Coming Soon: Chick-fil-A spicy chicken biscuit

I love the taste of cayenne in the morning.

As some of you may remember, Chick-fil-A rolled out their long awaited chicken sandwich earlier this year. Regardless of what you thought of the sandwich, there is no denying that the marketing campaign- including online reservations for a free sandwich the week before the release – got people talking.

Among the most common reactions that I heard – right after that person told me how they thought it compared to Wendy’s – was to express confusion/frustration over the whereabouts of the spicy nuggets and/or biscuit. Of course, why would Cathy and Co. just have one new product release when they could have three? As John K. reported during his visit to the company headquarters, the popular chicken biscuit was already on deck for the next spicy makeover.

Well, phase II is about to begin.

Starting Dec 27th, customers can log onto their website and make a reservation at their local Chick-fil-A to pick up a complimentary spicy chicken biscuit between Jan. 3rd-7th. And starting Jan. 10th, they will let you come in and buy one.

Given that fast food breakfast is one of my many vices, I’m sure that I’ll make a reservation and try it out. However, having had the sandwich, I can’t help but wonder if the spicy breading might be a little intense at 7 A.M. for most people. It’ll probably be right up my alley – most of my chicken biscuits get a healthy dose of Texas Pete’s or sriracha anyway – but I could see the cayenne based seasoning turning some consumers off first thing in the morning.

What do you think? Will you line up for a little capsaicin with your coffee?

I have already tried the spicy chicken biscuit while in Jacksonville, FL over Memorial Day weekend. It is very good and does have a little heat like the spicy chicken sandwich. I just wish that Chick-Fil-A would improve their actual biscuits in conjunction with this new item. Not sure what they can do, but it seems like its missing something.

I love the spicy sandwich, and i love the chicken biscuit. Will be interesting to try, but I imagine I’ll stick with regular for breakfast, spicy when i go for lunch.

Brittany — agreed on the biscuit!

I agree with Jonny. Also, hopefully they will tone down the salt. I don’t want to start my day with a sodium bomb.

I’m sorry. I’m a purist. I want the Original Sandwich (with those two pickle slices that I always remove – I like the flavor, just not the pickle) and the Original Biscuit.

Don’t want no minis, no spicy, no cheese, nothing. :)

Tried the “spicy” chicken sandwich, that was a joke..All they did was color it red and called it spicy..It reminded me of BK’s spicy chicken..Like Brittany, they need to improve on their biscuits..

Chick-Fil-La will take over the planet as part of the new world order orchrestrated by the Cathy Family and Colonel Sanders. They meet yearly at an underground bunker in Colorado to discuss how this whole operaton will unveil itself to the world and it’s “leaders”. You will all bear the number of the beast *cow*. Mines is a number 1 with excra pickles and a coke. Bow down and gets it. Awwww-Jeah!!!

You guys are crazy… I always get extra pickles on my sandwiches. ;) And I love the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It has become my favorite fastfood sandwich. I love Chick-Fil-A’s breakfast a lot too. can’t wait for the spicy biscuit.

The Spicy Chicken Sandwich is were its at. I get mine with pepper jack cheese and ask for ranch dipping cups. I’ve only had one CFA sandwich since the Spicy one came out. I used to loved Wendy’s Spicy Chicken, but this is so much better. Soooo good!! I’m curious about trying the biscuit, but wonder how good that can be on a biscuit. Personally, I get my biscuits with egg and cheese. That’s soooo good!!

I prefer the chicken breakfast burrito (comes with cheese, onions and peppers) for breakfast and I think it would be FANTASTIC with the spicy chicken. I wonder if they will let me do that… :D

I like the spicy chicken sandwich minus the cheese and the pickles. I will pass on the spicy chicken biscuit. A spicy chicken biscuit and coffee is not Kosher.

I liked the Spicy Chicken sandwich until I went to a no-name local food stall in a nondescript supermarket in Jiuting China and got a spicy chicken sandwich that beat Chick-Fil-A or anyone else hands-down. Amazing! I’ll try this biscuit, though. I do love some Chick-Fil-A.

Long time CFA lover… even worked there as a teenager and got a $1000 for college… Great company! Love spicy food but don’t care for the spicy sandwich. I think the biscuit will be just right… I also agree with the previous poster that their biscuits are hit and miss… Biscuits are a hard thing to get right in the South because so many people were raised with so many different types… I like mine almost hard on the outside and soft in the middle with just a little rise… Some these things that they try to call biscuits are rolls.

Best breakfast place for biscuit is Bojangles! They have the best in biscuits and chicken (whether it is not or not) it is all good! And the prices are a lot better than CFA.

I already am signed up for several Chick-Fil-A promotions using various email addresses I use just for promotional materials (I have special email addresses I just make up just for promotions – no personal emails). They (and other restaurants) send me free coupons all the time and I can eat there a couple times a month for free with no problem. Take advantage of their “receipt day” and anything you but that day, bring your receipt back any day in the following month and you get everything on the receipt for free. When you visit on “receipt day” to make your purchase, save your receipt of course for next month and while you are there, just pick up a receipt or two or three people leave behind on the table, or just ask for their receipt and redeem it next month. The redeemable receipts are colored (this month they are yellow). Walk in the following month with your properly colored receipt, present it, redeem it and eat. No questions asked. You can eat free Chick-Fil-A until it (perhaps) comes out your ears.
I have not paid for anything from Chick-Fil-A in probably 6 months, and eat there at least one a week (3 sandwiches, fries and big drink). I could eat there more often for free if I felt like it. Cost: $0.

Compare to the Bojangles and KFC biscuits, how much fat and sodium are in each? I ate a Church’s biscuit once and became quite ill. I still can’t eat Church’s food to this day.Krystal’s either. i have few problems with KFC or CFA.

A place that serves food is required by law to post in plain site their health rating score (0-100). Some sit down type places like to post their score sheet on the way out (but it is posted!). If you go to a drive-thru, they have to post it even at the drive-thru. Next time you go somewhere, check the score before you dine. Chick-Fil-A near me is always, always, always 100. I don’t frequent places that are less than 95 and 85 is as low as I will ever go (but no voluntarily) . Bojangles last I was in was 87. KFC down the street is 83. Not very good, so I don’t go back. I quit Krystal and Church’s a l-o-o-n-g time ago, but still feel the need once a year or so for a half dozen square cheese burgers. In the next year or so, these health scores will be available in the Internet for your viewing pleasure.

…that is if you think you are getting ill from the restaurant food.

I meant “sight”, not site.

Here in Baltimore, we are already enjoying the Spicy Chicken Biscuit (and also Spicy Chicken Nuggets) at Maryland Chick-Fil-a restaurants. I can’t wait for both to go national, as both have that same kick as the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Haven’t seen Spicy Strips, yet, but I’m hoping we get them first in Baltimore.
