I’m here I do apologize for my lack of perception on my Panthers. We have never come out so flat in a region game in the last 9yrs that I have been supporting the Forest Park Panthers . I am embarrassed from the performance of tonight . I will say we are very young . Only 8 Seniors on this years team. We’ve got several soph. playing and it shows. Pray for us man that we get some heart. Because we made Mt. Zion look like westside macon or lowndes or somebody and they are not. same team we lost last year to like 15-14.

Mays vs Whitewater…was the best SORRY game I ever saw! Both teams are talented…but not very-well coached. MAYS–you are not disciplined at all…and your fundamentals are terrible! But thats not your fault…you only do what you do in practice. If you practice sorry…then you play sorry! You need A real coach who can coach!..WHITEWATER—you have great size on your team but its not being utilized what-so ever! Your skills-position are weak…the offense your trying to run does not fit this team! Had you been coached BETTER …this team would be A serious contender instead of A pretender!

MAYS vs WHITEWATER…you both have great bands. Halftime was just excellent! WHITEWATER—you put on A great show…I could hear every instrument that was played. It was beautiful…your band was very creative. MAYS—I was so proud to see A black band play very well together without doing all of that nasty dancing! THANK_YOU…IM PROUD!

South Gwinnett and Grayson are now 3-0 heading into a showdown this week. Someone needs to start talking about them. South Gwinnett has scored at least 40 points in all 3 of their wins. Grayson can’t even say that.

Boy attended the Camden Hoover game last night! Hated to see the Cats lose our defense look very suspect and hoover completely shut the offense down in the second half! But nobody on here can deny that there is nothing like the atmosphere of a friday night high school football game in Georgia! I absolutely love it!

What a great game, Wolverinefan not real sure about the whole safety thing, it appeared he was good to go from where i was sitting. But both teams made some crucial mistakes throughout the whole game, MHS just made less when it counted. Sure we are Happy about the win, but when it comes to a football game, that one was great. MHS was behind by 2 td’s plus some; most of the game and came from behind to tie it and win in OT. Looking forward to next week, but sure are glad we are at home.

I attended the Wilkinson Co. vs. Wilcox Co. game last night since it wasn’t to far from where I live. The GHSA needs to look into the officiating, at one time 10 flags in a row against Wilcox. This officiating crew no doubt wasn’t going to let Wilcox win. You couldn’t even enjoy the game due to the number of flags. I could go on for hours, but a team with this caliber of talent just doesn’t commit this many penalties.

McEachern wins what sounds like a close / tight fought game…I hope what some posted isn’t true and the refs didn’t cost Woodstock the game…from what I have heard to go into “THE WOOD” and come away with a win in HUGE!!! Congrats to the Indians!!
South Cobb barely loses to Campbell, then beats Kennesaw Mtn. in week two, wasn’t sure what to expect at “THE BONEYARD” last night but it was RAIDERS from the start and the backups got a LOT of play in a 36 / 0 RAIDERS victory!!! The Cannon got lots of “PLAY TIME” as it announced another Raider win all night long!!!
So now this coming week should be an exciting game as our RAIDERS travel to McEachern. I don’t see this one being a blow-out for either team, but the stands WILL BE FULL of RAIDER fans as this week 4 game will go a long way in determining the winner of 5A – AAAAA this year!!!
GO RAIDERS!!!!!!

Will Jones II: Thanks for stepping up. I really appreciate that. Your post really stuck out talking some smack about Forest Park. I remember they were relevant at one time when Hines Ward played there back in the 90s. First of all, you folks need some prayers with the gauntlet you are running through right now. Westside-Macon, Mt Zion-Jonesboro, next week Griffin & then North Clayton & later on Dutchtown. i hope your guys keep fighting & don’t give up. i see that Rod Perrymond is coaching @ FP now. If I remember correctly, he was a star TB on the 1993 Dunwoody team that won state under David Kelly. Hopefully, he can build a good foundation for FP.

SOUTHGWINNETTFAN: South has been impressive, but the teams they have beaten are a combined 1-8.
We will find out South then. They have scored 49 pts in each of their 3 games, but I don’t think they will put 49 on Grayson. However, I see them in the playoff hunt in Region 8-AAAAA.

Hey, TROJAN DUDE. You are a complete liar when you say Coffee did nto start their “first squads” against Fitzgerald. I was at the cam and the only thing that rotated was the 2 qb’s. The starting lines really never came off the field. You people in Coffee have a tough time accepting you were physically manhandled two years in a row by a bunch of smaller, more disciplined players froma AA school. Yes it was a scrimmage but Fitzgerald was able to work and successfulybcapitilize on every facet of the game. That what that game is for. From what I saw, Coffee is not very good no matter what “squad” they put out there. How about just giing credit to a pretty good Fitzgerald team.

If you read any of three or four posts I wrote about the Purple Hurricanes you would know that I gave about the highest praise I could give the young men. You kicked our asses last year and this year. Go back and read where I stated that it was my belief that the Hurricanes could hold their own against any AAAAA team other than maybe the top five or so.
You were to quick to jump to the defensive when I was discussing the confusion all Coffee fans sometimes feel about how Coach Eldridge ignores the score in pre-season games and uses them to evaluate personell and capabilities. I NEVER said Coffee could have beaten Fitzgerald. I don’t think they could have back in August and I don’t think Coffee would beat The Hurricanes next week. Maybe…. But I myself don’t think so. Fitzgerald has on hell-of-a-team.
What you want me to do? Sprinkle you with Holy Water and pick you over Tebow and the boys next week?

So last night was rough. haha. It was a good game. Highly intense in the end. Congrads to the Indians. Well fought comeback. For my Wolverines though I know Coach O’B to well to think that the rest of the season is going to be a bust. Alot of weaknesses were exsposed and I know O’B is going to fix them, come in to the Playoffs as a 2 or 3 seed and make another great run back to the Elite 8, and then some. Can’t wait to get back home in 2 weeks for the Battle of TLP. The best rivaly north of the knat line. Parkview-Brookwood got nothing on us. Till then though i’ve gotta go support my Blazers. This week the RAIDERS travel to Powder Town to take on the “Mighty Indians” of McEachern…it’s a shame we can’t take the CANNON on the road for this game as that Indian they got at one end of their stadium would make for great “TARGET PRACTICE”…Oh well, we’ll just have to settle for “LIGHTING” up their scoreboard!!!

South Gwinnett has played sub par teams and hope to roll into this week doing the same. They come to Grayson’s stadium and will be stunned at how hard they will be hit. They have not played that level yet. But there will be hope for South Gwinnett after the Grayson game. They will learn how to play in a big game. It will carry them past teams in their region and they will make the playoffs. Brookwood may not make it if they do not pick it up soon because South Gwinnett will beat them. I am sold the only reason Grayson has not put up many points prior to this week is the caliber of defenses they have faced with Warner Robins and Camden. They still won!

Hey Jaybo, Glad to see you back. Last year I was “Northside Fan” but had to change my handle bercause other one time bloggers used that one and thus, putting me in bad standing a couple of times.with regular bloggers. This is a tough year for Thomas County Central. I had the same belief for Northside-WR but Coach Nix (as you told me) dug deep to find some JV’s that could play. They are cxoming around slowly but still need to reduce fumbling at the worst times. It looks like we are going back to AAAA. We are presently below AAAAA student population and with a new High School (Veteran High) beginning in 2010, we will even have less students. i believe we will be in 1AAAA North and you guys in 1AAAA south, so we very well will play one another the future. I must say you were right and I was wrong. Houston County came to Hinesville and hammered Bradwell Institute 33-14. Houston County disclosed Bradwell Institute’s weakness on field. Bradwell’s offensive line is very very young and inexperienced. They couldn’t get anything going. Now my thoughts are Houston County has gotten very good over the past two years and very well be a contender in Region 1-AAAAA or they hammered Bradwell on Bradwell’s turf over a very young and inexperienced team that was playing against a tough Houston County Region 1-AAAAA. nevertheless,, Great job Houston County on your convincing win against Bradwell. We will probably meet again in the post season depending on the seed.

Liberty County High in Region 3-AAA is getting some notice. They are 3-0 and have beaten at least a great McIntosh Academy team. Their strength of schedule is better than Bradwell Institute. They still to play a good Burke County team, a good Washington County team, and good Baldwin County Team, and a Great Thompson High School Team. If Liberty County beat those teams, there is no doubt that they win their Region and will go very far in the post season. Good Job Liberty County Panthers on you 35-6 hammering of Effingham County last night.

I’m guessing EP now has a lot of fans in Woodstock as we look like the last real chance to stop the MAC train (no offense Hoyas). Haven’t seen Woodstock this year but I know we’re smaller and slower than Etowah or MAC so it’s gonna be a uphill battle. We do have great coaching and play with a lot of heart so who knows. We’re probably about a 2 touchdown underog on the road.

I was simply stating the fact that you were LYING when you said that Coffee did not pay it’s “first squad”. The people of Fitzgerald heard all last year how the scrimmage did not matter and Coffee would beat them in a regular season game. None of that matters. IMO, no time last year or this year could Coffee play ithin 3 td’s of Fitzgerald. Maybe you need to reread your own posts. Fact is insinuated in a previous post that Coffee’s startes never played. That is a pitiful excuse flat out lie. Admit it and everything is good. Don’t admit it and lie the same lie that most do in that corrupt county you call (or have called) home.

Northside Observer,
Good 2 c u man!!! I see Northside got by Carver last night…congrats on d win!! Yea I told u last year U werent gettin any sympathy from me…I knew Conrad would find some players…he always does…lol!!! As 4 TCC, I knew we would be down this year. We were average last year with a lot of seniors. We lost 2 Thomasville n our opener 13-9 and beat Cairo last week. Our defense is solid as a rock, but our offense is needs help, but they’re improving. We have a very young team man! But I tell u what, everybody better get us this year b/c next year we will be loaded with a kid coming in as a 9th grader who will probably battle 4 d starting QB position!!! So im just gonna cruise through this season and take my licks and hits from everybody(no problem though, b/c as sure as I can dish it out, I can take it 2) and look forward 2 TCC’s future!!! CHIP AND AJC CREW,I guess since AAA Burke County is in a lower class than their AAAA opponents, the Bears is expected to lose right. Wrong, the Bears have defeated AAAA Effingham, AAAA ranked Ware Co., and AAAA ranked Statesboro in Statesboro. AAAA ranked Brunswick is next on the list of defeats. CHIP and the AJC crew, I guess ya’ll will pick Burke County to lose again right. Who do Burke Co. have to defeat to get some kind of respect around here???? Like I been saying, “Burke Co. is loaded with weapons.” Note: several key Bears haven’t seen action since week one cause of injuries. CHIP said, “Burke Co. likely wouldn’t have enough to take Statesboro down. Well, CHIP and the AJC crew check this out Burke downs Devils September 12, 2009
By MIKE ANTHONY
manthony@statesboroherald.com
Burke County at Statesboro In a game filled with big plays and big hits, the Statesboro Blue Devils couldn’t quite come up with enough. Burke County came to Womack Field Friday night and handed Statesboro its first loss of the season – a 35-17 defeat.
Senior quarterback Terrell Brigham and the rest of the Bears offense perfectly executed a no-huddle attack that kept the Devils on their heels all night.
Brigham did it all on Friday, rushing for 111 yards and three touchdowns while passing for 81 more and even recording a few catches.
In all, the Burke offense would rack up 411 yards on the night and cruise past a Statesboro defense that had looked dominant in its first two games.
“We knew that (Brigham) was going to be a factor coming into the game,” said Statesboro coach Steve Pennington. “We tried to stress gang tackling and schemed for their abilities on offense, but they just had too much firepower tonight. We knew that we didn’t want to get in a track race with them and when they jumped out in front we couldn’t quite answer the call.”
Burke County wasted no time in taking the upper hand.
After a great Blue Devil kickoff gave the Bears possession on their own 11 yard line, the Burke offense got right down to business. Utilizing a balanced attack, the Bears used their speed to spread out the Statesboro defense and efficiently moved down the field.
A 10-yard touchdown run by Brigham capped the 11-play, 89-yard opening drive that took just under five minutes to complete.
Statesboro was able to narrow the gap, but could never quite pull even.
On their second drive of the night, a 53-yard run by senior Allen Wooden set the Devils up with first-and-goal on the Burke 3-yard line. A botched snap and a sack caused the drive to stall however, and Statesboro was forced to settle for a field goal.
Trailing 14-3 in the second quarter, senior running back Lamar Stimage slipped in for a two-yard scoring run to bring the Devils within four. Burke was able to add another touchdown before the half, and Statesboro would never get back into the game.
In its first two games of the season, Statesboro was carried by its powerful running game. Lamar Stimage and Aaron Lester were a big reason for that success, but both were hampered by injuries Friday.
“It kills me that I couldn’t be out there tonight,” said Lester. “I was watching all of my teammates fighting hard all night. I just wish I could have done my part to help them.”
Although the Devils were able to run the ball effectively, it was evident that they were sorely missing the big-play abilities of Stimage and Lester. In all, Statesboro was held to just 155 yards on the ground and could never get into a rhythm that would allow for sustained drives.
“Any time you have two quality runners like Aaron and Lamar out, it’s going to hurt,” said Pennington. “It put a lot of pressure on our offensive line. Right now, we’re a little banged up there too. We just weren’t consistent enough in any part of the offense tonight.”
The second half was dominated from the get-go by Burke. Building off of their score at the end of the second quarter, the Bears added touchdowns on their first drive of the third period to take a commanding 28-10 lead.
Twice in the second half, the Devils were able to start a drive in Burke territory, but could never make anything of their good fortune.
Burke stretched its lead to 35-10 in the fourth quarter when backup quarterback Corey Mayton raced in from five yards out.
Statesboro was able to put together one more scoring drive, but by the time Reid Pennington plunged into the end zone to make it 35-17, it was far too late for a comeback.
“This is going to be a good learning experience,” said Pennington. “Some of the concerns that we had coming into the year were exposed tonight. We just need to respond come next week.”
The Blue Devils will wrap up their non-region schedule Friday as they travel to Augusta to take on Thomson in their first road game of the 2009 season.

HeadEast…. You can apologize now!! Harrison will not go below .500, and your fantasy 9-0 match-up with Woodstock is just that! McEachern will win the region and spank EP along the way. Yes, the Hoyas lost many excellent players. However, tradition, coaching, and heart go a long way. Teams like Harrison, P-Ridge, Woodstock, and McEachern are respected for the class and success they have earned. EP has a long way to go before it reaches that goal (if that is a goal of EP). BTW, Woodstock will take EP to the woodshed! I say again, Kool-Aid anyone?

Be it known…Griffin High has a very talented team this year, like most years. They are fast, and the new spread offense is fitting for a team with the speed of Griffin. That being said, they are also small. The first real test will be against Mt. Zion of Jonesboro, and they are fast AND big. They beat us last year, and are also off to a great start to their season. (congrats) I hate to say it, but after seeing GHS early on, and knowing what they have, I’m afraid they will struggle this friday and lose to Mt. Zion. Just being objective. The game is in the bears den, and on TV, so it should be a good one. Go Griffin. The team nobody knows about, We’re # 2 !!!
