Hats off to south… great game. Yall have to remember that grayson did not match up well with south at all. They are used to playing the run id say they did pretty good job containg the spread. South will be a team to reckon with next year count on it

Good win tonight for my Vikings!!! Looks like Valdosta gave one away tonight. Too many missed opportunities. Can’t leave that many points on the field. Great chatting with you guys. Good luck to all you guys next week. Go Vikings!!!

The block in the back was clear and obvious. Unnecessary cause the South QB had cleared the pursuing Defender. That QB was good. What’s his story.

Congratulations to the MAC! The best team won. I wasn’t counting but that explosive offense must have broken 7-8 plays for more than 20 yards and you won the turnover battle 3-1. Still we were going in to take the lead with under 5 minutes to go and fumbled the ball on the Indian 3. Probably more accurate to say a great hit by your D created a fumble. Looks lke several more good games as Woodstock, East, and Etowah now battle for 2nd place.

Hagar, it is a matter of fact that Northside (Warner Robins) has not lost a football game to a visiting team during the regular season since Northside lost to Robert E. Lee of Alabama on September 20, 1996. Warner Robins HS is not a visiting team at McConnell-Talbert Stadium!!! For goodness sake, the stadium sits across the street from the main entrance of the Warner Robins HS campus.

If you find a regular season game that Northside has lost to a visiting team at McConnell-Talbert Stadium since Robert E. Lee of Alabama beat us 16-7 on September 20, 1996, you tell us Hagar. Your jealous demeanor smells very Warner Robins HS. If I were you, I would stop dancing about beating Tift County, who was also hammered by AA Brooks County. Hagar, if you are indeed a Big Red poster try to get focused upon a very good and athletic Valdosta team. I would hate to see your Homecoming dreams squashed as you are wasting time attempting to accept the obvious. Northside does not lose at home AND

Grayson y’all haven’t done anything yet. Even with beating Lowndes last year you guys still didn’t do nothing with it. The very next week you lost to Peachtree. Come on dude. Lowndes, Northside, Warner Robins, Camden, etc all have State Championships. Grayson really isn’t in the conversation until y’all show me something. Win it all then we can talk!

and nothing would bring a bigger smile upon my face than Northside and Warner Robins finishing 1-2 in Region 1-AAAAA. Unlike so many people in the Wartown who cheer against their cross-town rivals. I love the Big Red every week of the season except the Friday night that they play Northside.

I was there for Warner Robins’ State Championship in 1988 and I have to admit that a part of me was sad when Northside upset Warner Robins when it seemed as though Warner Robins was going to win a third National Championship in 1989. Of course, 98% of me was celebrating our improbable 7-6 win.

Northside has NOT lost to any visitor during the regular season since 1996. That is not a misprint. There is too much Warner Robins history at that stadium for anyone to proclaim that Warner Robins is a visiting team to McConnell-Talbert Stadium. Hagar, haven’t you seen the famous sign, “There is NO Northside, GA”

South Gwinnett QB is really good. Brookwood was crazy to let him go back to South, but maybe not because he will go D-1 from South Gwinnett(he is only a Jr). Brookwood would have ruined it for him.

MHSFan – Sore winner dissing the refs? You must have really good vision to see penalties from the stands more clearly than the refs that are a few feet away! Just curious, did you think any of the three consecutive holding calls against you were correct? Not that they mattered since you got a long TD a few plays later. Congrats on the win, you’ve got a very impressive team.

OK!…First Congrats to McEachern for a HARD fought win tonight…

Hoya Chuck, get a grip Harrison had it’s hands full with SOUTH COBB!!!

Jaybo and others who were not at the game…this was the game we all expected it to be and the score does not tell the story as it was McEachern 24 / EAST 21 with just over 4 minutes to go. East was on the McEachern 3 YARD LINE and about to go up 28 to 24 when we fumbled. On a 3rd down play McEachern scores on a long pass play to go up 31 / 21!! Time ran out with EAST inside the McEachern 3 yard line!!!!

This game could have been won by either team and two quality football teams played their hearts out tonight. McEachern scored 21 of their points off EAST turnovers so sorry JAYBO but nobody got anything “spanked” and EAST still has games with Woodstock and Etowah that will go a long way towards determining the 5A-AAAAA.

Hoya Chuck…let’s see if you still have anything to say after Harrison visits “THE BONEYARD” in a few weeks. JAYBO thats when the SPANKING is going to occur.

south looks legit, they played a great game and really exploited our pass defense. i will say the officiating crew was terrible, but the block in the back on souths TD was completely obvious. champaign was at least 3 or 4 yards behind the QB and gets blindsided. it was a good call.

McEachern is a basketball school! Do not allow these East Paulding posters to get away with any proclamation otherwinse. McEachern is in no way a football school.

McEachern 31, East Paulding 21.

Are you guys kidding me? People are posting about EP being underrated. Get real! There is clearly a shortage of real athletes at EP if a basketball school is putting up 31 points against you. EP gave up in one game what many programs across the state have not giving up all season. Wow!

EagleNationRising

Jaybo: Cannon Rules is the prototypical metro Atlanta high school fan. The truth is it is unjustifiable for any big time program to lose to McEachern, one of the premiere basketball schools in the state. Of course, we are going to get long stories and “excuse threads” about what happened.

The bottom line is East Paulding is NOT a premiere program…EP has NEVER been a premiere program. The people of Hiram only believe EP is really good because the AJC gives them so much ink. I do not know if it is because Bill Richardson is the House Speaker of the General Assembly or what. However, EP along with Grayson and Stephenson get more ink than any programs in the nation that have NEVER won state championship. Now this. A loss to “basketball school” McEachern.

EP posters please do not sink to making excuses. 31-21 is not close. The score doesn’t represent the game is a pathetic excuse. The score does represent what happened in the game. McEachern scored 31 and the mighty EP program scored 21. That is exactly what happened. Eat your crow before you make another excuse about fumbling at the 3.

Down 24-21 with 4 minutes left is plenty of time to make a defensive stand, get the ball back, and at least come down and tie it up and force overtime. No excuses, EP!!! If EP was half the program East posters proclaim it to be, the silver and black would have made a stand and come back to win it. That did not happen. So eat crow and enjoy it.

EagleNationRising, I want you to take a look at this http://www.mceachernhigh.org/Football/facilities.html and then ask yourself if a “basketball school” would bother to have a stadium like that. McEachern is not a football, basketball, wrestling, or baseball school, it is a school with athletic tradition in all sports. Sorry big guy.

Uh OH!!! looks like my son didn’t play tonight. Mays lost to who again! LOL See, this is what’s wrong with Mays and probably a few other APS schools. A person offers constructive criticism and right away someone who doesn’t want an improved program says “oh you just mad cause your son don’t play”. Actually, I have a daughter at Mays, but I’m a football fan, so I enjoy watching young men develop and sometimes watch practice while I am walking the track.
So, since you falsely accused me of being mad that my son wasn’t playing, I’ll just let the cat out of the bag about the rest of the shortcomings I’ve observed this summer and fall watching Mays practice.
Guess what AJC, Mays has players cursing the coaches out, throwing their helmets down if the coach says something to them they don’t like, and even getting in the coaches face and challenging them.
All of this behavior goes unchecked by the coach and is observed by the younger players. So guess what the younger players are going to do when they become seniors if this same coaching staff is kept in place. Yep you guessed it!
GO RAIDERS! LOL.

I wouldnt exactly say that MHS is a basketball school they have only been good for the past couple of years. The basketball team always sucked when I was there (98-02) MHS has usualy always been football/wrestling school (7 straight region football titles, 7 state wrestling titles in a row) but now I would have to say the basketball team is on the rise in a BIG way

Just a question.

Was week 4 the end of the “smack talk” from: Valdosta, South Gwinnett, and Mays?

While it is fun to speculate about who is going to finish first, that seems to ignore all the fun watching Friday niight games during the journey. There are a lot of good football teams out there. It is hard to win a single football game, let alone run the table. If your team wins ANY football games, they deserve your attention and support. Winning a state title can come down to one or two players, or even something as simple as one bad special teams play. The flukes and coin tosses should not detract from anyone’s enjoyment of good games fought by hard working opponents.

Way to go Georgia High School Football! It is always fun to watch. The surprises just add to the enjoyment.

And now I can stop holding my breath, since North Gwinnett scored enough points against a typically outstanding Norcross defensive secondary. Excellent coaching. Excellent players. They have the best idea about how to stop the “Air Raid’ offense among all HS teams in Georgia. It isn’t “man for man” and it isn’t “Cover 2″. And fortunately, it will not be on the other side of the line of scrimmage again this season.

Good job holding it together, Lovett.

Always an Indian…

Take the time to actually READ what I posted…The FIRST post I made I congratulated the Indians on their win! I next said it was a hard fought game that either team could have won and THAT IS ABSOULTELY what it was. Regardless of what you want to say this game was NOT DECIDED until EAST fumbled with just over 4 minutes to go. Had EAST scored then the score would have been 28/24 and McEachern would have been chasing the clock to come back.

As it stand McEachern is now 4-0 in the Region but to hear Hoya Chuck tell it we all may as well fold our tents since we still havn’t played them yet. McEachern SHOULD now run the table and win the Region with EAST, WOODSTOCK, & ETOWAH battling for the 2nd spot BUT we still got a lot of football left!

and OH!…EagleNationRising…you can call McEachern a “basketball” school if you want but they got a quality football team this year that not many teams will stay close with.

You havn’t heard the last of our Raiders STAY TUNED!!!

I read the posts on the Grayson/ SG game and if Grayson does not fumble the kickoff in the 2nd Qtr which lead to a TD, they game really would not have been that close, but a win is a win. In addition a couple of 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalities allowed SG to convert a couple of 3rd down plays.

Tucker defense VERY good tonight, but SLOPPY, SLOPPY, SLOPPY and UNDISCIPLINED PLAY will cost the Tigers down the road if they don’t tighten it up several notches. Two dead-ball unsportsmanlike penal;ties gave Miller Grove 1st and goal inside the three. Penalties killed drives all night long. The Tiger “D”, though was killer – three TDs in the first half!! Sorry Blake, this year North played the #1 team in Alabama; and yes Prattville has scraped their way back to a #1 ranking. Last year, we played the #1 team in South Carolina, Byrnes.

Stephenson looks to be for real, but if they play North it will have to be in the playoffs. The non- conference games are over.

SouthGARules: Stephenson is probably just as awesome now as they were 7 years ago, but this is NOT the same North team that lost to Stephenson 7 years ago. I hardly think you can refer to games that far back as a relative measure of current strength. All these teams wil get their chance on the field. It should be fun to watch.

Go beat Lowndes – in their stadium. Then I will believe. Until then, be patient, and watch it unfold in the playoffs.

Harrison has been a perinnial play-off team for years! It is fun to out to the games and root for our teams and then come home and blog about it. I still hold out hope that Harrison can “upset” one or two teams that will put us back in the play-offs this year as well. Anything is possible. Good luck for the rest of the season! Good game from Colquit tonight. Very humid night in S. Ga. and they
made our first string go all the way. Colquit was a good test for the Vikings and definitely played us better this year than any other team thus far. Colquit has good speed and did an excellent job protecting the qback all night. #22 RB for Colquit can flat out fly. I predict Colquit will be in the playoffs this year. No prediction as to where but I did see a team that plays solid Defense and very capable on offense.

Man-o ‘ LIVE…those mighty Griffin Bears broke out the BEAST CLAW Whooping Club Friday against a gritty tough Mt. Zion Team. I was WAAAAY off in my prediction of the Bears losing. (I’ll keep my day job I ’spoze!) An absolute BONE-CRUSHING stop on a critical fourth down for Mt. Zion just deflated the whole team, and probably South Clayton County in general. Trust me, that one hit was YOU-TUBE good. Great game on TV (saw the replay) and the Bears Den was ROCKIN and the fans were into it. I’d venture as far as to say Mt. Zion will still make the playoffs, they are that good of a team, but this week they were no match for the Bears as they were really out for revenge and got it! look MHS has started off well, i mean beating the top three teams in region 5. with that said they still have six games left yes they should win them all but we dont wont a slip up. but for all you ep fans a W is a W no matter how you get it. may have been a good game but lets think about this. MHS rolled up almost 600 yards and yall only got 300 at the most. purnell had 4 completions for about 215 with two touchdowns and MR. BENNETT had 182 yards more than half of ep total yards. fumbles happen, its just how you respond to them is what makes the difference. good game but i think ep fans still need to remember who there daddy is before they start talking about last year win. i think paulding county the whole county might have six wins against MHS. That dates back to 1966 so do the math.

Pretty good game tonight between EP and MAC. A bit sloppy on both sides of the ball in terms of penalties(rightly or wrongly called). Also sloppy play with turn overs and special teams. For a 4th and 3rd game respectively I think both teams played extremely tight and not up to their potential.

All in all, the better team won tonight and a tip of my cap to the McEachern Indians fot the win.

Unfortunatley what I saw makes me concerned about the region when playoffs come around because if those were the best and 2nd, 3rd or 4th best teams in the region then I think the playoffs could end as quickly as they start for all in the region. EP’s pass defense was NON Existent for the entire game, and MAC’s defense was pretty much a sieve. The biggest difference I saw was that MAC out coached/thought EP’s coaches in terms of approach to the game. MAC came out throwing, and though not overly accurate initially, it accomplished the intention and that was to make sure that as the game wore on that the running gacme could be counted on for big first downs when it counted. The RB is infact extremely good and as fast as advertised.

No excuses here at all. As mentioned before the best team won, and congrats. I really really hope that MAC can shore up their defense, and if they can they would be pretty awesome. My fear is that a team like Grayson would just keep the ball for 75 pct of that game by gaining 3 yards every snap, and the MAC offense would never get untracked.

Side note: Speed: yes MAC is faster then EP, Size wise,,,it was pretty darn even with a slight nod to EP.

Last thing: EP Fans(only you 1pct)……..if you are one of the fans yelling and screaming at the EP QB to “do somthing”, or “throw the ball”, or “get rid of if you ball hog”,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you all need to get a gripe and stop manifesting your racial bias with your ignorant remarks. Grow up !!!

Oops sorry,,,,,,,I just can’t stand it when fans from any side can’t win or lose with class.
