Coffee 30 Pierce 6 for what it’s worth.

Coffee just might be a little better than a lot of people are giving them credit for. Tonights’s game wasn’t as close as the score and last week’s loss to Ware County was just plain wierd. Other than Lowndes, 1AAAAA is going to be a strange bird this year. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th seeds are literally going to be up for grabs and just may offer a lot more of a challenge to the “Northern” boys than they are expecting.

Gonna be a fun, different kind of year this year my friends.

Newnan rated r defense allowed lagrange 81 yards and 2 first downs last week. The defense didn’t give up a first down until 3 min left in 3rd quarter when the jv was in. Truly impressed with them. Keep an eye on union grove this year. Also very impressed with lowndes.

I am impressed with Lowndes. I actually thought P.Ridge was a contender but for north GA it is now N. Gwinnett or Grayson. Grayson has the best defense in the state, no doubt about it but their offense missed operatunities this week. Team that has me scratching my head is South Gwinnett, they that good or their opponents that bad? Second week with 49 points!

I thought Vikings were renowned travelers??? Seems as though you can beat up on an opponent when your bass drums are playing during their snap count, but for some odd reason just can’t win when you come to the big city.

First question is why the shock about Warner Robins showing up against Grayson. For goodness sake, it is Warner Robins HS, the program with 2 National Championships and 5 State Championships. The program is not going to simply roll over when they face the likes of Northside-Warner Robins, Lowndes County, Valdosta, etc. on an annual basis. This board was told to pay attention to that game. Hats off to the coaching staff of Grayson. It takes courage to open your season against Camden County and Warner Robins. At least someone in metro Atlanta has some courage.

Grayson posters, do you guys really believe that football programs like Lowndes County, Northside-Warner Robins, Camden County, Valdosta, etc. sit around and cry about last season. When over 150 guys try out for your football programs and there are multiple state championship trophies in the school’s trophy case, the kids are focused upon one thing. That is winning the next game, then the next game, then the next. They want to live up to a tradition and standard that has been set by many players and teams before them.

I know it was one of the greatest moments in Grayson HS to beat Lowndes. Ironically, the Rams were unable to maintain the momentum, a sign of a program that has not arrived. I have never heard so much chatter about a quarterfinal round game. Lowndes County has 5 State Championships dating back to 1980, and 3 of the past 5 State Championships. Grayson has NEVER reached a State Championship game in football. It appears that Ram posters are living in the past. You guys should show some respect for a great program. They just hammered your supposed fellow Gwinnett County power. Give us all a break!

99 times out of 100 Lowndes will beat Grayson. You got 1 welldeserved win last season. Lowndes County has every reason to feel confident about their team. The AJC and half of the board was making Peachtree Ridge the next coming. Reality check. Grayson struggled against a down Warner Robins team and a rebuilding Camden County team. Your Rams may not be as strong as you guys think. Obviously, Grayson can not put up points.

Camden beats First Coast 30-24 on a 40 yrd pass as time expired at the end of the game. Camden really escaped with that one. We just aren’t very good this year. I’m actually concerned about the Hoover game now

Lowndes….wow. Vikes are the real deal….

Stephenson 68-0 on Columbia tonight,. The Jaguars jumped on it from the get-go and breezed. Five one-play possessions for TD. One two-play possession for TD. One 3-play possession for TD. A safety AND a blocked punt for a TD. Just damn. Stephenson has outscored opponents 110-0 in its first two games…..

For me tonight makes Lowndes far and away the number one team in the state. Grayson barely beat Camden (who struggled mightily against an average First Coast team) and only put up 10 against Warner Robbins. I don’t want to hear about how much possession and how many yards they had against Camden and Robbins, Lowndes got it done tonight whereas Grayson has just been squeeking by.

Also more on Camden, I think they’ve probably had the best pass defense in the state most if not all of the past six years. That is not the case this year. Camden will be very vulnerable to any pass offense this year, and that vulnerability will be a big issue verse Hoover.

It’s amazing that all the Grayson people really think they are the stuff now because of the out come of the Lowndes game last year. You guys were a fluke. You choked the very next game. You guys weren’t for real. How many state titles do you have……NONE. So, please put your one minute of fame to rest. Right now you guys are overrated. Lowndes will redeem themselves this year when it’s all said and done. Overall we have a much better complete team…..so bring it!

WHERE IS TODD HOLCOMB? I expect a metro Atlanta program excuse thread to come at any moment. I am certain that Todd Holcomb will be reporting about a Wednesday afternoon outbreak of the swine flu at Peachtree Ridge HS which hindered P-Ridge’s best effort.

Todd, a great Georgia High School football game pairs the top two programs in the state. Let’s agree that Peachtree Ridge is not one of the top two programs in the state. As I told you, the Camden County/Grayson game deserves real ink. Peachtree Ridge traveling to Lowndes County does not deserve ink. Ironically, I expect very little ink from you or any of your partners at the AJC since Peachtree Ridge did what most metro Atlanta teams do when they travel south, which is getting the score run up on them. Lowndes County 51, Peachtree Ridge 17. The Vikings play the third stringers in a game that Todd Holcomb proclaims is a potential Georgia classic. What P-Ridge team are you watching Todd? Admit it, you drank the Kool-Aid…the AJC/metro Atlanta hype!

Yo, don’t worry. If these Gwinnett County programs are the best the metro Atlanta has to offer the classification that they created in order to win more state championships will see two teams from south of the Gnat Line in the State Championship game. Trust me.

Everyone here is going to act as though Warner Robins is so good. They are not. They have a new QB, new RB, and new Off. Linemen. They will be fortunate to finish 4th in their region.

lowndes fans, not quite sure what your talking about i and alot of others are giving respect that was VERY impressive last night. we have 0 state championships this being our 10th year open i would say we have come a long way. the only reason were talking about last year is because some ignorant fans like viking are saying yall should of won. some are blaming refs… that is living in the past. Fans that no football at grayson respect yall and are confident just as you being 2-0. a w is a w. Good luck the rest of the way and we hope to see you in the playoffs… but quit bashing us becuase we are a contender

Was this really the #3 team in AAAAA or is it just another example of a metro-atl team that is way overrated. 51-17….holy cow. poor little old Lowndes lost Greg Reid so they just weren’t gonna be any good no more. Wake up people, this is a winning program, not a one man show. The Vikings send a few kids to major Division 1 programs every year and simply replace them with a sophomore who shines for a few years and then does the same.

Yes, we are struggling this year but, we must take the pain that comes with a young team, Grayson and PeachtreeRidge are vastly overrated. They struggled greatly with two teams that are in the process of rebuilding. Good job Northside. Wonderfull, job Lowndes. The trophy seems as if, it may stay in the south again. Coach the fans in Camden County love and respect you, but its time to make a quarterback change. I respect what are doing but the kid is holding back our offense back, please, play Ruiz. Coach you’re the one with the three State Championships so i will trust your judgement. Ruiz just plays and look better.

Congrats to Lowndes. Shocked at the margin of victory. I know Lowndes scored on a kick return & 2 defensive touchdowns, but offensively putting 30 on the Ridge is still impressive. As far as Grayson goes,
just because they left points on the field doesn’t mean they are overrated. You still have to play that defense. They just need to work on the red zone offense & field goals.

Problems through the 2009 season alert: Tift County. What has happened down in Tifton? Does anyone know if they have opened a new school or something. Tift County is one of the great historic programs in Georgia with big time facilities, athletes, tradition, and everything needed to win.

Brooks County 27, Tift County 7 (in Tifton). Seriously??? This is the second straight season that Brooks County has easily beaten Tift County. What is the problem down there?

Ramfan, you are not suggesting that Lowndes County has not cemented itself as the AAAAA favorite…are you? When you run up the score 51-17 against the 3rd ranked team in the state (who finished Runner-Up and returned everyone), you have basically put the state of Georgia on alert. Do you actually disagree with that? Seriously?

Picture this “Editorial cartoon” that should be in today’s “Valdosta Daily Times”.

The set-up.

As the Peachtree Ridge team buses are approaching the Lowndes exit on I-75 South Coach Bill Ballard is reading his interview in “The Daily Times”. He has just read his Quote.

“To win state you’ve got to go through 1-AAAAA at some point”.

He glances out the window and notices a large flashing orange sign mounted above the Lowndes exit sign.

It reads.

“WARNING. NO THROUGH TRAFFIC”

Responding to all the “Grayson barely beat–” comments. We barely beat Lowndes last year too. Peachtree Ridge barely beat us in double overtime. That’s just the way we do it. A win is a win right? Fact is, last time I checked, to win- you have to score. We play defense and control the clock with our offense. That’s the way we roll–

EagleNationRising, I congratulate you on articulating facts instead of fantasy. We Lowndes fans appreciate hearing informed opinions instead of kindergarten dribble. Peach Tree Ridge …. I’m impressed that your young men could come to the Concrete Palace (hard for any visiting team to win here) and maintain their composure and sportsmanship. Well coached team and good hard nose players. Your program deserves respect and we give it. The Ridge has a Championship history and for the Grayson fans out there, that’s what matters. Get some history under your belt and then start talking. Maybe then you will get some respect.
