Play Ball: New Tastes at Turner Field

H&F Burger on the big screen

H&F Burger on the big screen

It’s opening day at Turner Field, marking the excitement of a new  Braves baseball season and a new menu from Aramark, the ballpark’s food service company.

Beyond the buzz about H&F’s three burger stands, and the return of the Kevin Rathbun Steak sandwich, there’s more local flavor from Dantanna’s new grill cart serving sesame steak skewers.

Other new tastes include the Home Run Biscuit with maple pork belly and slaw, the beer-battered Boston Pub Dog, the Chipper Jones tribute short rib Yicketty Yamwich, and the Yicketty Yogurt self-serve yogurt and slushie stand.

Last week, the Braves and Aramark hosted a media day tasting event at Turner Field, where H&F chef Linton Hopkins was given a team jersey, and a giant photo of the double-patty H&F cheeseburger was on display up on the center field screen.

A limited number of burgers and fries priced at $12 will be available at each game. But you can reserve your burger with the H&F Burger Ticket Package.

Only 24 H&F Burger packages are available each game, priced at $32, and include a reserved outfield pavilion seat on the H&F Burger Row, and an H&F Burger Pass on commemorative ticket stock, which guarantees an H&F Burger and fries:

Kev, it’d be funny if it wasn’t true.

It’s just the # of packages that are limited to 24. There will be more than 24 burgers each game.

I think the $32 price for the seat and burger/fries is a pretty good deal. I’d get that to take my dad to a game when he visits.

Where is Beef Pocoroba when you need him?

I’d settle for the hot dogs that CostCo sells in their food stand…. Turner Field still can’t touch those.

Pack your patience if you want a burger. Last night the line was about a 1 hour wait to get a burger at the stand closest to Section 100. Consequently, we passed on the burger in favor of actually watching the game, but they sure did smell tasty! The grilled beef aroma permeated the area & wafted into the stands, which I’m sure only added to the long wait.

I think the food lines were long last night because it was opening day.
BTW, did anyone see me fall and hit my head on the concrete last night at the Chophouse?
