Nothing makes watching Bravo TV’s “Top Chef” more fun than having a local chef to root for. And in Season 10, starting Nov. 7, we’ve got one.
Anthony Gray, executive chef at Southern Art & Bourbon Bar, will represent Atlanta in the upcoming season. The 35-year old chef hails from Macon and has spent time in the Charleston kitchens of High Cotton and Slightly North of Broad. Gray follows in the footsteps of Southern Art’s owner Art Smith by appearing on the competitive cooking show. Smith has competed on “Top Chef Masters” twice and also recently appeared on ABC’s “Time Machine Chefs.”
In a preview video of the upcoming season, Padma Lakshmi describes what to expect, “This season, I think, is back to basics. It’s back to the rudimentary fundamentals of cooking.”
This time around, the show was filmed in Seattle, confirming rumors that surfaced some months back about the new season’s location. Tom Colicchio, Padma Lakshmi, Hugh Acheson and Gail Simmons will return as judges for Season 10 with Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck joining the panel.
Good luck to Chef Gray! Atlanta’s ready for another hometown hero.

With the Top Chef All Star Champion calling Atlanta his hometown, and havin other top Cheftestants hailing from the city, like Kevin Giillispie, perhaps we could be considered as a host city some day.

It would be cool if they chose Atlanta as a host city but given Colicchios relationship
with the city, not sure he would allow that to happen. Someone might ask how is
restaurant is doing.

Tom’s restaurants closed, but I don’t think that would have anything to do with their choice…

Tom’s Craft restaurant just closed down in Dallas, TX too.
I think Atlanta would be a fantastic host city!
Definitely looking forward to the new season of Top Chef. And it’ll be great to have another ATL contestant to root for.

Looks like some good chef and some good not-chefs. Bunch from Texas, none from Seattle…that’s odd. But I’m in love with Gina Keatley. Very hot and a CNN Hero!!

I hope he doesn’t wear flip-flops in the kitchen. Gross.

I’m with you, Grasshopper. Flip-flops are for the beach or pool. Out in town they just look tacky. In a restaurant kitchen? UGH!

Atlanta seems like the logical next choice —- they have hit, in order, SFO, LA, Miami, Chicago, NYC, Vegas, DC, NYC again, Texas and now Seattle. Assuming they don’t hit Portland next, which should also be in the running, I would say that Atlanta probably stands a pretty good chance!
