Chipper & Bobby Cox need to go into retirement.Chipper just don't have it nomore'he swing a tree for a bat, which is slow,he can't play third base to slow can't move, never could run even slower now,Bobby had his days as manager long time ago when the Braves could have at least 3 ws which we only have just one to show.Dominated the 90's.he really need to go Frank Wren do you have the nerve to get rid of both of them.

Let's hope Chipper finishes his career a Brave. There are so few players anymore that stay with one team. I cannot imagine Jeter in anything but pinstripes, or having seen Ripken play anywhere else but Baltimore. Let's not even go there - please. I would like to ask you a favor however. I'd love to be able to see the trades that the Braves have made on a year by year basis since 1993. SO much talk has been made about how skilled & nimble the Braves are when they trade. I'm not really sure that is the case. The Smoltz trade was made before the current front office team was in place. They did do a good job with Maddox no doubt. However, after that, who have they brought in that actually stayed with the team more than two years and made a difference? More importantly, what kind of talent did they lose? That information is never brought out to the fans of Atlanta. What pitchers have we given up, and what did we receive in return? What pitchers did we get when we traded Jason Schmidt, Kevin Millwood, Paul Byrd, & Jason Marquis for example. What position players did we get when we gave up or traded Jermaine Dye, Raphael Furcal, Wilson Betemit, JD Drew, Gary Sheffield, Willie Harris, Mark DeRosa, Marquis Grissom, Salty, Elvis Andrus, Texiera (we gave up Tex & Andrus to get him!), Justice, McGriff, Javey Lopez, or Renteria, to name a few. It would take some courage to create a list because the Braves would not want that information to become public. How about it Mr. Bisher? Can we have a little research done and show the fans who we have lost over the years, what they have done in the careers, and what we got in return we they were forced to leave?

Dear Mr. Furman,
You seem to consistently write over exaggerated articles with a lack of thorough research. Some of your ideas have legitimacy (the farm system isn't what it used to be). So why do you always have to take such an extremist perspective in all of your articles. It makes you look ignorant, and I really think your smarter than that.

And , just to give Furman some credit for writing this article....no matter what you think.....he is right. If by some chance we make the playoffs, Chipper's bad defense will cost us big time. If the the hitting holds up and we catch Colorado, then who knows. Nobody wants to face the Braves right now. When does Infante come back?

If you are looking for a good laugh, I saw this post where there is a GM looking to trade Chipper: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/grd/1281102770.html

What Chipper got to say about Andruw Jones Now,since he so good about evalute player, but this one he got wrong he need to evalute his self. All Andruw needed was to get well from all the beaten he took making played for the Altanta Cracker Known as the Braves. Also Joe Simpson what you got to say.

I'm not wild about Chipper either. Not sure trading him is the answer. If we had some of the players we shouldn't have traded such as Dye, we might be in a different place. They keep mortgaging the farm for one season players and that doesn't help either. The Worst to First team didn't have any superstars. Other teams have gotten there without superstars. A manager who can get the most out of what he has is the answer. Bobby Cox no longer does that so I think that might be the answer rather than trading Chipper. Not sure we would get much for an aging, oft-injured player anyway.

Why is the AWFUL Kelly Johnson free from the criticism Francouer gets? He is horrendous and seems to never reach base, yet the AJC's ace sports writers harp on Francouer. (frenchy a terrible nickname for a southern kid by the way) Kelly Johnson should start paying the Braves for those great seats he gets to watch real MLB players bat. He is the worst everyday hitter in the history of baseball, yet we as Braves fans are CLUELESS about his lack of production.
