amen to that statement its good to see walton having some offense and your right about the qb. waltons always had soft qbs that had one purpose hand the ball off. i think the new coach is on track

Enter your comments here everybody needs to pay att. to the walton raiders now that they finally have a qb that can use more than his arm but can also run there gona be tuff to beat. they always had a solid defense but never an offense to go with it. there finally geting away from that throw when you have to way of thinking and spreading the field some.thats what its gona take for them when they step outside the region in the playoffs. lets hope they keep it up.

ENR,

This no doubt be a good game between the two. It will probably a great battle and a hard fought game. Valdosta might just pull this one out though. That is if their place kicker is healthy. They lost to NSWR due to missed field goals. Nevertheless a win is a win. NSWR has the win.

SportsFan and AVikingFan: Let me go on record. Someone should place Valdosta HS on "Alert" tonight at McConnell-Talbert Stadium against Warner Robins. I expect Warner Robins to run wild against the Wildcats in a big atmosphere in Warner Robins.

With the exception of a rather surprising state championship run in 2004, Northside has owned the town, which is challenging for longtime Warner Robins fans to get their arms around. The Demons have performed well this year and there is nothing that can bring the Warner Robins' fans out of hiding like a game against Valdosta. They are two of the most decorated programs in the history of Georgia HS football.

Warner Robins beats Valdosta easily.

By the way, Northside-Warner Robins appears to be rolling. Our young Eagles are not going to lose at McConnell-Talbert Stadium. You heard it from me. We bullied Houston County last night. Northside 42, HoCo 7. Who's next?

YO - This just in. Todd's newsletter today said Lowndes has won 100 games this decade. It got me to thinking, and one thing led to another, and i now can put this out. When Lowndes beat Peachtree Ridge this year, it was our 300th lifetime victory. We now have 302 and counting.

How 'bout that Lt. Col.?

v town - I didn't quite understand what you meant in your 10:49 am post today. "VALDOSTA WILL BEAT LOWNDES THIS YEAR OR WE NEED BACK."

Exactly what will you need "back"? Hyder, Bazemore, O'Brien, surely you don't mean that joke Darlington? Well Hyder and the Baze are dead and O'Brien wouldn't come back the way ya'll treated him! You've got a coach now who is in the top 5 coaches in the whole state. What you NEED is some players who will play together as a team. You NEED to kick the gangs out of Valdosta High School, and defintely off your football team. That's what you NEED to do. And you NEED to appreciate the fine coach you have! But friend, I don't think you will beat Lowndes this year, regardless of what it is that you NEED!

Wolverine2Blazer - Lowndes has pretty much sold all the home side tickets as season reserved seat tickets. I may have a couple and I will ask around to some other folks I know who buy several (I have 8 season reserved seat tickets) The alternative would be to sit on teh east side of the field in this cast the"Valdosta" side. I can get you some over there if you go ahead and commit soon. I don't want to get stuck with'em if you know what I mean. Write to me early next week in Todd's Monday blog and we'll decide how to get together.

Hope ya'll do your thing tonight. We will try to do ours against Tifton, and I hope the Cats across town take care of WR.

Thanks for the support Homefield! I just got back to Woodstock a few hours ago and we're all ready for the game. Pretty pumped to go to this game and then the Winnersville game back to back. Any advice on when to get tickets that wont get me behind the middle schoolers like i did your first home game?

AVIKINGFAN,

I know where you are coming from. :-) :-) :-) :-)

This year I think Stephenson will beat MLK...

Although Colquitt County is doing great this year, I still believe that Valdosta will beat them as well.

I could be wrong, but i just don't think that Woodstock will take Etowah to the shed tonight.

As far as ENR and Rezze, I was wondering the same thing.

SportsFan31313 - you've given it a lot of thought. I still work for a living, or at least, my boss wishes I would! I think stephenson/mlk can go either way Oct 16, and EP could be #2 in Reg.5. Also, you might could flip Valdosta and Colquitt, but both should make the playoffs. We'll know more about that after tonight (Valdosta vs WR). Finally, Woodstock may eek out Etowah in R5, and Milton is still in the thick of things in R6. But like I said, I haven't had time to study things like you have. 1 AAAAA is about all I can keep up with, and of course, the Cannon and HeadEast keeps us pretty much informed about up there (you just can't always to their predictions to the bank).

Wonder where Reese and EagleNationRizing are?

AVIKING FAN,

I don't believe that Parkview will beat Grayson even with the home field advantage. I believe that Grayson will silence the crowd quickly, and again come victorious over Parkview. This will a close game though.

Greetings HomeFieldAdvantage / AVIKINGFAN,

Great to hear from you. I know all so well about these feeder programs down there. Unfortunately Bradwell Institute does not have one in place. Too much red taper and the Board of Ed have gotten involved. We all know A feeder system improves your team. But you can't tell the powers that be in Hinesville, so there you have it. Until Bradwell Institute can get a successful feeder system, they will continue to be a runner up ( 2nd Place ) team.

Bradwell Institute plays Groves of Savannah tonight. As you know, everyone has started playing Region games now, and you can tell how these are going to go, and where they will be place by the end of the season. Region 1-AAAAA will be Lowndes County, Northside Warner Robbins, Colquitt County, and Valdosta. Region 2-AAAAA Stephenson, MLK, Union Grove, and Redan. Region 3-AAAAA will be Camden County, Bradwell Institute, (or vice versa) Johnson of Savannah, and Beach. Region 4-AAAAA will be Newnan, Creekside, Westlake, and East Coweta. Region 5-AAAAA will be McEachern, Harrison, Etowah, and East Paulding. Region 6-AAAAA will be Lassister, Roswell, Walton, Centinnial. Region 7-AAAAA will be Peachtree Ridge, North Gwinette, Collins Hill, and maybe Chattahoochee. Region 8-AAAAA will be Grayson, Parkview, South Gwinette and maybe Brookwood.

I predict that is how it will turn out. What do you think ?

Jay212033 - The Valdosta teams you mentioned were indeed very good. But I think their best was in 1971. At one point in a game I leaned down to get my coffee thermos and missed a Bounds to Rome TD pass. later the dadgum coffee fogged up my glasses and I missed another one. That was in the State Championship game, a Valdosta rout over one of those over-rated Atlanta area teams. But I agree with some others who say this year's Lowndes team may be the best local team of all time. We'll get a better idea of that in the next three weeks, especially on Oct 9th.

I hope Tucker wins this game because its unreal how bias the refs are when you play at Marist. Their plan is to hide behind their home-field because they know they are gonna get the majority of the calls there. Marist is solid, no doubt about that, but that home field advantage makes them appear better than they really are. Look what happened last year with these two teams. How does Marist win 38-0 at HOME and then have to leave Hughes Spaulding Stadium and loose 15-3 in the dome in the title game? Real simple. The refs gave Marist about 21 points off of bogus, bias calls the first time. Never thought I would say this, but GO TUCKER! Just play assignment football and hit 32 and 21 EVERY SNAP!!!

I know your a Viking fan and all but to say this Viking team is better than any Valdosta team is outrageous! Now to say better than any team since 97 then I might not have a problem, although that 98 team was pretty good. You must've been born in the 90's cause those late 80's early 90's Valdosta teams were very, very good!

My opinion along with $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks; but here goes anyhow.

The 2 games that interest me are Valdost at Warner Robbins, and Grayson at Parkview. I have no idea whether Valdosta or WR is the stronger team, but it could be a very good game, and may reveal a lot about both teams.

I do not think Grayson at Parkview will be all that close. I think Grayson wins by over 10 points. Not that Parkview is a bad team, but Grayson is just that good. I am not expecting Parkview to test the weakness, if any, in Grayson's defensive backfield so I just don't see Parkview scoring enough points in this game against a stiff Grayson defense in order to make it much of a contest. Parkview's strong tradition and history just will not matter against the better team any more than the Oakland Raiders' tradition can win them football games this season.

ghsclassof2012 - the reason they keep up with winning streaks is they all end. Parkview might be the one to do it. Lovett did it to Buford "University", at least that's what their fans were caling it until they went into hibernation.

SportsFan31313, howdy Lt. Col., your picks look pretty good to me. I still think Parkview has a chance, albeit a small one. As you know, "Home Field Advantage" sometimes means the difference in these kind of games.

Brunswick and Burke should be a good one. And we know WR and Valdosta will be a barn burner. Rick Tomberlin told me yesterday that Valdosta is healthy and ready for WR. He hopes his kicker will be 100% this week. (He missed 4 field goals and an extra point against NSWR, and Valdosta beat the lard out of'em in statistics. But points win games) I just hope my Vikings can do their thing again. I've watched Lowndes for many years and I've never seen a team quite like this one, and that includes all those great Wildcat teams across town. It has the chance and the talent to be special. They've just got to stay focused.

BTW our B team beat valdosta last week 35-6, the 2nd time this year we've beat them. Our 9th grade won 35-0 against Valdosta, and it has beaten them twice this year also. Both are undefeated. With our starting Varsity QB being a Jr, and one of the starting Wingbacks being a Jr., we hopefully can just reload next year. We have a really good Bteam fullback who sees a little time each week with the varsity. We now have three middle school feeder programs.

Who is your Hinesville team playing this week? Take care of business!

Gooooo Mike O'Brien and Woodstock. Etowah will be tough!

It has the chance and the talent to be special. They’ve just got to stay focused.

BTW our B team beat valdosta last week 35-6, the 2nd time this year we’ve beat them.

Gooooo Mike O’Brien and Woodstock. Etowah will be tough!

Greetings SouthGARules,

I believe that Region 1-AAAA Bainbridge will pull this one out.... In addition, I believe this time, Valdosta will give Warner Robbins all that that they can handle this year... Take Valdosta. Finally, Grayson and Parkview, I probably will be a close game, but I'm still going with Grayson.... They will run the table....

Since Parkview has the home game advantage, they should be able to win. There won't be any ref cheating going on this week. That's right I said it! Go Panthers I am rooting for you.

BullDawg Rick: If they didn't list Meadowcreek @ Duluth a few weeks ago, how can you expect them to mention Meadowcreek @ Shiloh? Of course, the big one will be when Meadowcreek & Berkmar square off.
Sports Fan31313: Mostly agree, but take Westside over Bainbridge & if Valdosta can not stop the run, take the Demons. Newnan will probably face their last hurdle for Region 4-AAAAA in Creekside (with the exception of East Coweta on 11/6). Grayson, with a win, will probably run the table. Would not be surprised if Parkview kept it closer than people think.
