Well he’s not really in the kitchen here, so I doubt it’ll make a difference.

Good for Richard. He’ll do really well in the Bay area. Loss for Atlanta….but he’s deserving of bigger things.

East Bay, as in Panama City, Fla.? Maybe he’s going to work for Angelo’s Steak Pit.

remarkable the negative comments in reaction to this. whether Blais and his concepts are your cup of tea is beside the point; he has been a net positive to Atlanta and been of benefit to the community. sad that some people can’t recognize the impact others make just because it’s not in their comfort zone.

I’m a fan of both Flip and HD1, so I hope he remains involved in those restaurants. I found it to be a point of pride when he won the Top Chef competition because of his affiliation with Atlanta…of course I may simply suffer from an incurable case of Southern Inferiority Complex.

I heard this guy on the radio a few weeks ago on WSB. He sounded cool, but Neal Boortz EX (producer) seemed so off the wall in love with him I was expecting the sound of a sliding zipper and moans and groans.

As soon as anybody gets a couple of nickels to rub together and a little name recognition, they are out of this place. Just the way it is…Atlanta will never keep it’s best and brightest, and it will always be a place celebrities are either from or lived at during one point in their life.

All his leaving would mean is that he is done expanding in the Atlanta area . It seems the majority of chefs with his rep have multiple restaurants in multiple towns . I guess it would also mean that you would be able to take his molecular gastronomy cooking class ; )
