Eagle Nation Rising: As a long-time Northside fan who has supported our team in many ways over the years, I beg you, I implore you … please shut up. You are an embarrassment to our program with your endless rantings and claims and boasts about your knowledge and even your own education. You probably don’t know this, but most of us consider all of your crap to be a serious insecurity problem with yourself, and it is obviously pathological.
If you’re going to post, just once, please JUST ONCE … say something nice and positive about our players who work so hard to entertain us.
And don’t say another word about any streak! Last year you set us up for a big loss at Lowndes, and you’re doing the same thing this year.
PLEASE … take this as a personal challenge and just resist the urge to continue with more of your crapola postings. We are going to kick every else’s butt in 1AAAAA.lol Really, I jsut want to make the play-off because by that time our very young team would have matured. Head East – If you are bringing the band your overflow will be in the end zone. They pretty much separate the home fans and visitor fan’s entrances, and are fussy about re entry.

Pops (Big Pappi) – If you went to McE game you know they have pretty large visitor side and it wasn’t completely packed but pretty close. McE guy said it was the largest visitor crowd they’ve had in a long time. We always bring the band, so it sounds like get there early or hug the fence or go to the end zone. I usually don’t like end zone but if East is going that way at least there’ll be a lot of scoring!!! Seriously, looking forward to a close, hard-fought game and being really happy on the way home!

HeadEast – The band will take up a about a third of the bleacher’s to give you an idea. A seat or standing on top of the visitor section is a good view, but you will need to get your spot early. You probably won’t want to stand in the endzone, as I suspect Etowah will be punching it in. I however may be down there. As I have always said, I like to be close to the action, perhaps on the field itself. Sometimes it’s who you know.
Try not to be that sad on the ride home. It is a long ride. You will start to feel better in a few days.

ProudEagle: I beg false Eagle posters to stay with their own schools. I know that there is no such thing as a person who ever walked the halls of Northside High School, who would exhibit their “Northside Pride” in the manner that you did.
I am a real Northside alum. At our school, you are taught to always believe. It has translated into competitive teams in every level of competition within the Georgia High School Association. ProudEagle, I am officially calling you out a the Northside Fraud that you are.
Northside will not be “Peachtree Ridged” by any program in this state or any other. Our Northside Eagles, although young, will put their “Northside Pride” on full display Friday night.

Yo: Did you identify that game from me? You got awfully quiet. I assumed you had gone into hiding to do a little research. Have you found one big regular season road win from the Lowndes County Vikings since the turn of the century? Do you need a little more time?
You are fooling yourself if you believe that Northside is going to get “Peachtree Ridged” and give up 14 points over the first couple of minutes. You have Northside confused with some metro Atlanta program that you guys have pushed around.
The time for Yo, Lowndes posters, and other Lowndes bandwagon posters to disrespect Northside and the home prowess of the Big Blue has come to an end. Yo, what are you going to do should the IMPOSSIBLE happen and Northside wins (as Northside always does at home)? What will you do then, considering that Northside is a team full of sophomores and juniors? That would signal a few years of EAGLE DOMINATION.
Lowndes loses to Northside at the MAC and gets caught in a serious situation against Valdosta. You heard it from me, Yo.

NorthsideObserver: You are correct. This young team has been tested early and will be ready late. No matter what happens. Nonetheless, I have no evidence to expect anything short of Northside playing VERY WELL at the MAC. If we judged our program’s chances based upon how badly our opponents beat up on some poor Atlanta program (as Lowndes hammered Peachtree Ridge), we would not have even played some games against Warner Robins when the Demons were really rolling and hanging 50 points on metro Atlanta programs. The way I remember it, those WRHS teams were just as human and stopped running so hard when hit directly in the mouth. My guess is one might say the same about Lowndes County after Friday night.
Northside will not be “Peachtree Ridged” by the Vikings. Lowndes County is suspect on the road and have been for years. It is probably due to how far they have to travel, practically living in North Florida. No matter what these guys say, the Vikings do not play like Vikings on the road.

Boy, there is real slim pickings in Gwinnett this week. Brookwood-Meadowcreek, Parkview-Central, Shiloh-Grayson & South-Dacula. Brookwood can name the score versus the Mustangs, same for Parkview against Central & Grayson against Shiloh. South-Dacula may be the best game, but that’s not saying much. Can’t wait for next week for Grayson-Brookwood & Region 7-AAAAA swings back into action.
I hope the Lowndes & Northside folks will be back next week & hope whoever loses will not join the Witness Protection Program. Good luck to all parties.

The enrollment advantage enjoyed by Lowndes WILL be the difference in the game. (about 900 if my math is correct). In order to have a fair fight, why not allow Northside to suit up all the starters from say Calhoun or Fitzgerald just to level the playing field.(The enrollment numbers at either of these 2 schools would make up the difference that powerful Lowndes has over everyone else in Region 1AAAAA. Given that scenario, what would be the chances for Lowndes?

ENR – You’re just scared and we understand. Just man up and say you’re scared. Fact is this year looks just like last year for the Lady Eaglettes. After cruising to 30-0 and two championships you had to move up and play the big boys. Now you can’t get past Lowndes and that means some weak sister like Westlake and then a second round trip back to Camdem county where you can’t win either.

BulldawgBite, Granted Grayson pulled a major upset in 2008, but have so far been less than impressive in 2009. Honestly, even in 2008, do you believe that Grayson could have whipped Lowndes in a best 2 out of 3? I don’t think so. As for the others, history is simply not on theri side. NONE of the teams listed as “no way” have EVER come through in the clutch. I believe that P’Ridge and McKeachern are the only 2 to make a state final only to lose. P’Ridge has already lost to Lowndes 51-17. Come on. Would you bet on P’Ridge? It is gonna be either Lowndes, N. Gwinnett, Newnan or Camden Co.(not necessarily in that order.) uh…Have not completely given up on Valdosta.

Slalom I agree with only a handful winning aaaaa. I think there are 5 teams camden the defending champs. Lowndes the most dominating team so far. N. G bulldogs a great coach and talent on both sides of the ball. Newnan has the state best defense and one of the best junior class on offense. Grayson #24 and maybe the second best defense. Lowndes will beat nswr by atleast 21 points. Upset special whitewater over sandy creek 17-14

Grayson has a very favorable match up with Shiloh and you all are talking about Brookwood game already. Great to see the game becoming rivalry. Brookwood have a shot to win —yes they do at home by a long shot. Grayson against Lowndes right now if game is in Lowndes….Grayson would not win. Grayson at North Gwinnett….North Gwinnett would take them. Matter of fact North Gwinnett is now number 2 instead of Grayson in the Massey Rankings. I trust these rankings more than anything else. Greater Atlanta Christian used to be a strong program in an extremely tuff AA region.
Now they give up more points per game than any other team in the state. Maybe if the
head coach would concentrate on the football team instead of promoting the “cultural
diversity” program there, they would be competitive again.
Kind of embarrasing when the only win may be over Cross Keys.

Jag Fan you will find former Douglass players scattered throughout Metro Area schools even on your roster. Even former coaches are at schools all over the Metro area. This present coaching staff is a joke and don’t have a clue about what they are doing. The admin at Douglass should be fired for hiring this staff. Douglass will never be the same football program it was.

Having said that Washington is in the same boat if Coach Pritchett doesn’t get some real high school coaches on his staff we are headed the same direction. Washington got to much talent to lose to Grady and Carver back to back. We gave away both of those games. The off. coord. is a joke ………………………………….. Sometimes i wish Coach Cofield was still here because this is BS…………. Doug and Wash suppposed to lead the city not Mays, Carver, Grady etc. Sad days for BTW I hope Coach Pritchett can regroup we got the talent.

Washington fan APS schools always have the talent to compete but lack in the coaching dept. The admin at Lakewood never go out of their way to hire quality coaches. This is the reason why an APS school will not win a championship unless there is a change at the top. In the future look for the top athletes to continue to move out of the city.

Its amazing the coverage of the 5A schools vs. the coverage of the 4A. I understand that 5A is bigger and better! But the Hawks (4A) Killed North Cobb (5A) in a Scrimmage to start the season. 19-0 in the first quarter, before the storm hit- Just imagine the score if they had of finished the Game. Hillgrove is one of the best teams out there and they can play with anyone! The talent and Coaching abilities are still there no matter how many kids you have at your schools.

slalom1 – Grayson benefitted from home field and Lowndes taking the long bus ride, but they didn’t exactly win on luck or turnovers. Reid broke a long run but other than that Grayson completely shut down the Viking O. It was no fluke. 1-AAAAA, and ENR in particular, has way too high of an opinion of its teams based on ancient history and just playing each other all the time. Fact is the rest of the state has caught up as proven by last year’s playoffs; Newnan 42 – Tift 0, Grayson 17 – Lowndes 7, P’Ridge 38 – Coffee 0. Those aren’t just losses they are humiliations of 1-AAAAA teams that couldn’t get past the 2nd or 3rd rounds of the playoffs. Put it another way East, with only 1900 students and their 1st year in AAAAA lost at Grayson by the same score as the mighty Lowndes. Get over yourselves, you’re OVER-RATED!!!!!

I commented on it on one of the other blogs. But sorry to differ with you this week, but I believe that EP will beat Etowah this year. I’m giving the home field advantage to East Paulding…. It’s going to be a good game between the two.

Lowdes County came into the Mac with a lot of confidence to play a back then typical Northside team in 1997. Northside finished that season 9-4. One of the nine wins came against then #1 Lowdnes County.
Now that the typical means that Northside has lost 2 regular season games in Warner Robins, both to Warner Robins in this decade, means bad news for anybody stepping foot in Warner Robins other than Warner Robins High School. Lowndes has learned that lesson 4 times, three of which were not by a close margin. NHS expecting to go to Lowdes and win was just confidence in a group. Going to South GA and coming away with a win is a whole lot thougher than going to anywhere in Metro Atlanta other than Gwinnett. Atleast when you step into the Mac, we will have enough seating on our visiting side to make you feel welcome. Which is more than I can say for Vikingville. With all the detail you have in that stadium, you could add a few more seats for the visitors, or maybe make the home side bigger so that when a team like NHS comes into town, there’s enough seating. Maybe build a section on the other end for that band of yours, that works nothing but marching band music all year or maybe a section for the visiting band so the fans can have some seating room.
Actually announcement to the whole state, whats up with stadiums with large home sides and tiny away sides, the away side could atleast be medium, just in case you are playing a team that typically brings a large crowd. I know money is short, but don’t make your stadium look so cracker jack. Atleast add on to the away side over a period of time. Learn a lesson from Parkview, or Northside/Warner Robins/Houston County. No more cracker jack stadiums(Wasn’t calling Lowndes a crack jack stadium, just think its rude how they don’t reserve the away side for the visiting team, which is the practice at every other high school in the state of GA. Westside Macon, East Coweta, Fayette County Tigers has what I call a cracker jack stadium – all schools with nice home sides and worthless away sides). If you cant afford it now, have a long term goal and market to recruit long term relationships with boosters, so you stadium can be hospitable.

Perhaps you should reconsider? I do hear EP brings a big crowd though. You are right that it should ne a very competitve game.

I find it laughable how lowndes fans are still looking back to last year and saying they would of won 2 of 3… Are you kidding me??? How could u say something so incoherent and ignorant. Its played on the field and lowndes was embarassed they blamed the refs and in the end had to try and fight because they were whooped in ever aspect of that game. This isnt baseball we dont play series’ so how could u even make that arguement

Pops – You’re right, we haven’t been able to replace the good skill players from last year, the RB that went to Arkansas or the safety and wide receiver that went to Kent State, and I think we’re down a litle at QB (run better but throw worse). However, our line play is better on both sides of the ball, we don’t get dominated up front and we’re getting stops before getting to the safety. And you may find part of your whipping tonight comes from special teams. I saw McE blow your game open with special teams play and we dominated them on special teams (beat badly in the other two phases though). Bottom line if you don’t cover punt returns better than you did at McE you’ll get blown out because you’re going to be punting a lot!!! Eagle craps on cannon in 1st quarter. Cannon shoots eagle out of the sky in 2nd quarter, East dominates 2nd half, game over, RAIDERS WIN, RAIDERS WIN!!!

To THE IC…………Martin Stadium holds just as many fans as THE MAC. The home side is filled with season ticket holders and student section. The rest of the VIKING NATION has to sit on the visitor side. Our fan base is very large and very proud of the vikings. At home or on the road, we are there to support our team.

HeadEast – You are right on about the punt coverage. Woodstock’s go ahead touchdown was a 4th quarter punt return. Special team coverage has been a thorn in our side for three years. Pleaaase don’t get me started. I hate, it I hate it, I hate it!!!! You have struck a nerve HeadEast!

IC calls the Concrete palace rude. You have the worst fans sitting
on the visitors side of any team any where. Some of them are half drunk
and obnoxious. Your fans sit in front of Warner Robins school and run
there mouths in the area where visiting teams park.
Surely you kid IC. Also, we have so many season tickets sold that
we have to use the visitors side to accomodat some of them.
Most teams don’t fill up the visitors side (save Valdosta and possibly Northside) so why would we not sell those tickets just to accomodate 2 teams every other year. Do the math IC.

HeadEast – despite you guys beeing a little tougher in the trenches, you are still matched up against one of the better group of lineman in the region. Plenty of size and strength, particularly on the left side #62 and 79# both D-1’s. I believe this is where the game is won and lost tonight.

SportsFan 31313: Can’t disagree with any pick this week, especially the Gwinnett games. However, Parkview has lost their #1 QB with a cracked jaw for the next 4 weeks. He will probably be back for the Brookwood game or a 1st round game (provided they make the playoffs, which got tougher with South, Dacula, Shiloh & Brookwood still to play). However, they should still get by a wretched Central Gwinnett team tonight.
TJ: I figured Grayson would take care of business tonight with Shiloh, that’s why I was mentioning the Brookwood game. There are not really any compelling games in Gwinnett tonight, except maybe South at Dacula, but South should win, seeing that Dacula beat them last year to keep South out of the playoffs.

The Decade long home winning streak is about to come to an end in the 9th inning of the Decade for the Eagle fans. To bad you could not keep your Decade long shut out. Northside will not score any offensive TDs tonight. Count on it. A much more high powered Colquit Offense could only get 1 TD and since you are a good enough football team to keep our
first string in for the whole game then you will not get any.

Grayson Student…
Forget arguing the point with the Lowndes crowd…they are completely FULL OF THEMSELVES and living WAAAAAAY in the past…The East/Grayson game was a much more competitive game than the Lowndes/ Grayson game…Grayson (with the exception of one long Reid run) shut Lowndes down and threw them off their game…they came in trying from the start to intimidate Grayson instead of playing football and ya’ll answered all night long…
