Wasabi Grill in Atlanta recently failed to maintain its A-level food safety standards, according to reports.

The restaurant that prides itself on Japanese and Korean foods scored a 51 (U), dropping well below the 95 (A) it achieved last July. The violations lead to a host of notations from the inspector, including it must “provide employee health policy,” “sanitize ice machine,” “clean inside coolers [and] refrigerators, and outside microwaves,” “clean kitchen area; repair shelves,” and “remove cloths [and] shoes from food area.”

The inspector also advised that the person in charge must be knowledgeable for Georgia food safety guidelines. When asked about retraining procedures, the supervisor declined comment.

In reporting the citations related directly to food preparation included, the inspector advised Wasabi to “separate pork, beef, chicken according to final cook temperatures,” and “provide parasite destruction records for sushi.”

All of the violations were reported a new, and the restaurant, located at 398 14th St., faces a follow-up inspection that is initially scheduled for Friday.
