In a wham-bam double header of mind-blowing press-releasing, I learned that not one, but TWO fast food chains are dropping some ground-breaking new products on their menus. I feel that it is my solemn duty to warn you ahead of time, lest you endanger other drivers on 85 when you glimpse a billboard of these jaw-droppers and your head explodes in traffic.
First up: Wendy’s gives birth to the Son of Baconator!
Because calling it the Baconator Jr. would be too emasculating, Wendy’s has donned the newest addition to their bacon lineup the Son of Baconator.
This not-so-mini bacon cheeseburger tops 4.5 oz of beef patties with four slices of Applewood smoked bacon and two slices of cheese. The SoB is a great alternative for those craving a face-smack of bacon-y goodness with their burger, but with 270 less calories and 20 less grams of fat than the original Baconator. For those keeping track, that means that this little guy packs 700 calories and 43 grams of fat.
Next: KFC’s chicken bites!
In what the press release calls “their biggest product launch since Kentucky Grilled Chicken”, the world’s most popular chicken restaurant introduced something that no other chain, especially every fast-food burger joint in the country, has thought of before: Nuggets!
Ok, technically, they are called Original Recipe Bites. These nuggets are bite-sized pieces of chicken breast breaded up in the Colonel’s Original Recipe blend of 11 herbs and spices, and are available in both six and ten piece portions.
My predictions: Soon, we may even see these chicken nugg…er..bites put into meals specifically geared toward children, possibly with a small toy.

Renounced Wendy’s 30 years ago. Got totally worn out from getting cheese on every order, even when stating up front NO CHEESE. They probably have to restrain themselves from putting cheese in the milkshakes and on the napkins.

Is the legend I’ve heard for years true that WENDY’S uses liver to hold their “100% Pure Beef” hamburger patties together?
I stopped eating there years ago when multiple sources told me that, learning from when either they or their children worked for the company.
I am NOT eating liver, ever, no matter how much bacon you put on it.

If it’s beef liver, then it is still “100% Pure Beef.’

Both new products should be renamed “This is why you and your kids are fat”. Fried. Cheesy. Fat. I’m horrified by the 43 grams of fat in one meal item. That’s ridiculous…

Ooo, I love liver. Liver and onions pan fried for breakfast. Liver is an ingredient in boudin and dirty rice.
A burger made of liver wouldn’t bother me a bit.
(Liver is very high in protein and iron and vitamin A and is very lean.)

The Worm Burgers thing is an Urban Legend. snopes.com is your friend and greatest internet debunking tool.

I have always used coupons, but if I thought the generic was cheaper I would just buy that instead of the smaller name brand size or even samples from Get Official Samples can help

I really like Wendy’s every now and then but if the liver thing is true I may have to stop completely. The liver is what our bodies use to clean themselves and detox, so when you eat an animals liver you may get a few vitamins but mostly you get all the bad icky stuff that is being filtered from the animal.

@GaPeachy, you refer to the liver as if it’s some sort of bodily septic tank. If that was the case, we’d have to get it pumped out every few years as we’re always consuming toxins of some sort. The liver cleans the blood and sends some waste along with bile back to the intestinal tract and other waste to the kidneys thus it’s not a repository for that “bad icky stuff” you referred to… As for the bacon hamburger and the “new” chicken nuggets, everything in moderation… Chefs and foodies in general are some of the worst closet fast food junkies out there…
