Restaurant Impossible is filming in Atlanta and Needs Help

Is Marie’s at Ummat Café a restaurant impossible? We find out, as Robert Irvine tears down the walls and turns the kitchen around next Tuesday and Wednesday. Food Network will be taping a “Restaurant Impossible” episode on April 29 and 30- and they are looking for construction help.

Here’s the details:

We are looking for individuals to help with the renovation of the restaurant within the two days. Volunteers will be painting, crafting, construction, remodeling, cleaning, decorating etc. (depending on your skill set). Always looking for skilled contractors, electricians, plumbers and painters to help out and donate their time. The volunteer schedule is as follows:

Shift #1 - Tuesday, April 29th: 1pm to 8pm

Shift #2 - Tuesday, April 29th: 8pm to 2am

Shift #3 - Wednesday, April 30th: 10am to 6pm

Any and all volunteers may be on camera. Please wear comfortable clothing & sneakers/boots with no logos.

Volunteers are not limited to one shift.

If interested, please email Jayson at (RIvolunteer@shootersinc.com) by Friday, April 25th, 4:00pm, with your preferred shift or shifts, full –name, email address, cell number and skill set or related profession (ex: plumber or painter). SUBJECT LINE: FN 902 ATLANTA VOLUNTEER.

There will be a grand re-opening on Wednesday, April 30th starting at 7 p.m. The general public can call to make reservations for the night by calling Marie’s at Ummat Café at 678-705-2266. They are located at 566 Fayetteville Road SE, Atlanta.

When did Robert Irvine change his name to Richard? I really enjoy watching his shows. When will this one be aired?

Wait wait wait…they want all these skilled tradespeople to work FOR FREE? Most of whom are UNIONIZED? Especially if they work in film…are they high?

Food Network is owned by Scripps Networks and the Tribune Company in a 70/30 split.

Scripps has a market capitalization of 10.93 billion dollars. Tribune has a market cap of 6.29 billion.

And they’re asking for free skilled labor. FREE.

Why do I have a feeling their respective CEOs wouldn’t be quite so magnanimous?

If you honest to God don’t think these companies would go back to slavery if it was legal, you’re insane.

I guess the bottom line is that deserving people in need get help and that is the prime directive. Does corporate America profit, undoubtedly. Do you and I donate a day, hopefully. Do people in need profit in non-financial ways, certainly. Just wish loud mouth hosts would acknowledge that it is a for profit endeavor.

Ned….Don’t think you will find many volunteers for this load mouth liar. They picked the wrong guy to come to the South and ask for free help. Bobby Flay would have had a line around the block to help him.

Why don’t their fellow “Mooz-lums” do it?

I believe that the idea is to get a community to refresh a failing restaurant to better serve the community, and this is hardly their first time in the South. They were at Big Jim’s Bama-Q in Ft Payne AL just two months ago.

I hope that this restaurant gets some great publicity and that Restaurant Impossible can renovate it to the owners liking.

Ignorant people above, kick rocks. You are of no use here. Buh bye :)

And so what is the issue with Robert Irvine?

Bob, the issue with Irvine is easily researched. He fabricated his background, was eventually fired for his lies, but since he has some fans, he eventually got his job back (or got a job on tv doing something similar).

Peace & Blessings Vactoria,

I know for a fact many “Muslims” will be helping as many “Muslims” helps every where else. Whenever you need help, Vactoria” a “Muslim” will always be willing. May Allah guide us, forgive us, and grant us the best in this world & the next.

P.S.: I’m excited for Marie’s! Help comes in many different forms, the man doesn’t matter as much as the blessing.
