David Sweeney at Sound Table
Peripatetic chef David Sweeney has landed at Sound Table in the Old Fourth Ward, where he’s offering a bar menu every Wednesday from Jan. 29 through Feb. 19. Navarro Carr will be pairing cocktails and Karl Injex will be curating the sounds.
Sweeney, known for his former restaurant Dynamic Dish, has worked at Cakes & Ale in Decatur and presented a popular market-to-table series at Octane Grant Park. At Sound Table, look for the likes of Belgian endive with cashew cream cheese and lamb and toasted millet kibbeh.

Gunshow’s New Cocktail Cart
Food isn’t the only thing presented dim sum-style at Gunshow, chef Kevin Gillespie’s innovative Glenwood Park restaurant. Now there’s a rolling cocktail cart that features drinks mixed to order using juices and ingredients from the kitchen.
Look for two different cocktails priced at $8 each, including a smoked old fashioned with Belle Meade whiskey, flamed cinnamon stick and orange oil, and as many as four different choices soon.
