Sorry, Navi but you are wrong. Glavine's treatment lacked class. I did not have a problem with going for youth. Tommy Hanson did everything he could do at the AAA level. Wren's comments about inacurate radar gun readings and Glavine can't get major league hitters out was not necessary. After all, Glavine is not Mike Hampton. Glavine finished what he started in 1995, pitched shoutout ball in game 6 of the World Series to get the ring and that should never be forgotten. I sat in the stands with crowds under 10,000 many times in the 70's. Warren Spahn is the best Braves lefty of all time and Glavine is #2. We should never forget that and he should have been treated with respect even during his release.

If the Braves told him after he got hurt that there was no room - that he needed to retire - that's one thing. But to tell one of your hall of famers that you're behind him and willing to see if he can rehab his injury - then the day before he's set to get one - stinkin' million??

You're wrong, Houdini. Some businesses operate this way, not all. Businesses that are short-sighted do.

Folks, This is the way business and professional sports works! It has in the past, and it will continue to do so in the future when you have someone who doesn't want to retire.

Make this blog go away..............poof!

Hey I Agree! What is all of this sterotyping you are doing? Are you profiling? We all loved Glavine, and our Braves. I have no idea what your sharp tongued quips are all about. Maybe some of those posting are some of the 9.5 % unemployed your leaders have brought upon our once great and prosperous country. I guess Tommy is one of those too!

Most of us Braves fans loved Tom Glavine. He bolted for cash a few years ago, and that is OK. If he could deliver for the Braves what they needed, he would be out there on the mound. He must not have had that ability any more. We all deserve better from the players, and the teams, but that is the world we live in, and those are the guys we cheer for.

I am still wondering what the post was about Glavine's wife? I heard they just adopted a new baby and then read she left him? I pray not. I hope he did not loose his job and is having marital problems too. Anyway has anyone heard if he is thinking about still signing with the Cardinals? I heard it Thursday on ESPN and have not heard anything else about it. I am still a Glavine fan and wish him well and hope he shows Atlanta what a huge mistake they made. And I hope Smoltz wins every game.
