Grand Champion BBQ partners with Sweetwater for a good cause

imagesCAYRNTV5Roswell’s Grand Champion BBQ is teaming up with Sweetwater Brewery to throw the first annual Que & Brew on Tuesday, June 26th from 7 p.m.- 10 p.m.

The fundraiser will be held at the Sweetwater Brewery and will benefit Brandon Matos, a graduate from Pope High School in Roswell. Sadly, while on vacation and diving in the ocean, Brandon hit his head an a sandbar and suffered a C1 fracture and C6 rupture to his spinal cord, paralyzing him from the chest down. Matos is currently receiving daily treatment at the Shepard Center in Atlanta. $20 of every ticket will go to Matos and his family to help with his care.

Tickets are $30 to gain entry to the event, and will give guests access to some que care of Grand Champion, brews from Sweetwater, and live music from local bands. Food and beverage prices vary.

For more information, please contact Nicole Massey at Nicole@sweetwaterbrew.com

7 p.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday, June 26th. 195 Ottley Drive, Atlanta. $30

Grand Champion BBQ (love that place) and Pope High School are in East Cobb NEAR Roswell. Just a point of fact.

Sweetwater also is running a “Save the Hooch” promotion at Avondale Pizza (and maybe other restaurants, I don’t know) in which you can sample rare brews and “buy” a fish for the Chattahoochee to improve its environment.
I posted this before but it didn’t show up.

GC has a Roswell address only because Mail comes from Roswell 30075 post office but it’s not actually located in the city of Roswell. Roswell does not cross into Cobb County.

For those in the dark, ZIP codes do not care about City Boundary’s or County lines.

Mr. Watson, you can’t call anything “first annual” until after the second one occurs a year later.

I will be there, had GC cater a group meal this weekend – excellent pork and even better brisket. Day dreaming right now of their Mac & Cheese. YUM!

Ehhhh……Sweetwater’s brews are mediocre at best and their greed and arrogance is annoying. Never had the Grand Champion. And this person this is for? Without sounding like a d bag, what puts them to the top of the list? There are LOTS of others that could utilize charity such as this……Why them and not someone else?
