Georgia High School Football Daily Spotlight: A look at the state’s top kickers and punters

As part of an ongoing series, GHSF Daily has been listing the best five players in Georgia at the following positions – quarterback, running back, receiver, offensive lineman, defensive lineman, linebacker, defensive back and kicker/punter.

Today, we finish up with kickers and punters. In making these choices, we value a history of production over potential (listed in alphabetical order).

NOTE: These picks are made by GHSF Daily, not by the AJC or its staff.

Austin Breed, Dunwoody: Breed was the first team all-state kicker in Class AAA after making all 13 of his field goal attempts in 2008.

Conner Hawk, Norcross: Gwinnett’s best all-around kicker last year, Hawk made 14 of 19 field goals and averaged 38.8 yards per punt.

Richie Leone, Roswell: Leone averaged 42.2 yards per punt, made seven of 11 field goals and put 28 of 35 kickoffs in the end zone in 2008. He has committed to Houston.

Joe Mansour, LaGrange: Mansour, who has committed to Kentucky, averaged 41.0 yards per punt and put 46 of 59 kickoffs in the end zone last season. He was 6-for-11 on field goals.

Justin Moore, Marist: Moore made seven of 11 field-goal attempts and all 48 extra-point tries and put 29 of 69 kickoffs in to the end zone last season. Moore has committed to Miami of Ohio.

Others: Edward Chipple, Liberty County; Ben Crump, Murray County; Knox Delaney, Glynn Academy; Rustin Evatt, Peach County; Adam Griffin, Calhoun; Asher Holland, Jenkins; Ethan LaPan, Aquinas; Will Monday, Flowery Branch; Devon Pike, Northside (Warner Robins); Evan Scott, Hardaway

GHSF got it wrong with not selecting Jawuan James to the Super 11. I mean is is an All American left tackle ranked # 8 in the nation but not in the states top 11? WOW!!!!!

As far as Kickers go….Keenan Adams at Bainbridge is as good as it gets!!! He is a Jr this year and was 3 for 3 on FG this week at Cairo. His longest was 52 yards!! Also had great punts and made the only extra point attempt and Kickoffs were perfect. Last year was 31 for 31 on XP and high % on FG.

Exactly Overman, how could Keenan been left off this list? Oh wait, because he’s in South Georgia, every thing on this forum is middle Ga and above. But Keenan can kick with the best of them, a 52 yd. fg with room to spare, and he’s only a junior.

Adams beat us no doubt!! He is the best high school kicker I have EVER seen. The 52 yarder would have been good from 55 and his kickoffs and punts were the best plays of the game for Bainbridge. I will enjoy watching him in D 1 in a couple of years. (Just keep him out of FL!)

The kicker for Rockdale County High School is pretty solid, he averages 5 touchbacks a game and has hit 2 field goals from 31 and 46…. Great leg. Consider him on here?
