Now that the weather is once again tolerable, we are entering the season of the food truck. The food truck lineup has swelled since last year, with at least three new trucks being added in the last month or so.
Banged Up and Mashed
Back in January, the rolling British pub-grub truck Banged Up and Mashed launched, giving fans of Yorkshire pudding and fish and chips a new source for the oft-derided UK cuisine. Regulars at Churchill’s Pub in Buckhead will find the truck parked out front every Friday and Saturday night slinging bangers and mash (pork sausage, mashed potatoes, and gravy) and Chicken Tikka Masala (yes, it is an Indian dish, but wildly popular in Britain). You can follow them on Facebook, or their homepage to keep up with locations and specials.
Rouxd Food Truck
Originally slated to start rolling out on March 22nd, the Rouxd Food Truck’s opening got pushed out to this Thursday 4/12 for their inaugural run. The part Jamaican, part Cajun food truck plans to fill your gullet with fried meat pies with the occasional side of rice and beans. Though there aren’t any real updates on there yet, you can keep up with them on Facebook or Twitter to find out where the Rouxd Krewe will be next.
The Dessert Pusher
Once you are done stuffing your face with tacos, or meat pies, or fish and chips, hopefully you saved some room for dessert. The Dessert Pusher is selling all sweets, all the time. Pastry chef Aisha Cheeks debuted the rolling confectionery this week, with a menu full of treats like fig and mascarpone bread pudding, salted caramel brownies, and homemade whoopee pies. Cheeks also welcomes patron suggestions for the menu, so check out her homepage, Facebook, or Twitter account for updates and to voice your opinion on what your sweet tooth craves.
