Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week 2013

ATLRW

Promoted as Atlanta’s original restaurant week, Downtown Restaurant Week paved the way for similar events in Buckhead, Midtown and other neighborhoods surrounding the city.

Version 2013 runs July 27 through August 4, with restaurants offering brunch, lunch and dinner prix-fixe menus priced at $15, $25 or $35, excluding alcohol, tax and gratuity.

Among this year’s lineup of  23 restaurants with specially priced menus, look for Alma Cocina, BLT Steak, Paschal’s, Ray’s in the City, Trader Vic’s, and White Oak Kitchen.

Reservations, available on Open Table, are recommended: www.opentable.com

And you can find out more, including a discount offer on Downtown hotel rooms, here: www.atlantadowntown.com/fun/restaurant-week

The few restaurants that I attended during previous DRWs now charge the increased $35 rate, and this year their menus are not worth the extra. As I don’t usually order desert, I would rather go another time when I can select from the full menu, and still end up around $35 per head.

DRW’s website is awful! The website does not show the special menu for each restaurant like Inman Park’s Restaurant Weeks offerings.

The menu selections really suck this year! It’s like they are giving us the leftovers for the prix-fixe menu instead of their specialties, which is what I would want to taste. I think Inman and Midtown restaurant weeks have a wider array of options.

Thanks Edward! When I was looking at the website earlier this week, there was no information. Even when I made reservations at White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails, they didn’t even know what their menu was for the special week.

I agree GaPeachy – the options were not great like Inman Park Restaurant Weeks offerings.

I agree. The selections are dreadful. If you are in the mood for a nice meal intown, head to Babette’s Cafe. You don’t need a restaurant week to enjoy a very relaxing mean with a nice intown vibe that is pleasant and not stuffy.
