Step right up and make your National Signing Day predictions

Do you think you know your recruiting? Do you have some inside information that no one else knows? Then let’s have some fun.

Take your best guess on where five high-profile recruits will sign on Wednesday …

Greg Reid, DB, Lowndes. It’s Florida State, UGA, and Alabama. His Lowndes teammate and cousin, Gerald Demps, is headed to Florida State, and some family members would like him to play a little closer to home (Tallahassee is 85 miles away, while Athens is 240). Reid admits with Georgia being his final official visit, they are in great position to make the biggest influence before signing day. Will it be enough?

Carver LB Jarvis Jones

Carver-Columbus LB Jarvis Jones

Jarvis Jones, LB, Carver-Columbus. The poker-faced Jones lists Florida, Southern Cal, UGA, LSU and Texas. There’s an “80-percent chance” he’ll go out of state. Mark Richt spent six hours with Jones on Wednesday. Was that enough to make Jones think about staying around home to play?

Darren Myles, DB, Carver-Atlanta. He is taking an official visit to Kentucky this weekend, but his dad says it’s down to Alabama, LSU, and Tennessee.

Marlon Brown, WR, Memphis. It seems like the entire state of Tennessee is counting on Brown to play for the Volunteers, where he is taking his final recruiting trip. Brown is close friends with Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor, but also told some Georgia commitments awhile back that he will be signing with the Bulldogs. Which is it? Tennessee, UGA, Ohio State, Florida or Ole Miss?

Jawanza Starling, DB, Tallahassee, Fla. Starling has had little to say about recruiting, which makes him maybe the toughest to read. He is the cousin of UGA defensive back Bryan Evans. His high school has sent a steady pipeline of players to FSU. So it’s FSU, Georgia, Notre Dame, Stanford, Florida, or LSU?

Copy and paste this format below, and insert your picks by each prospect’s name.

Preseason #1 = A bunch of band wagon recruits, when you lose 3 games (one being your in-state rival). Those recruits keep their pledge as a recruit, but look elsewhere. Georgia became greedy to, only handing out scholies to top flight candidates, who have no love for UGA. Hence, we have Michael Bowman and other recruits going elsewhere. When UGA does not fulfill its hype, can’t reel in the top National talent, UGA makes a last minute run at the states remaining top talent and are left in the dust.

Go after the talent that wants to play at UGA. If a kid has not decided until signing day, you are left holding a bag, holes on the field. When Richt was meeting needs last year, he should have done that this year. Lack of depth = exploited weaknesses = 4 to 5 losses.

**Michael** – Any information on Kwame Geathers? I’m thinking this guy may just be one of the most underrated and overlooked recruits in this years class. Word is he has standing offers from UGA, FSU, USCe, and Tenn. Also he just visited UCF this past week where his cousin apparently hosted him and tried to convince him to go to Orlando.

Any prediction where he ends up?

Big Mike,

Comments like yours are why a lot of sports journalists have a hard time taking fans seriously.

The headline says NATIONAL SIGNING DAY PREDICTIONS…Charles won’t commit to anyone until at least mid February and Massie eliminated Georgia last week.
