Upcoming events: Pi Day, Passover meals and cookbook signings

From cookbooks, to pie, to Passover, there are a number of food events coming up in the next few weeks. Here’s a look at what’s in store.

Buckhead Restaurant Week:  Mar. 9-17

More than 30 Buckhead restaurants will participate in this fourth annual event. Look for $15, $25 and $35 menus at brunch, lunch and dinner during this week.  Participating restaurants include 10 Degrees South, Aria, Anis Bistro, Buckhead Diner, Cook Hall, Seven Lamps, Watershed and Kyma. Pi Day celebration at Pie Shop: Mar. 14

To celebrate Pi Day, Pie Shop will host “Pie-Eyed 2013,” a carnival-style pie celebration. Activities include an amateur pie-baking competition, pie throwing, pie walk, pie-eating contest and a pie prize wheel. 3:14-6:28 p.m. on 3.14. $15 adults, $7 children. Entry comes with two activity vouchers, additional vouchers $3. Purchase tickets online.

Cookbook signing and tasting with Richard Blais: Mar. 25

The Spence will host an evening with Richard Blais featuring samples from his new book “Try This at Home” and wine from restaurant’s collection. Call 404-892-9111 to purchase $35 event tickets by Mar. 8. Books will be available for purchase for $30. 5-7 p.m. Mar. 25.

Passover Seder Dinner at The General Muir: Mar. 25-26

The General Muir will hold a passover seder dinner on the nights of Mar. 25-26. The meal will include items like chopped liver and egg salad, matzoh ball soup, red wine and shallot braised brisket and flourless chocolate almond torte. There will be one 7 p.m. dinner seating each night, so the table is yours for the evening. Let the restaurant know in advance if you plan to conduct a seder during the meal so that it may time the meal accordingly.  $48/$68 with wine pairings. Seder plate optional, $20 (bring your own Haggadahs). Reservations are required by Mar. 20. Call 678-927-9131.

The Lee Bros. Cookbook signing and dinner: Mar. 26

The Optimist will host a dinner and book signing with Matt and Ted Lee as they promote their new book “The Lee Bros. Charleston Kitchen.” Chef Adam Evans will prepare a family-style meal featuring recipes from the book. Dinner will include items like gumbo-filled popovers, deviled crab, salt-baked whole red snapper, hoppin’ John and sorghum silver dollar pancakes. Tickets are available online for $65. Books will be available for $35. 7 p.m. Mar. 26.
