Having grown up in GA, I have to say that DAWG and Gator fans are cut from the same cloth. Both very hard to take. Been in Florida for past 20 yrs and Nole fans are much less arrogant. Even during the 90’s FSU fans were never pompous jerks. Therefore, as a public service to all Nole fans. When a Georga fan starts in on the current probation or Free Shoes U just respond with 2 words ” JAN KEMP “. Any Dawg fan knows who this is. It may be a 25 yr old issue, but it is far worse than a ” Loose Cannon ” academic advisor or a young girl giving shoes to a couple of football players at the mall. This was an institutional violation at the deepest levels of the university.

Read the facts.. NONE of the football players that played in ANY games were involved- the “teachers” did not even work for Florida State University.. in addition, NO coaches were involved or aware of… ever. Why should all those innocent people who contributed to the wins be punished. It is such a travesty- the way it is reported is so inaccurate to the average reader. Like I said- publish the details.. and the FACTS!

Better to be a “has been”, then a “never was”. I guess there is always 1980. Or were you UGA posters even alive then? It was a laugher to see all the UGA fans so pumped for the ‘02 Sugar Bowl. You could sure tell they hadn’t sniffed a BCS bowl, by the attitudes of their redneck fans. I must admit, the Sugar Bowl win over a powerhouse Hawaii club, sure raked in the viewers. Many of you UGA fans just need to worry how to stop being UF’s bitch.

Ben thanks. I have no issue with FSU as a whole and have family in Tallahasee some have even worked for FSU. Also Bowden is a great guy as others have stated. I’ll take my shots at fans for either school who do not know what they’re talking about.

UGA Basketball… dunno don’t really care as long as they do not get the school in trouble (as they have in the past) I’m happy. As for most UGA fans not sure but FSU created enemies in the old conservative fans with the Neon Deon days. Dunno isn’t my opinion.

I was looking at LSU’s and Tenn.’s records against UF and they are not much better. Hats off to FSU they did better than anyone against UF until Urban rolled into town. Bowden more less owned Spurrier and Zook.

‘09 UGA? better team leadership and a more balanced offense that does not rely on the arm of a heavily hyped QB. Hopefully heathly OL and DLs. UGA has been short on those the past 2 seasons.

Ben- FSU likes to re-wright history. Ask them what year they were established. A few years ago, they decided to change it so now they are older than UF. It was so easy, they might decided that they are in fact the oldest university in the country. It would be just as much BS.

Unlike UGA (whose only issue with UF is that they can’t beat them in football), FSU has a MAJOR inferiority complex. They the lesser school academically and athletically and they know it.

What does does every UF and FSU student have in common? They all got into FSU!

From play I saw in 2008, UGA has bigger issues then FSU’s recent dealings with the NCAA (the same governing body that embarrassingly tried to remove “Seminoles” as the official school mascot despite a long relationship and official approval of the Florida Seminole Indian Tribe).

Hey Buddy, I’m going to help you out when you put down the gators, it makes more sense to say Gayturd. It will go along with you fecal infatuation, it makes it more relevant when you say “i smelled you”…As far as FSU goes in 1902 it was known as Florida State College and yes they did play football until 1904. From 1905 to 1947 FSU did not have a football program unless a group of girls played touch near the Wescott Center. The real history begins in 1947 when the school became coed again, I don’t believe those games count…. Regardless of what you think of us, both programs have had the same number of Heismans, NCs, FSU has 3 more conference titles (and they have only been in a conference since 1992) and a lot more PROs. Both programs are very good but niether of us have an elite history, Good luck getting over the hurdle I don’t know if you have experienced winning an NC(unless you where born before 1980), I will tell it’s been twice now for me and it’s a great feeling.

Speaking of facts: Georgia beat FSU five times in the 50s. FSU beat UGA four times in the 60s. We tied 17-all in the ‘84 Citrus Bowl. Only game since was Dawgs win in the ‘02 Sugar Bowl.

Finally, do you blame Mark Richt — who I consider a classy guy — for all the trouble UGA players have gotten into in recent years? Then nobody can blame Bowden for not supervising tutors who answered to academics and not the athletics dept.

OK! OK! OK! UGA and FSU Fans!!! CALM DOWN! Wow, such animosity about who is this and who is that! To me, Georgia and FSU are very comparable programs. 1) they both play in BCS conferences with definite edge to UGA for playing in the top conference SEC year after year. 2) They both have outstanding facilities and stadiums. 3) They both recruit on a top national level, most of the time in top 10 4) they both have top coaching staffs 5) Both have loyal fan base following and tradition with edge going to UGA because they have a longer history 6) And last but not least, they both bow at the feet of the University of Florida mighty Gators. I call it pretty much a draw!

For those of you with the old Green Bay “G” argument: Green Bay introduced their G in 1961. UGA introduced a similar G, different in design and color, in 1964. Although it was clearly different, UGA still consulted with Green Bay and everything was cleared. In fact, the Green Bay “G” has been redesigned several times since 1961and now looks like the original 1964 UGA “G”.

Ben FSU being back is hypothetical too. Otto is a screenname and was the mascot in place of UGA the season I went to my first UGA game. The ESPN ranking was most prestigous scored over decades and saying UGA is not in the same league as FSU is just not reasonable. As far as UGA accomplishing what FSU has both have 2 Heismans and 2 national titles with others that maybe disputed. Yes FSU achieved alot of success in a short period of time and had one of the greatest runs in CFB history. If you want to point to recent history UGA has had a better run than FSU since Richt.

Read the actual sanctions before you post stupid comments like FSU not being able to play in bowl games. Probation isn’t suspension it’s a period which the school will be under extreme scrutiny and subject to further sanctions should their be additional violations. If I’m a recruit I might be concerned at first, but it’s not like we are vacating any games they will be playing in or taking away their scholarship. As long as things stay in check we can and very well may play for a National Title in the next 2-3 years.

Ben both have had great runs and UGAs current run reminds me of the 80s with Bobby at FSU. FSU just could not put it all together.

USC, Texas, and UGA have most consitantly won 10 games and been in the Top 10 at the end of the season since Richt came to Athens (02 Sugar Bowl?). FSU has been fighting to get back on top for the same period of time. Richt has another top recruiting class coming off another 10 win season.

If Richt can keep winning like Bobby did, it will only take time before they get the breaks to get a BCS title. Ask Bobby and his field goal kicker, it takes some luck to get it perfect. Keep remembering the glory days… Wide right or was that wide left?
