Let’s just wish him the best no matter his decision. I have said before, at this point with the great stadiums, facilities and great fans, one big decision and difference is the COACH he will play for. Im biased, but i do know who i would choose. Good luck and God Bless Orson.

WestPalmDawg, his mother says she will sacrifice the money and the time for him. Wouldn’t it be nice if he put his mother first. I would think doing something nice for his mom by not putting her through all that would be a huge factor in his decision process. She could go to all home games and some away games if he stays with UGA and she wouldn’t have to work overtime to do it.

Sounds like he’s heading to USC. Orson might want to rethink geographical reference. If his mom’s working overtime, can she afford to fly to California 1-3 times a month? Will she have time?

I drive from Tampa to Atlanta every month, it’s a lot easier AND cheaper trip than a flight to LAX.

Cuz, aren’t you going to sing for us tonight? I have thought this matter over and Orson, here it is. 1. reasons to attend uga. a. UGA sends a lot of TEs to the pros. b. UGA uses the TEs in the traditional manner, like most NFL teams. c. Coach Richt’s religious beliefs closely mirrow yours d. Your Buddy and HS QB may be your QB at UGA. 2. Reasons not to pick UGA. a. You want to be a “hybrid” TE. UGA already has a “hybrid” TE. b. Arthur is bigger than you and probably a better blocker. If WRs are expected to block at UGA how about TEs? c. Do you really rexpect Brown or Green or King to sit on the bench while you line up at WR? Well, looks like it’s four-three in UGA’s favor.

That would be lying! USC is his best shot for the league if he is willing to compete.

It doesn’t seem like Tennessee is on top, but I would assume Tony Dungy and Monte Kiffin would have a pretty good friendship.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Coach Dungy gave UT a little more of a nod.

Denver Dog, Watson, Pope and/or Millner better than Witten? Seriously? Think you might lay off the Puppy Chow.

USC has a dynamic program. OC could go there for the name recognition but would sit for 2 years.
UGA has a load of talent that seems to falter in the big games. Not sure he is a fit there.
UT has a storied history, but has seen hard times of late. They have plenty of potential for a return to glory with the new staff…ala USC with the hiring of Carroll a few years back.

Personally, I think OC chooses UGA – - – and personally, I think his best option would be UT.

We shall see.

I believe the best tight end in pro fooball came from Tennessee Jason Witten. I can’t even think of a tight end that came from ga. uga gets less done with more every year. I hope they are picked # 1 pre season again Talent is wasted in ga. No it(ga) doesn’t need to be capitalized. Go Vols.

he will go to ut,at usc he will get lost in the crowd, and georgia is the most underachieving team in the nation with the quality players they have, if carroll was coach for georgia they would have 2 national championships, i moved to georgia from south carolina and am tired of hearing about the 1980 team and hershal walker, if he goes to tennessee they will be better than georgia in 2 to 3 seasons. mark my words.

I think all the schools have something to offer Orson or he would not still have them under consideration. I think that he is has been talking to the UGA coaches the most recently tells me that UGA is the leader. I also think because this young man is such seems to keep referencing his faith, and praying, and meeting with his pastor, makes me think that UGA is probably the best “fit” for him. I do not see ED O and the wild boy shirtless coaches of UT having that same nurturing effect with this kid.

How can some of you blog on here without information on this guy. If you were a UGA fan then you would have the info . If you ain’t, who cares what you think?

He started the recruitment visits late and is not posturing behind any “minder” like Bryce Brown. He focused on winning his high school championship first, then went on his last visitations. I think April 1 is the deadline for highschoolers to commit to college. Feb 4 was set as formal committment date by letter, but doesn’t mean that is the last day for notification. It means that other schools can stop recruiting them when they sign their LOI.

USC should always be worthy of consideration if you are an athlete and can play under Carrol. That said, it isn’t like UGA isn’t loading the NFL with players and that UGA can’t compete with every team in the nation every year. I’d say the difference is that football never dies at UGA. USC is glamour, and UGA is grit. Be a Dawg and tear it up Orson! We have had a minor slump with tight ends and hope you can work hard and have a chance at being the next Leonard Pope or Ben Watson or Randy McMichael.

For those who says he will get better exposure @ USC than UGA. You must be smoking the good stuff. 1. He will be playing in the SEC, almost Every game is televised! 2. UGA uses their TEs to the maximum. 3. There is no Pac 10 conference championship game on primetime, like the SEC. 4.The SEC and ESPN just signed a mega deal. I could go to twenty, but I do not feel the need to! GO DAWGS!!!!!!!

Keep up folks. Everyone knows that he will not be a traditional TE at UGA. When someone mentioned that UGA would use him as one, he called Richt to make sure it wasn’t true because Richt had already told Orson that they would develop schemes to use him split out in the slot etc. and not only as the traditional chip and drag TE. (All of this has been previously reported by Rivals and AJC). And for those of you who haven’t seen him play, go to youtube. He is a very good big reciever who can really go up and get the ball high. He may be a hybrid, but maybe that means we will get a whole lotta mileage out of him.

UGA sure sends alot of young men to the pros, (usually their Jr,yr…..)
But, in a 100 yrs, it wont matter….
