There are still a few tickets left for the Saturday and Sunday Public Domain Dinners at The Shed at Ponce City Market featuring chefs Angus Brown and Nhan Le of Octopus Bar.
Public Domain Dinners is a not so secret supper concept from the Athens-based creator of The FourCoursemen, Damien Schaefer, a graphic designer turned food impresario. On tour, Schaefer collaborates with local chefs to showcase local food, farmers and products, while supporting a local charity.
A recent collaboration at Good People Brewing in Birmingham featured Frank Stitt of Highlands Bar & Grill.
Here’s what Schaefer had to say about coming to Atlanta to cook with Brown and Le:
“I have not chosen these talented chefs simply because they created a unique dining concept. These dinners are my way of showcasing chefs and producers of quality food and ingredients that I think are important to the communities they are a part of. The chefs I choose to collaborate with have to not only be active in their local food scene and act as our connection to farmers and producers of the ingredients we will use in our dinner, they also have to have qualities that I think will create a fun challenge and lasting friendship for me, and a collaboration that will yield a dinner that I feel is the best example of what the city I am visiting has to offer culinarily. These guys do that in spades.”
The trio will come up with a five course menu with beverage pairings that will be revealed at each dinner.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Concrete Jungle, an Atlanta-based organization that helps to distribute unused food to the hungry.
Tickets for the Atlanta Public Domain Dinners are $120 at: publicdomaindinners.com/events.
