Over the last few years we’ve witnessed a subtle, wonderful shift in the way people in this city go out to dinner. As much as they make plans to visit specific restaurants, they more and more head out for neighborhoods known for their good dining options and see where luck, fate and appetite take them.
From the newly built downtown center of Brookhaven, to the nightly party that Canton St. in Roswell has become; from the organic flowering of Edgewood Ave. in the Old Fourth Ward to the cannily retrofitted Luckie Marietta District downtown, Atlanta has become a city with street life, and this is largely due to the excellent dining options at all levels and in all sizes that have become available closer to where people live.

Each of these locales has the mix of walkability (even if you’re walking around a large mall), varied options, surprise discoveries and charm that makes them truly great food destimations.
