macrotech- Dude. You're such a baby. Quit crying about Connor not going to GT. He doesn't want to compete with his brother and wants to play for a big name coach. Give him and SC some respect. I don't care what you say to me but you can't bash him and SC just for not picking GT.

As much as I'm sure Connor would love being around Jaybo, and his family, it's never a bad thing for a sibling who my be competing for the same position as his brother to go to another school, especially if there is a slightly different skill set between them.

In this case, people seem to forget that Jaybo wasn't as highly recruited as Connor, so the fact that he has the opportunity to play in a system that will allow him to explore different QB "talents," Connor will a chance to shine on his own.

Congratulations on the scholarship to South Carolina, Connor, and best of luck next season and during your career in Columbia.

if he had gone to gt he wouldn't have competed against his brother he would have ended up getting redshirted and by that time is brother would have been a senior and the following year he would battle it out with Jordan luallen. He probably went to SC because of their lack of any good qbs.

GT fan here saying good for him. We would have LOVED to have him, but turning down Spurrier and his excellent QB coach GA Mangus would be a tough thing for any talented QB.

Seriously, say what you want to about USC east, but being a QB and having Spurrier want you is like being a software guy and having Bill Gates want you. Can you blame anyone for taking that???!

I wish him well. We were in his final two, and he decided to go his own way instead of follow his big brother. Anyone who cannot at least respect his decision is being ignorant.

"We own the muts?" Now that is funny!!! Must be comedy hour. And all along I thought Tech people were good at math. Go check the series record, the past 25 games, and better yet, the past 20 games. One (major) upset win does not change anything. Good luck against another Top 10 UGA team next November. You'll need it.

Roll call for Robot, Techies.

Good for Connor. He might have a shot playing for the coach formerly known as Steve Spurrier. We're set for years at QB at Georgia Tech. I KNOW THIS ...... Nesbitt is a 100 times better than Joe Cox. He looked awful in the G-Day game HAHAHAA. 45-42!!!! We own the mutts.

PTC Dawg: SIAA, SoCon, and SEC titles combined are all recognized at SEC titles by all SEC schools. It was always the same conference, the name simply changed over the years. Then the SoCon was reorganized as a I-AA conference. YOU are wrong. And did you have any comments about the National Titles? Didn't think so.

A good choice for him, any qb with hopes of playing in the NFL, or playing qb in the NFL would be foolish going to Tech. Granted Spurrior's qbs haven't done well in the NFL but at least they learn how to throw the ball.

smydauf- You're oblivious. I can remember at least 3 without even looking up to find them again. You need to chill out and go have another beer until you pass out. That's all GT is good for anyways.

It's really a crying shame that most of these opinions on here have poor grammar, poor spelling and poor reasoning....talking smack is a sure sign of idiocy and if you were in person or in a business meeting you would keep your mouth shut....like the old cliche' ....it is wiser to remain silent and be thought a fool than to one one's mouth and remove all doubt!

I think he's a Miller Lite drinker so Tech's out for CS.

All kidding aside, I wish no ill will on him [CS], and I respect his honesty about not wanting to compete with his brother. However, I personally believe it goes a little farther than just his brother.

I don't know the exact details of the QB situation at SC, but I don't believe there are near the # of potential competitors at the position as there will be at GT for CS. After his redshirt year, CS would have had his brother (Sr), Tevin Washington (Jr), Jordan Luallen (Soph, if redshirted in '09), and David Sims (Soph, if redshirted in '09) to compete with for playing time. And CS is surely not going to college b/c he wants to watch from the sideline.

So SC is probably a great choice for CS; I wish him the best. And I do agree with the poster that says another 6-6 or 7-6 season under Spurrier, and the boosters at SC will be looking to replace the ole ball coach.

He obviously had enough sense to know that at UGA you're just one of

@The Man: I don't really see any Tech fans bashing SC or Connor. Maybe one idiot (who may very well be a dog fan) but mostly Tech fans appear to be wishing Shaw the best of luck though they would have liked for him to have come to GT. What the hell else do you want?

On another note I would like to compliment most of the Tech posters for showing a lot of class. Seriously, it reflect well on the school and fans. There are not many colleges with grads./fans who would wish a recruit luck after he chose a different path.
My father was an engineer ,no class however.....he went to clemson!(TRUTH)

Good luck kid. You gotta make your own way in this world. You'll be better off for it.

"BrainDawg" (who I suspect is an idiot): Last time I checked Georgia Tech's football program has 4 National Titles and 15 Conference Titles (including 13 SEC). I guess if your reasoning is correct UGA is a Gymnastics school?

Some of you GT fans are messed up. You're talking crap about Connor and SC just becausse he decided to go there? Very mature. So if he decided to go to GT would you still talk crap about him? I'd think you would wish him luck and hope him and SC does good so he can beat UGA but apparently you're too busy crying about him not wanting to come to GT.

Good choice Conner. You won't find a better coach to learn the quarterback position from than Steve Spurrier, if you listen to him and soakup what's he's teaching. Hope you win ever game.....except when you're playing the Gators.

Regardless of what Spurrier has said about how long he will stay at South Carolina, he is 64 and another 6 and 6 or 7 and 6 season will
have the alumni running him out of town. His last 2 seasons have produced 13 wins and only 1 bowl game (a blow out loss to Iowa). Spurrier won at Duke and Florida but expecting him to win in Columbia is absurd. I wish Connor well but he is foolish if he thinks SOS is going to be there for his 4 years in Columbia.

The Shaws are a class family. Conner was the offensive MVP at the recent Scout Combine for recruits. He has a quick release and is an excellent QB. I am surprised UGA was late jumping on this kid.

It will hurt to watch Connor succeed at SC, as he most definitely will, but I don't think Tech fans will hold it against him. You've got to respect the honesty he showed, unlike a recruit from last year's class.

Briandawg,

Tell that to big brother Jaybo, who came in during the 4th quarter against UGA to pick up a crucial 1st down and keep the clock moving and keep UGA fans streaming towards the exits.

Connor is a smart kid and will do well wherever he lands.

I like the statement that SC is a football school - pure genius! GT (and UGA for that matter) have been to more bowl games on their current streak than USC has been to in the school's history. What a moronic comment. GT has more national championships than SC has bowl wins. I'm just amazed at the idiocy of that comment.

Braindawg must not know how many players GT puts in the NFL every year - GT has been a national player in football and basketball for much longer than SC - SC wasn't a national player in either until Lou Holtz came along - the kid is going to SC cuz that's where the evil genius is
