UGA coach Mark Richt prays for the right recruits

Georgia coach Mark Richt revealed his secret on handling the rigors and stresses of recruiting: He prays.

“I put a lot of things to prayer, and this is one thing I put to prayer. I ask the Lord to ‘Give us the guys that belong at Georgia. The ones that don’t belong, work it out.’ I don’t get too bent out of shape with [recruiting], one way or the other. We’re going to get what we need. We’re going to get the right guys here.”

More than a month after signing day, UGA is still trying to put the finishing touches on its 2009 recruiting class. On Friday, tight end Orson Charles of Tampa will decide between the Bulldogs, Tennessee and Southern Cal. On signing day, Richt displayed a calm and cool demeanor in front of Georgia supporters eager for some last-minute drama. The Bulldogs missed on several high-profile prospects, including Carver-Columbus linebacker Jarvis Jones (signed with Southern Cal) and safety Jawanza Starling (Southern Cal) of Tallahassee, Fla., before watching wide receiver Marlon Brown of Memphis select Georgia in the late afternoon.

When Brown made his on national TV, there were screams heard outside of Georgia’s football offices. Richt was doing a radio interview at the time, and said some of his assistants were very excited about Brown near the end of the pressure-packed day.

Well I think we all “hope” and “pray” that we can beat Florida and maybe win the SEC someday!

**To the AJC sports staff**

Please start registration and accountability of screen names so this can be a decent thread of conversation.

The article just stated that he prays for the “right fit” at georgia. While God does not care about football He DOES care about everyone, and answers prayer. *Psalm 34:15- “The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry”*

GO dawgs.

God answered Richt’s prayers and sent him Odell Thurman and Danell Ellerbee.

I am pretty sure the player that got in the most trouble went to Georgia Tech. I player named Rueben Houston, who got charged with trafficking. See these UGA players make mistakes. I bet you do to. I know I did. These kids are getting arrested for fighting and drinking. Not killing people, robbing places, or stealing cars. Every time you all try to put down UGA, you end up making yourself look worse with your ridiculous comments and ignorant ramblings.

I guess school’s out today; a lot of immature pontificating about faith. I like Mark; I think he’s a good fellow; not a wise or really smart one, but a good guy. Good luck to him.

His Holiness should pray that his thugs don’t kill someone with their off-field hooliganism. Maybe God will do something about it because Richt’s one game suspensions aren’t working.

“Richt, and the coaching staff (who are all good Christians to my knowledge) to help mold these kids into young men.”

Yup he’s done a real good job of this having 11 players arrested in the off-season. Yup he is molding these guys into criminals. BTW God doesn’t care about football.

How do you know God does not care about football? He cares about these kids doing right. He cares about his will. He cares about these kids succeeding. I think football has a large part in all of those.

As my post said after that one, just because someone has God in there life does not mean they will not ever suffer or make mistakes. God will let them suffer or let them make their mistakes, so he can mold their character and prepare to use them for his will. You should really think before you write, you sound very ignorant and dumb.

It’s so funny seeing the nerds constantly gloat about their 3 point victory against UGA after losing 7 straight. Such a sad state of affairs for that joke of a program. Can’t sell out a game unless UGA is playing there, ugly women, bunch of total dorks comprise the few fans they have.

And after UGA kills Tech next year, they will have nothing to talk about for the entire offseason except their awful basketball team and their terrible recruiting class.
