Local author among winners at James Beard Awards

Among the winners on Friday at the Books, Broadcast and Journalism ceremony of the James Beard Awards: Nathalie Dupree and Atlantan Cynthia Graubert for “Mastering the Art of Southern Cooking” (Gibbs Smith). This comprehensive and engaging book won in the American Cooking category.
Among other winners:
- Cookbook of the Year: Gran Cocina Latina: The Food of Latin America by Maricel E. Presilla (W.W. Norton & Company)
- Publication of the Year: ChopChop (a cooking magazine that teaches children to cook international recipes)
- Outstanding Personality/Host: Andrew Zimmern, Bizarre Foods America, Travel Channel, Producers: Colleen Needles Steward and Andrew Zimmern
