next year north carolina and tennesse have almost finalized a deal.. 2012 is already tied down but i dont remeber the teams the chickfila bowl committee says that they are in taks with teams like Texas, USC, and Notre Dame but no talks about ga or gatech.

I agree with Don: The Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic should alternate showcasing Tech and UGA against an intersectional team from PAC-10, Big-10, Big-12, or Big East.

i doubt if tech or uga fans actually attend this game, as normally, both teams have games being played on the same day. so there goes the call for a boycott. as for uga’s recruiting disavantage; so be it. if they refuse to play games in atlanta, that’s on them! that may be a reason they’re losing out on so many good recruits, but maybe they prefer their recruits come from j’sonville instead of the atlanta region. esp. since uga alumni hate the families and politics of atlanta players. i don’t understand why uga bothers to recruit atlanta at all! other than, to keep those good players out of other sec schools. supporters always claim, it’s about the money. but, i don’t think alabama lost money in the big picture. they more than make up for that in the long term! i think uga and their supporters are being shortsighted, and selfish on this issue. they would rather the people in j’sonville fla. make money instead of people who drive this entire state economy. serve’s em’ right, so quit crying about percieved recruiting disadvantages!!!!!!

I wouldn’t mind the Kickoff game branching out to include other conferences and maybe bring Notre Dame in here to face an SEC or ACC school every once in awhile.

So, we’re suggesting pitting two top teams from different conferences against one another? Don’t we already do that with the bowl games? The first game of the season is a great idea, too, especially when we don’t even know what our team is like on the field yet.
