Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin and his staff made an unforgettable impression on some of the Southeast’s top college prospects on Saturday.
More than 100 high school players, including several of Georgia’s elite prospects, attended Tennessee’s Junior Day. Things started off rather routine. “It was just like your normal Junior Day, with coaches and other people from the college talking,” Brookstone tight end Brian Vogler said. “You could see heads bobbing, with eyes falling a little bit. But the second they split us up from the parents, it got so much more intense.”
The prospects were led to the film room, where Kiffin thanked the recruits for making the trip and considering the Volunteers. “Then this other coach [assistant] got up there and said that Tennessee takes special teams very seriously, that it’s a big key to winning,” recalled Northview defensive lineman Denzel McCoy, who has 31 early scholarship offers.
“That coach said they get real fired up on special teams and yelled for everybody to ‘Get up, get on your feet, and get fired up about special teams.’ Then this other coach ripped off his shirt Superman style. It was crazy.”
Many in the crowd weren’t sure how to react. “The coaches told us to stand up, but nobody really knew what to do. We started clapping, sort of like one of those ‘Ah, this feels awkward’ kind of things,” Vogler said. “The coaches yelled ‘OK, we’re going to give you another shot. We’ve leaving the room. When we come back in here, we want it really to get crazy.’”
Douglass defensive lineman Garrison Smith said the lights in the room dimmed. “This one coach stayed behind and walked to the side of the room. Then he kept slamming the [side] doors, as if the other assistant coaches were trying to break it down. It was like an angry dog or some wild animals were on the other side.”
After a few moments, Smith said the doors swung open and the Tennessee assistants ran into the room. “By now, three or four coaches had their shirts ripped off.” Smith said around 10 Tennessee players, including All-America defensive back Eric Berry of Atlanta and quarterback Jonathan Crompton, ran down from behind the recruits to meet the coaches on the floor. “Eric and the rest of the players were chanting ‘U-T, wild boys … U-T, wild boys … U-T wild boys.’” This time, prospects left their seats and joined the celebration. “We were all jumping up and down together, it was cool,” McCoy said.
After things appeared to calm down, Tennessee recruiting coordinator Ed Orgeron gave a rousing pep talk, which caused the whole scene to repeat itself, only more intense. “The last time, everybody was hyped up and feeling it,” Loganville tailback Storm Johnson said. “People were jumping all over the place. It was rocking. You should’ve seen it. Even the podium got knocked over.”
All four of the players said they never saw Lane Kiffin lose his shirt. “He was on the side, just watching and smiling,” Vogler said.
The action-packed introduction pleased the prospects, which each said they had never heard or seen anything like it before. “I talked to some of the Tennessee players afterwards, and they said they had never heard or seen anything like that before when they were recruits and visited colleges,” Vogler said with a laugh.
McCoy: “Personally, I liked it … It was kind of crazy, but it was cool. Coach Kiffin is trying to get everyone fired up about Tennessee football, and it worked. He had everyone in that room fired up.”
Smith: “I loved it, especially when that coach ripped off his shirt like The Incredible Hulk. It was high intensity. I enjoyed the whole day. They [Tennessee] definitely moved up on my list.”
Vogler: “It was awesome. I didn’t know how to react at first. I said to myself, ‘Oh my God, these people are crazy.’ Then after talking to them later in the day, I realized that’s just their style. That’s how they go.”

Richt at UGA would never do anything like that to motivate or fire a kid up or just have fune. Instead he would just promise a kid a certain jersey number. And then he would take the team for a swim and do a flip from the high dive. There is sooooo much difference in him and other coaches.

Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, or any other schools outside the state of Georgia SHOULD NOT get any press on the AJC or any other publications in Georgia. Only UGA, GT, GSU, & etc should get press. Don’t give these outside states’ schools any press. Matter of fact, take all the special (outside) schools’ logos off the Georgia plates.

All that bravado sounds well and good; something like Dabo Sweeny might do at Clemson. At the end of the day, however, X’s and O’s on the field win games.
Anyone can inflate a balloon with a bunch of hot air or helium. The question is, once the balloon gets airborne, can you actually pilot it or control, or is it going to sail away on its own. If you can’t, then what good is all that effort?
Give me a good strategist any day; someone who will get the most out of his team; someone who can make adjustments during the games; someone who is creative in his game plans; someone who can control his emotions and his team. That’s someone who will win consistently. That’s someone who will maintain the respect of his players.

“Love the State of GA”….I hate to break it to you, but if the AJC considers itself to be more than just a state newspaper, it has to include other school’s news.(especially the SEC). I am a Bama fan, with a daughter at Auburn, and there are large numbers of GA kids in school at both. Try not to take yourself, and the game of football, so seriously. Whether a team from the state of Georgia wins or loses, I will still take all bets that the sun will come up the next day…..That realization comes with age/maturity. Regarding UT, Kiffin’s time in Knoxville will be entertaining, to say the least. He’s “all in” with these levels of theatrics, with Orgeron leading the show. He will “live or die” by this stuff…I suspect the latter.

I can just see Lane standing up at the morning coaches meeting and saying, “Alright guys, we have 100 kids coming in today. How can we get these guys fired up?” Orgeron says, “We need to rip our shirts off and have a bunch of smoke!!!” Lane says,”Great idea ED!!!” Monte replies, “why did I leave Tampa!!!”

You vol fans have your hands full trying to justify the actions of this 33 year old juvenile. He certainly has much to learn, and it will come on the field this Fall. I have always liked the Vols (my son went there), but this guy is showing a lot of immaturity.
You Vol fans don’t have to respond about his “showing his immaturity” on the field come September. I already know how disillusioned you all are.

So the dramatics were to get the kids “fired up” were so they would commit that day. And how many did? The coaches wanted the kids to use their emotions and not their brains in making a college decision. Any decent coach can get kids “fired up”, this was just showing the prospects the coaches were good actors. Unfortunately for UT, most of these kids know there is much more to winning. There wasn’t a coach in the room that has ever been a winner. If there was, that coach would be in the NFL somewhere. This was just Kiffy and his crew trying to be memorable. If ya can’t win, at least be memorable. Wonder if they are going to rip their shirts off when Florida, LSU, Bama, South Carolina, UGA, etc. kick UTs tails. Good thing they have those high salaries to buy lots of shirts.

SEC fan: Uh, hate to break it to you but all schools do these Junior days and they don’t expect a bunch of them to commit to them at that point. It is clearly a process designed to get the recruits interested enough to put them in the top group for recruiting. Every so often you will have that one or two recruits that just know where they are going, but at this point they are just trying to be in the Top 3-5. It appears UT may have made that kind of impression. If they do well on the field (which I agree with you on) then this could reap huge dividends for them. If they don’t they’ll struggle to land the top talent.

I doubt that they had any thought of a kid committing at a junior camp. But according to the AJC there were several kids that left very impressed. Maybe if Kiffin had promised a kid he could wear a certain jersey he would have committed. ANd how many UGA coaches coached or coaches in the pros? About the same number as any other college program. And why would UT get the death penalty from this? I’m curious now.

You can have the best athletes on the field, but if they are undisciplined, or don’t have a good game plan to work from and the other team is disciplined and does, and your team can’t make adjustments and the other team can, then more times than not, the team with the so-called “better” athletes will lose the game.
Emotions will carry a player just so far in a game, as will physical skills. Intelligence and determination of the players, as well as great Coaching is what will win the games.
There are, obviously, some exceptions to this “rule”. For example, if injuries occur, or if weather conditions affect the game, then these might, perhaps, give an edge to the more “physically” superior team.

All the other SEC homers need to wake up. We can sit here and make fun of UT all we want, it won’t change anything. Keep talking Dawgs. You guys have not figured out yet the your coach is the next Fulmer. Had some early success and a good run(we won a NC but you UGA guys wouldn’t know anything about that), then became complacent, predictable and overly loyal(I’m lookng at you Willie Martinez). Next thing you know you will be losing to teams you should not be losing to (Tech) and seeing the losses pile up while your coach makes no changes and “works like heck” to fix things. The key indicator is the first time you hear Richt say “I’m going to need to look at the game film”. At that point it’s all over but the crying.
Seriously, for all the talent Richt has brought in recently what have you won outside of a pre-season #1 ranking? The one time you finally beat the Gators your coach spends a year apologizing for showing a little fire and Coach Urban Meyer went on to spank him for it anyway. Richt was scarred going into that game and your team was scarred going into that game. Believe me, I know what it looks like when a team fears the Gators every year, it does not end well.
Say what you want about Kiffin and this staff, the one thing I guarantee you is they will fear no team and our players will play hard. If Urban hangs 80 on us in September I guarantee you he will have had to earn every point, unlike the regular thumping he lays on you guys in Jax.

TC, I was aware that schools have Junior Days and I fully understand the purposes. So you think the only purpose for the shirt ripping show was to let these prospects know the coaches were excited and therefore could excite the players? Many coaches have prior success that demonstrates their passion and the ability to communicate enthusiasm. Not having a successful record to point to, I guess acting at a Jr. Day event is all these UT coaches could do. Kiffy and his staff are a bunch of failed pro and college coaches. Don’t be surprised if any day now Kif hires Paris Hilton as a trainer. Some of the UT fans and the AJC writers will go crazy. The UT bloggers will point out how she can motivate the players and some of the potential recruits will say “wow, that is really different, I am fired up”. Once the fires die down, the prospects will look at “The Man’s” record. Kiffy has always been different but his record as a head coach was 5-15 before he was fired. With a staff making the money these guys are getting and with their years of experience, I am glad the assistants can give a pep talk. That is a skill they will be needing while addressing next season’s losing record.

How can the AJC consider itself a national newspaper, when you cannot even get the thing in North Georgia, or even in Chattanooga TN BOokstores, which does have national Newspapers? First they stopped printing yesterdays news, and started printing day before yesterdays news. Then they stopped delivering it up here because the sales were too small. National. They are even statewide.

You guys cracking on O realize he’s just our fourth ranking coach right? He’s not even a coordinator. He’s doing what we need him to do in attracting players and setting a tone. Some of the Ole Miss fans on here understand what he did for their talent level. Plus, he was an excellent position coach at USC, but no one wants to admit they remember that.
This was a sales pitch based on establishing a tone of high energy with the Tennessee program. It worked. Every single HS kid in the article thought it was great. Perfect. Until the ball is snapped, all the guys can do is promote the new energy in the program, and let each one of the kids know exactly how they will fit into the program.
I have no idea what we can do on the field given how poorly Fulmer’s less energetic staff had recruited in the end. Two classes outside the top 20 in the last four years should have never happened at UT, so now, Kiffin and staff have to make the best of the situation.

Coaches can normally depend on their prior winning record as evidence of the coaches’ passion for winning and ability to inspire a team. In this case, with Kiffy’s losing record of 5-15 before he was fired, this was the only way to communicate these abilities to the prospects. The new UT coaching staff is a bunch of losers. Don’t be surprised to read that the next addition to the staff will be Paris Hilton as trainer. Fans and AJC writers will go crazy. Potential recruits will say, “this is really different, I am excited”. However, being inspirational and different doesn’t make Kiffy a winner. His is just has a different way of being a loser. Sharp prospects will see thru the smoke before making their decisions.

Dear “Kiffen is the Man”, Your coaching staff has many flaws that haven’t yet surfaced. Orgeron was doomed from the first day he took over at Ole Miss. He alieniated himself from the “money alums” when he repeatedly used foul language in front of their wifes ( calling one opponents coach a co-ks-cker numerous times) He definitely can’t coach…just look what Nutt did with the same talent. He’s nothing but a Louisiana backwoods scum bag. Lame Kitten has showm himself to be an immature little boy masquerading as a footballl coach who needs his daddy close by to guide the way. Tennessee will be lucky to win 4 games next year and I predict that Lame Kitten will be gone in 3-4 years. The recruits you do land will be the left overs that can’t read or write properly and are easily influenced by the garbage that Kitten and Orgeron will feed them. The smart athletes will see through their BS and sign with other schools. What you Tennessee fans haven’t yet figured out is that money can’t buy integrity or good coaching.

Hey SEC fan, keep hanging your hat on 5-15 in the NFL. A pro record is certainly always a total indicator of how good a college coach someone is…you know like Spurrier, Carroll, and Satan. BTW, how many sharp prospects saw through the smoke at USC and Ole Miss during O’s years. He and Kiffin brought in all that talent after Carroll’s first season…a losing season I believe. That worked out o.k., huh?
And wittle bitty Saint Nick, Lane’s just going to pat you on the head while that train is being pulled on you for years and years and years. Ole Dawg, I’ll repeat for the hard of hearing…O is not the head coach. Not the defensive coordinator. He’s a DL coach and recruiting chief, like Rodney Garner. Well, at least someone gave O a shot as head coach. Poor Rodney just fakes interest in other jobs until he realizes he’s not going to be the DC there either. Then he goes back with his tail between his legs and recommits all over again to his true love.
Monte Kiffin is the DC at UT. You might have heard of him. Legendary defensive mind. Cover Two genius. Nothing but respect from the entire coaching fraternity. Mentor to Dungy and Tomlin and others. Coach O and the other recruiting aces will bring in the talent and Monte will coach ‘em up on the D side.

This is the same Georgia that stomped and shredded the landmark hedges in its own stadium. This is the same Georgia that tried to change the BCS because it felt it should have gone despite not winning the SEC east. Whine boys. Difference between what Mark Richt’s staff does taking off their shirts at a pool and what Lane Kiffin’s staff does when taking off shirts in a film room = A pool and a film room. Perhaps people wear shirts at pools in New Jersey b/c it is so freaking cold.
Another difference: Doing backflips are natural at a pool with a diving board. “Ripping your shirt off like the incredible hulk and trying to break in like a wild dog” is not natural to a film room. At least any film room that I have ever heard of
These guys are clowns. Wait til it shows on the field.
I still believe Monte Kiffin is way overhyped; he will struggle to have a consistent defense with college players. Kiffin’s defense worked because of consistency in its personnel: Derrick Brooks, Simeon Rice, Ronde Barber, Jermaine Phillips, etc. In college, you get much more raw players year in and year out and when you do find a player who can thrive in the system, he is going to be gone in three years and will have to find another one. Derrick Brooks-like players only come around to a team every 15-20 years.

Saint Nick, I appreciate your enthusiasm; but seriously? Were they not going to try to beat the crap out of UT before he said anything? And, why exactly do you think they can do to Monte’s defense that nobody in the NFL could do?
You got three scenarios; only one bodes well for you:
1. Both teams beat UT senseless (no different than last year.)
2. UT plays both of them really closely (uh oh, he’s not supposed to be good at all, much less this good this fast!)
3. We actually win one or both of those games (insert suicide note here….)
We UT fans don’t expect to win it all this year. In fact, the rational ones know we could easily lose both of those games. But we know, and you better get used to the fact that UT is going to be a player in the SEC title hunt again.

Ole Dawg, I’ll type slowly and use small words just for you. Monte Kiffin is running the D, not coach Orgeron. That’s my whole point for that. I don’t know if Lane Kiffin can coach or not yet. He wasn’t given much imput at all on his staff or players in Oakland. Al Davis would not even let him hire Monte Kiffin to run the defense.
What I do know is that Lane Kiffin was smart enough to ask for less money for himself in order to hire a killer bunch of recruiters and still come in with only the fourth most expensive staff overall. I do know that his plan is based on what he and the rest of the USC staff did to become what they are now…recruit the best of the best…and he did it by taking away some of the best recruiters from other SEC staffs.
Can they coach? I don’t know. I know Monte can. I know Lane helped establish that powerful USC offense. I know Orgeron is a great DL coach. I know Eddie Gran coached a hell of a lot of good Auburn RBs. The rest, I don’t know.
I do know who allegedly had the #1 chicken salad in all the land this year, and I saw them turn it into chicken sh– in three easy steps. Thanks for trying. You lose.

All Kiffin and staff are doing is trying to invoke excitement into the players and prospective recruits, and it is working. I believe that is what most of you do not like, the fact it is working. I Kiffin and company can indeed equate the spirit of excitement into success on the field, all of the SEC better look out, even Florida and Alabama. My response is, “Yikes!” But if the recruits liked it, more power to him. But Kiffin is verifiably “NUTS” in my opinion. Either he is going to completely rule the SEC and get every “energized” recuit out there, or he will go down as the biggest “loony tunes” head coach in college football history. For my money, I would lay my bets with on the later and to with the proven recruiting techniques and coaching styles of Saban, Meyer, Miles, and Richt. They win with professionalism and sanity. This guy wants to win in insanity and no professionalism.

Couple of points:
1. The Bama fan above is right–the AJC aspires to be the flagship paper of the South. By that token, it has to offer coverage to schools throughout the Southeast, not just those from Georgia.
2. Kiffin is a nut job, but he clearly has placed a focus upon recruiting. Tennessee is a recruit-poor state, and the program’s success is largely contingent upon their recruitment outside the state. Right now, his perceived success will be based upon his success in recruitment. After next season, however, he will be judged on ths basis of his on-the-field performance. And that is where the rubber will meet the road. For now, the gimmicks may help. But Lane will eventually have to win a few games.

The comments on Meyer just turned Kiffins sec debut from a 31-14 loss into a 63-6 loss. You might also have the Head(LOL) of their College of Social Work(MORE LOL)pull Orgeron around by his nipple rings while he downs some Tangueray 10 martinis. I just hope that Lane’s senile demented old man is not exposed to this stuff. The guy will croak on the spot.
I wonder if Lane’s wife had seen her husband engaged in “Not That There Is Anything Wrong With That ” behavior with Orgeron if she still marries him??

I’m an Alabama fan and I’m anything but jealous. I love Lane Kiffin and I’m being dead serious. Here is a 5-15 coach who cracks me up every day. When I get up I get my early morning coffee and turn on my laptop. I always check the sports blogs to see what Lane or his coaches have said or done. They always do something that’s going to make me laugh, put a smile on my face knowing he is the head coach at one our our biggest rivals, and get me through the day grinning about whatever his latest gaffe is. I could not fathom having a more amusing not to mention non-successful coach at one or our biggest rivals. My only fear is that he will be gone after 2 or 3 seasons and I’ll lose a sure source of entertainment.

TylernLuke,
Let me school you on some knowledge. Saban went 15-17 with the dolphins and they lost they last 3 or 4 at the end of the 2nd season when a lot of their players pretty much gave up because it was apparent Saban was going to Bama. That’s far better than 5-15 and having Al Davis tell everyone what a liar you are. Kiffin is simply a bad coach. No ifs, ands, or butts about that. It is what it is. And the fact of the matter is that UT simply does not have the recruiting base that Ga, Bama, Fla, and LSU have. You have been reduced to irrelevancy in the east. And you’re just going to keep taking your yearly 25 or 30 pt whoopings at the hands of the gators. Good luck with that.

I got some INITIALS for you “IRS”, an agency that tends to frown upon people who under report their income. Income can consist of goods and services. A “good” could describe a rustic cabin in a scenic area. A “service” could be construed as a “job” procured for a family member as the result of accepting a scholarship. Now obviously none of this pertains to UT, but any school that suddenly began to turn athletes that previously voiced no inclination to attend that institution might be judged worthy of someinvestigation. Well, not so much the school because they can legally disburse as many properties and cushy jobs as they deem fit, however the athletes better be sure their reported income justifies living arrangements.
NO school in the SEC would ever be suspected, but there may be other schools that fit the profile.

NewJersey, the difference in this and Coach Richt letting his players (notice I said PLAYERS) have a day in the pool is that it wasn’t staged or planned AND the media wasn’t all over it. Only school reporters were there. What Kiffin is doing @ UT is WRONG on soooo many levels. I am a UT fan but I don’t wear the orange colored glasses. I think this entire situation has the chance to go either way. It can be a huge success or a terrible failure. Not a single person commenting here have a clue how this will go, including me. I do believe that his antics have been almost a necessity, not only for recruiting but to energize a fan base that has become as apathetic as the previous coaching staff. I certainly don’t agree with everything he has said or done, but more power to him at this point. He is trying to appeal to the UT fan base hungry to win again and a bunch of HS kids. I gave up trying years ago to figure out why kids choose the schools they do. It is why I quit paying any attention to recruiting. It is all a crap shoot! However, this style has worked well for USC in the past. The bottom line will eventually be wins and losses. For those of you who thinks he struggles this year, check out the schedule. This is without a doubt the best sachedule a rookie coach can have. I think he will struggle more in year 2 than next year. But he should flourish in year 3, if he signs a stud QB next year.

I understand the frustration that a lot of people on this site are going through. On one hand, the UT fans have been in a drought the past few years and are excited that someone has come and brought the excitement and enthusiasm back into UT football. His means may be unorthodox, but they are getting the attention of not only the recruits, but the people who disagree with him as well.
You all were obviously behooved enough, not only to read the article instead of worrying about YOUR university and their recruiting methods, but to comment on it as well. If you disagree with his methods, that is perfectly understandable. There are things that Kiffin does that I would not do, but I’m not going to publicly chastise him for it. I do not go to UT, but I do realize that what Kiffin is doing is smart. These recruits are still in High School! They enjoy things like this! They love to see excitement in a school’s football program! And too many of you are over-analyzing the message that this recruitment event was trying to do.
Kiffin may not be able to put all the pieces together and transfer all of this on to the field where it truly matters, but he is taking the first step. He is putting the effort in to bring as much talent into the football program at UT as possible. The better talent that he has to work with, the better schemes he can run, and the more opportunities he has to be successful and turn the University of Tennessee back into a successful SEC contender. And there are things that he has done that do not show class, but this is not one of them. He was simply connecting with the kids in a way that most coaches do not. And from the testimonies given by the recruits and the AJC, it sure sounds like it worked, like it or not.

1. Spellcheck.
2. English major? I think not.
3. Kiffin will not “owen” Georgia. Kiffin does not even “owen” Tennessee. Where did the top two recruits in the state of Tennessee go this year? Oh, that’s right. Georgia.
4. I think the odds of Kiffin being put on NCAA probation are greater than the odds of Tennessee winning the SEC East in the next five years.
5. I think the odds of Kiffin being indicted for public indecency are greater than the odds of Tennessee winning the SEC title in the next ten years.
Gimmickry, like your Tennessee diploma, will only take you so far, my friend. At some point, there’s going to have to be some actual substance. My suspicion is that the Vol fanbase will not be quit so enamored with Lane’s antics when he fields a losing football team next season and gets thoroughly humiliated by Florida, Alabama and Georgia.
At that point, they’ll see that the emperor isn’t wearing any clothes. The whole ripping-the-shirt-off thing is sort of ironic in that regard.

Good times in Rocky Top.
I’ll bet the president is proud. Oh wait … he’s resigning.
I’ll bet AD Mike Hamilton is proud. Oh wait, Kiffin fired him.
No he didn’t. Yes he did. No he didn’t. Yes he did .. along with his limo driver. Coach can’t fire the AD. Yes he can. He fired the president.
Welcome to the SEC, Coach Kiffin, or rather, Lord of the Flies.

I love it! You guys are scared to death! UT is behind the 8-ball in recruiting. We just don’t have the in state talent. This why you pay coaches millions. To get the best talent and then coach em up. If the shoe was on the other foot you would be slobbering on yourself. YOu GA heathens didn’t have problem when your kids bum rushed the endzone against UF. But now it’s not so cool. Just tell the truth, you’re worried about UT now.

Hey, “lame is the man”, (Could you be anymore of a hillbilly?), you sound like a child that just got his new Christmas Huffy bicycle trashed by the neigborhood bullies when referring to other posts from non hillbillies about your new found hero, Lame. You’ll, no doubt, be one of the ones calling for his head after 2 years of getting his eyes beat shut by opposing SEC teams.
Personally, the hiring of Lil’ Lame has been great where I’m concerned.
Listening to his sophmoric approach to coaching and watching his childlike antics during his pressers have been extremely entertaining, kinda like watching a circus clown. You guys think he’s your answer? Only if you believe chimps can perform brain surgery! It’s with morbid delight that I’ll enjoy watching this trainwreck as it happens. But, hey, he’s bringing recognition Hillbilly U, right?
Lane Kiffin’s salary… 2,000,000.00
Lane Kiffin’s coaching staff salary pool… 5,235,000.00
Watching Hillbilly U. fold up like a lawn chair
after Florida beats their collective eyes shut…Priceless

The whole thing soundcs like some Gay soft core film. Lets all us guys take off our shirts and dance together. Yee-haw.
One of the kids said, “That’s just how they go.”
He should have added, “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”
I guess they can go out afterwards and grind up on some Ho’s to convince themselves they aren’t really gay.

Can’t wait for all the Bama fans, Gator fans, and Georgia fans to be proven wrong. Only a matter of time before we are the class of the SEC and possibly the nation. It worked, the recruits loved it. Enthusiasm never hurt anyone, and we are displaying that we have more of it than anyone else and it will pay off in due time. As far as X’s and O’s, need I mention Monte Kiffin? Lane is a very bright man, which some of you are failing to see or just don’t want to give him credit for it. I know this for sure, if it were you’re school doing it, you would be smiling ear to ear just like I am. It’s crazy, it sounds like most of you guys are scared. GO VOLS!!!

You guys speak with such hatred, you fear what you do not know or understand, and the fact that you can’t see a good thing depresses me. I give props when props are due, even if this were another school, even in the SEC, I would say to myself that it was a great way to get exposure, hell, a paper that is supposed to be covering YOUR schools is giving us well needed publicity, much appreciated AJC. You just wish your coach would have done it first. Next thing you know Nick will be participating in 7 on 7’s and Urban will be doing cartwheels, and Richt, well he will just keep having his swimming pool parties. GO VOLS!!!

Hey Adam, I wouldn’t be too concerned right now about what Bama, Gator, Ga Fans think. Son, I’d be worried about Kentucky and Vandy fans! You better not make those guys mad or else they’re gonna have a piece of you too! And who exactly is your quarterback again??? HAHAHAHAHAHA. But thats OK, Im sure you recruited another Peyton Manning to come in and save you. Oh, you didn’t??? But you DID get some guy from Fla named Nukee. Let it be a lesson to you son, never take another mans Nukee! Boy, can’t wait to see THAT guy go over the middle against Fla! Son, the college football world isn’t laughing WITH you, they are all laughing AT you!!! And the reason I keep calling you son?? It’s because I AM your DADDY!

Hey all you rabid SEC fans, do you know that Lane’s father (Monte) coached at NC State in the early 80’s? Guess what? He did the same stupid stunts. After 3 seasons of 0.500 football, he got fired. I’ve talked with many SEC fans at work, etc., but no one has made the connection between what Lane is doing and what his father did. Do your research, you country bumpkins!
