taking out of the game. He didn't even play the entire 2nd half against Shiloh.

I never said we have a hard schedule here on out. i was commenting on the overall easiness of their schedule... playing a mediocre AAA team is almost unfathomable at this level of play, u put grayson or lowndes or camden or even northside the AAA team doesnt stand a chance. And drock 09, never said any of that stuff, said that your defense has yet to see an offense like graysons and wil not until a possible matchup in the playoffs and if i recall camden showed you how it was done last year. The ogletrees are amazing but they are 2 players, you should no that doesnt make the team... Also if your going to throw stats at me please try and do it with a respectable opponent such as camden (which GHS22 did) not lagrange

I never said we have a hard schedule here on out. i was commenting on the overall easiness of their schedule… playing a mediocre AAA team is almost unfathomable at this level of play, u put grayson or lowndes or camden or even northside the AAA team doesnt stand a chance. And drock 09, never said any of that stuff, said that your defense has yet to see an offense like graysons and wil not until a possible matchup in the playoffs and if i recall camden showed you how it was done last year. The ogletrees are amazing but they are 2 players, you should no that doesnt make the team… Also if your going to throw stats at me please try and do it with a respectable opponent such as camden (which GHS22 did) not lagrange

Realitybites

He has a 1000 already as well.......
Maybe you don't know how rankings work, but if you beat the higher ranked teams (state or national) you move up!!! SIMPLE. Grayson is proving themselves right now.

Yes region 8 is better than 5. S.gwinnett, parkview, and brookwood would beat any team in Reg 5, and Grayson has already beaten E. Paulding and Mceachern!!

and if you get out of the first round you still have NSWR or Lowndes to deal with. We should make quick work of your #4 team!

Lol! Ohhhhhh, I see now, you were talking about NORTHSIDe.. We are NOT WR! That will spark A LOT of emotion, lol! But still.. There was a post boasting how Grayson beat WRHS in our beloved Houston county.. And NS fans could care less about that fact.

I hope everyone the Indian's face think they are the same team as last year and that region 5 is a joke. If so, those teams will get a slap in the face of reality that this years team has no resemblence of the team that finished 5-5 last year, or the team that played snap for snap with the mighty Grayson in the dome but lost by 10 while running a new offense and defense.....

Yes, I know the Indians are region 5. Are you really going to say that region 8 is better than 5? You are dilusional. The Indians dismantled region 8's Broncos in the dome. The score was closer than it really was after a late surge against the back-ups...

And wait until next year to talk? I'm sorry, I must have missed that state championship trophy you have over there... Last I checked, the Indians were undefeated as well. And unlike yourself, the only polls that matter to us are the ones that come out in December... We will see what happens in the playoffs. If the sites are right, Region 5 #1 gets region 8 #4 first round. And it could be set up that you have to go through all the teams you are calling out to just get to the dome.

And you still haven't answered my question about how many yards your 2,000 yard rusher has up to this point....

K-man, thanks for the good points compliment.

I never said Grayson is better than any team, I realize this is HS and any team can be beat at anytime. if you read any of my past post I talk about the teams Grayson has beating in defense of where we are in the rankings today. (present) So just so you know The top spot belongs to Grayson now because of the last season and the present one. so others are looking back in the past alittle to.

oh Lowndes has lost 2 in the last two seasons......

Realitybites..........if this post was just talking about this year, then very few people would be talking. Fact is Grayson CAN talk about this year and last year!!! The other teams can't!!!!!

And as far as this year, Mceachern is in Region 5!!!!!! so just enjoy your record so far this year. Maybe at this point next year you can talk, once you have been consistant.

07 Grayson 10-3 08 Grayson 13-1 09 Grayson 6-0 and still climbing, not to mention the top state ranking right now!!

congrats to your RB's award this week, Alongside Coach Conn (of grayson)

If there was a field goal kicker anywhere in Lowndes county NSWR would have two losses and be needing help to get a home playoff game! My suggestion for Lowndes and Valdosta is to check the girl's soccer teams. Seriously, ever see girls shoot free throws? A girl would definitely do better than what you got, what is it like 2 for 12 and 1 for 9?

GHS#22...you make a good point in talking about the past and the present teams of LOWNDES...however...(remember) you also said that GRAYSON has TWO good seasons! Lets discuss them please...#1 GRAYSON (past) team went 13-1...and NO CHAMPIONSHIP...#2 this years team is 5-0 so far...So my point is...UNTIL this (present) team of GRAYSON wins a championship...they are no better than the rest of the top ten or anybody else that made it to the semi-finals! It seems everybody wants to reward GRAYSON a ring of some-kind without them actually doing the WORK! (PAST or PRESENT)

GHS #22 -

Don't realize Grayson has played Lowndes, WR, and McEachern this season. Last I checked, WR and McEachern are undefeated and Lowndes has only one loss, to WR. How then are your Rams still undefeated as well. OHHHHHHH, you must be talking about the past. I get it now. The past means squat! If this was last year, McEachern would be 3-3 right now and go on to finish 5-5 and they wouldn't even be mentioned in this discussion. Let's stick to this year....

Just wondering, how many yards does your 2,000 yard rusher have as of today? I think the back from McEachern is sitting over 1,000 through 6 games. And I think he has around 16 td's....

Okay guys, enough about the Lowndes-NSWR game. It's over, the score won't change, 2 Oct. 2009 will never come again. As we said in the Marines---I got another battle to fight on the next hill. That hill for NSWR is Coffee. For Lowndes--Valdosta? In any event, NSWR, Lowndes, Grayson,Brookwood, Newnan fans, etc. need to worry about this week's game. Don't get complacent because of your team's early success--There is still a lot of football to play in 2009...

First of all some of you guys were online way too late last night............

Yes Grayson's schedule is very weak from here on out, but that's not their fault. Those kids play who they are asked to.

Let's not forget, Grayson has beaten McEachern, WR, Lowndes, Camden Co, E. Paulding, and Brookwood. they had beaten S. gwinnett and Parkview with their spread offense. they didn't lose alot of key players this year, they still have a 2000 yard rushing RB, 4 D-1 players on defense, allowed only 1 passing TD, 7 interceptions, and given up only 26 points in 6 games. to top it off, a coach with intergity enough not to run up the score on a defenseless team.

I'm not a "shoulda, woulda, coulda" kinda guy, but Lowndes' kicker missed 3 FIELD GOALS, if he makes ONE, or in my opinion, if the coach would have fed franklin the ball down the stretch, the outcome, MIGHT have been different...Northside is legit. Lowndes is legit. Even Camden is legit come playoff time.Graysons remaining schedule has 4 teams with 3 wins between them (all by brookwood) lol. I still dont buy the Camden win. I'd put more weight on the Warner Robins win that I would Camden. Like i said earlier, is there a another region in the state with THREE winless teams at this point??? This year's playoffs are going to be very interesting with AAA shaping up to have some intriguing matchups...

Lowndes you are what we thought you were overrated, untested, and suspect on the road, this ain't your year. Saying that though NSWR better be careful the rest of the year, there are a lot of good teams
ahead in thier schedule and they better improve each game to go far in the playoffs. GO EAGLES!

Slalom 1..........This is 2008 again with your Newnan Projections.....They had the best defense last season as well ,until Camden County came to Newnan and the Cougars were exposed ,and the whole State of GA saw in Live and Living color the type of team they really were . Yes 2008 Camden was a very good team , but in the previous weeks Northside and Woodstock game the Cats all that they could handle......Slalom 1 ,If Region 1 were full of Hoco like Calibre teams Northside would look to be the best defense in state....If Region 8 were full of Bermar types Grayson woulnd't have had 27 put up on their defense ,and they are one of the best in State..........Region 4 are full of Mediocre teams , and not a single person will take any team from this region seriously until the playoffs rolls around, Not even Newnan

ENR go back to your meds.

First you compare Lowndes as over rated
and then you say your schedule is so tough because Lowndes is on it.
And all of this in the same run on post.

Pick a side of the fence and get on it ENR.

Ketaboon............This one won't be close..I'd say Peach 28 Cairo 7....And you are correct ,Peach County is complete as any in the State in any Class.....I will tell you the truth ,Although Northside scrimmaged Peach ,if it were a real game , Peach would have won.... Peach is AAA and they are the best team ive seen on the field this year , and ive seen Lowndes ,Westside ,Grayson ,Warner Robins ,Carver ....I don't think would have trouble with either of these teams.

I believe many of us on here, myself included, have players involved in these programs, and there is no reason to ever call out any individual palyers, unless in a positive light.

grayson student. You are right Newnan doesn't stand a chance against grayson. Newnan defense was overmatched against Lagrange. Lagrange had a total of 78 yards of total offense and two first downs. Lagrange kicker kick 3 long field goals and they scored on an int by their linebacker. Also the ogletrees are not that good!

sanity rules... since you "got this" please explain what your team has proven this season. could it be one of the easiest schedules in the state? Possibly even the impressive start against a AAA school who put up 15 on that such vaunted defense and you only beat a AAA team by 11??? seriously? But o ya thats right yall have gods chosen one over there with ogletree, man he must be a game changer... only problem with that, lowndes had even more of a dynamic game changer in reid last year and what happened? we ran right at him allllll night and he couldnt stop it, i can assure you that the un tested defense of newnan will not be able to either...but hey please keep being y, get those stats nice and padded for the playoffs. with such a hard schedule left (teams combined for 12 wins) yall are assured to be ready to play the big boys

Who in the heck is the poster "Reality" from October 6. His post calling out specific high school players is classless. It is sad to hear a poster call out players and say that they suck. I am all for teasing coaches, who are adults. However, to call out high school players is a little over the top. It is very disappointing. My guess is it is a parent of a disgruntled player who is riding the bench.

Yo, you continue to crawl from under your rock to bash programs that a better than your beloved Vikings. Let me rephrase myself, those teams are not necessarily better from a talent standpoint. Lowndes County is the new version of the old Southwest DeKalb teams. All the talent, but never quite up to the task.

Grayson has earned their ranking. End of story. They performed well defeating Lowndes County in last year's playoffs. They also beat Camden, although unimpressively, in the Georgia Dome at the Kell Classic. Camden was ranked nationally at the time. When you beat two nationally ranked teams twice in three games, you deserve credit.

I will echo Todd Holcomb (for once). When you are the top team in Georgia, you are one of the top teams in the nation. North Gwinnett beat a nationally ranked team, too. By the way, if Eagleforlife asks for clarification on why a team is ranked that is not hating.

It is up for debate as to whether Grayson has play a more challenging schedule than Northside. I will go on record and say that playing against Carver-Columbus, at Valdosta, and beating Lowndes County takes the cake for challenging schedule. Anyone who thinks that Carver-Columbus is not the real deal, you are fooling yourself. If Carver does not win the state championship in AAA, it is coaching. End of story.

They performed well defeating Lowndes County in last year’s playoffs.

Decatur for Life: I haven't seen P-Ridge play but they did give up 51 points to Lowdnes. I saw Gaineville play and I have no doubt there are more than 20 schools better . Remember they are a AAA school and if highly unlikely they could compete with the bigger schools.

SERIOUS GRAYSON HATER: Don't worry about Grayson. If they stay where they're presently positioned, it will on the Newnan side of the playoff brackett. We will take care of them. Just chill ,we got this.

Slalom, being a young man back in 1983, I debated whether to go to LaGrange and watch them play Tift County. I didn't but how in the world did they get beat that bad? Having watched them play that season ,it was truly amazing how they lost.
Drock09 did the voodoo last year and believe me he's at it again. We are loaded again. Haven't seen all the teams but I like our chances as this might be the year finally.

Mceachern is a state contender that is under the radar most of the points teams have gotten on them have been off huge spebreakdowns in special teams, but they are very well coached and have an amazing offense lead by one of the best rb's in the state and their defense doesn't give up many big plays

Alright DROCK09, Don't start this voodoo stuff this early in the season.lol. You and I both know that the Cougars are capable of FINALLY taking it ALL THE WAY.
Newnan should have had no less than 2 previous state titles had it not been for just bad luck.(maybe 3). I can see that you are already in post season "voodoo mode". Admittedly, I have not seen as many teams as in years past this season, But I have seen Northside. If Newnan and Northside were to play tomorrow, here is what I think the score would be: Whoops, I almost did it again. NO MORE prognosticating. But my money would be on Newnan. Hands down the best defense in the state, an offense that is more than capable of scoring on any defense and then there is Ransby. I like the chances of the 2009 Cougars. Pretty sure I have said this before, but here goes again: Only once in my life of following GHS football have I watched pre-game and was certain of the outcome before the game started. Those 2 games were: the 1983 state title game between LaGrange and Tift County and the 2009 game between Newnan and LaGrange.
This could and SHOULD be the year of THE COUGARS. Best of luck.

Grayson can beat Lowndes because Lowndes is too one dimensional with not much of passing game. Northside exposed them last week. They play a team that plays with pride and discipline like Northside and the best they can do is 7 points? Lowndes is good but there are several teams in North Georgia that are good enough to beat them. To K-Man: I dont think Northside Warner Robins would be considered a south Georgia team. The blowouts ended when they played a team that was not intimidated by them. I am not a Lowndes hater and anybody who puts their hopes in those computer rankings, I am here to tell you that on the high school level they dont mean nearly as much as with college or professional football.

Grayson hater...your so ignorant. Demographics for Grayson is diverse as they come.

South Gwinnett does not have a defense to compete like their offense can. Too unbalanced to go deep in playoffs.

North Gwinnett is the team everyone needs to watch out for. Including Grayson. Total team that can pick you apart or run. Defense is strong and has depth.

Check out Massey rankings

http://www.highschoolsports.net/defaultcal300x250.cfm?ct=stateratings&conftodisp=Georgia&spt=4&lvl=-1&division=1&timeoffset=240

Grayson ranked 4th. Lowndes, NSWR, and North Gwinnett ranked above them. I think it is a toss up, it all depends on pairings in the playoffs.

Slalom now you know better than that! Averaging out the offensive points of Lowndes 4 losses and deciding from just those 4 games they need to rethink their offense. Do you really need me to go there?
Question, should Northside who only scored 10 points in their win rethink their offensive philosophy? Second question, how many points has the Wing T averaged in Lowndes last 3 State championship games they have played in? In 2 of those games the first string was either out real early or a little early.

One note though...in case you didn't notice Lowndes did pretty much abandon the Wing T against Northside from the latter part of the second quarter and for the rest of the game and was much more successful in doing so.

I wonder which hillbillie red neck broke Parkview's QB jaw? He must have been watching too much WWF wrestling Monday night! I will be rooting really loud for Brookwood Friday night. I hope they put a slamming on GRAYSON!

leechampion, Aside from Carver's tremendous advantage in overall size and depth, I believe that both teams share one thing in common: Neither team has yet reached their full potential. Should that happen, LaGrange and Carver are both capable of playing with any team in the state. The Grangers have once again been bitten by the injury bug. QB Jamius Gunsby (6'5 229) has been playing with an injured foot. He is a tremendous weapon for the Grangers and could be the difference in the game when he is healthy. You brought up Carver vs. Troup. I have no explanation as to what happened to Troup at "the house of pain" against WACO. But make no mistake, like Carver and LaGrange, if Troup can reach their full potential they are capable of taking on anybody. I am attempting to make the game Friday and sit on the Carver side, but work may cause interference. Should I show up I will bring the left over barbecue sandwiches from the Newnan game. LOL. By the way, I agree. Crowell is amazing.

You brought up Carver vs. Troup. I have no explanation as to what happened to Troup at “the house of pain” against WACO.

YO, Seems that you have lost credibility with your recent prediction: Lowndes 14 NSWR 0 1st quarter. lol. But what about poor Slalom1? Predicted a final of Lowndes 41-7 over Northside. LMAO. I don't believe my predictions are going to be taken very seriously by many as well. Having said that, here is the way I see it: Lowndes is not unaccustomed to losing a game early in the season only to roar back with a state title. i.e. 2005, embarrased by Ware County 28-7, then went on to greatness. 2007, lost to Harrison then followed up with yet another state title. I hate whipping a dead horse but here goes: "What is the common thread in the 4 most recent losses by Lowndes,(excluding 2006)? Answer: Offense was shut down. 28-7 Ware Co, 9-0 Harrison, 17-7 Grayson and 10-7 Northside WR. In other words during seasons where Lowndes had a championship caliber team and yet lost, the average offensive output was 5.25 points per game. Don't you think that maybe it is time to re-think the overall offensive strategy? UH....Wing-T?

Brookwood - 17
Grayson - 10

GO BRONCOS!!!!

In Grayson defense..........as for as the passing game, there has been 8 attempts to go deep on Grayson..........one score, and 7 interceptions!!!!!

So if you are going to pass stick with the underneat routes!! But I'm sure Coach Conn is working that out as we speak.

BullDawgfan,

Please re-Read my comments.... I did not say that Region 1-AAAAA can BEAT ALL the Metro Atlanta Teams. I said For the North Georgia Fans, In Class AAAAA you have Grayson in the North Metro Area, and then everybody else. Which means following behind Grayson. I can’t say that for South Georgia tough. You have sooo many that is neck and neck. Of course, you have Northside Warner Robbins, Lowndes County, Colquitt County, and Warner Robbins that will can "Deal" with a "lot" of those Atlanta Metro area Schools Convincingly. Where in that did I say ALL?

ya thats why i said NG would be a good match up for Grayson. North has 1 oline man commited to Alabama and another who is looking at every major SEC school. Our qb is a major recruit for the jr. class. and our defense is stout as well. We are balanced while South Gwinnnett can ONLY pass. your right Grayson probably has the best ball control in the state that grinds out defenses. these matchups lead to a great game.

GHS#22 Says:

SportsFan31313, N. Gwinnett is ranked higher than the schools you mentioned. (except Lowndes) Norcross,Parkview,Brookwood all have state titles. P tree ridge is always a contender, and even Collins Hill is undeated. So North GA is powerful. Even the smaller schools, Budford, Gainsvilles, Applachee could play with any South GA school.

Everyone saying grayson has been exposed is correct... however like one of the comments said the state noticed and so did grayson. Best believe after brookwood this week they will start workin on it. there last 3 games are berkmar central and meadowcreek who all are winless. As to the comment saying all u need is passing that is false. First you need an o line that can hold off the strength of our defense which is the line. You also need a qb who can scramble and better be ready to take a hit... parkviews qb got his jaw broken, and your defense better be able to stay on the field all night cuz the best defense is a good offense and i think theres no doubt that grayson has one of the best ball control offenses in the state if not the best

GHS your exactly right. grayson is built to play almost every team in ga high school football. a great team in the trenches that plays smashmouth football. Clock control and a strong defense leads to winning a high number of games. even if they dont look impressive because they are close. teams like NG and South Gwinnett match up to the weakest part of your defense which is the secondary. these are the only 2 teams in atlanta that i know can consistently pass well. I think a grayson NG matchup in the dome would be a very fun game. Both coaches are extremely good but have different philosophys. Hopefully we can see that match up theres still a lot of football left

to be honest I would rather play Lowndes again. We have plenty answers for the run.

N. Gwinnett and S. Gwinnett I worry about!! the good news is that both will be in another bracket and we wouldn't face them until the dome.

Say what you want, this diehard eagle do not wish to play Lowndes anytime soon. If there are better teams than Lowndes or Carver of Columbus, I need to go to their games. Besides being Athletic, Carver is the biggest team I have seen this year. The eagles will mature by play-off time.

you must have been joking if you think ALL of the region 1AAAAA teams can beat the atlanta powerhouses. only 2 can and thats lowndes and northside. and even those two arent any better than atlantas best teams. Its any teams year to win state. there is no 1 team this year in ga above and beyond the others. playoffs should be fun

You heard it here first:

Brookwood -3
Grayson - 26

BTW, #32 for the Broncos is Nick Thompkins (sp?). He is the real deal.

Brookwood Mom: I don't look forward to the next two seasons with Nick running the ball for the Broncos. Is he playing cornerback this year?

Northside will be the school that is the least affected by the new school in Warner Robins. The school is actually being built in Bonaire, and Northside students live in the city limits of Warner Robins. Students that live in Bonaire attend WRHS and HoCo. Some busing occurs to handle evening out racial and socioeconomic issues, however, Northside will not be largely affected by the zoning.

For the North Georgia Fans,

In Class AAAAA you have Grayson in the North Metro Area, and then everybody else. I can't say that for South Georgia tough. You have sooo many that is neck and neck. Of course, you have Northside Warner Robbins, Lowndes County, Colquitt County, and Warner Robbins that will can deal with a lot of those Atlanta Metro area Schools Convincingly.

Kman,

I am from South Georgia, and it is not a surprise that Northside Warner Robbins beat Lowndes County. I was not expecting it and a lot of others didn't either. Last week was definitely a week of upsets in all Classifications. This is Georgia Football, and any given Friday or Saturday under the Lights, a great football team can be beaten. Now Region 1-AAAAA is definitely an example of that. All of the Teams in Region 1-AAAAA has the ability and talent to beat each other, too include to beat some of the Perinnial Powers in Nortth Georgia. So it's not a surprise.....

K-man, TWO great season!

Anyway, it's funny that people always get caught up on a teams PAST performance, (old championships don't count) we are talking about now......the present teams, the present games, the present players.

Scroll up a bit to 2:18pm, yesterday's comment by Todd Holcomb, he summed it up best. Present day Grayson has stepped to the challenge, beating over the last two seasons all the teams that mattered. INCLUDING Lowndes. (opps there I go talking about the past)

Those boys that played on Lowndes past championship teams are gone!

LOWNDES losing to NORTHSIDE is not really an upset. It takes another team from the south that powerful to beat them. If it were VALDOSTA, COLQUITT, or CAMDEN,...thats not a real surprize! What is a surprize...is how GRAYSON is getting all of this attention and they havent done anything yet! WIN A CHAMPIOSHIP first...then give them some credit....until then...all they have done is have a great season just like any other team or the championship loser!

Well I don't think so.. With that lost in Georgia's Toughest Region, I believe Lowndes County has a wake up call.... They will not lose any more games.....
