Atlantic Station
One of my favorite meals is the stolen lunch. Not “stolen” in that I run out without paying the check, but rather a stolen moment to sit by myself and indulge in a special treat. It might be a great crab cake, or a steak or a dozen oysters. It might include a glass of wine or a dessert.
I don’t do this very often, but when I do it’s usually combined with a shopping expedition. You usually don’t have to go far in any direction from a shopping mall to find a nice steakhouse or raw bar.
Does anyone else enjoy the solo lunch splurge once in a while? If so, where do you go?

Brasserie Le Coze used to be the best place for the stolen lunch. In it’s place Twist or Prime are decent alternatives.

I often go to Buford Hwy to enjoy Pho, Korean or Chinese by myself. Saturday I explored the H Mart off of P’tree Industrial (WOW–what great produce) and had a pretty good bowl of Spicy Seafood Noodle soup and a steamed scallion, pork bun all for $8!

Taqueria del Sol in Decatur, 2 fish tacos and a side of jalapeno coleslaw, at the bar. I’m not a fan of the rushed service for dinner, but for a solo “stolen” lunch, it’s perfect.

I go to Social, downtown for the most wonderful mussels and wine. I eat them all, so by dining alone, I don’t have to feel guilty for not sharing.

I once enjoyed a stolen lunch at JCT Kitchen. I had their grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. It was delicious!!

I’m in agreement with Elle, Social Resto is a great is great for lunch; solo diners won’t feel awkward there. A lunch splurge? Most definitely La Pietra Cucina. One of my favorite Italian restaurants.

I like the Peachtree Centered food court the best. Sometimes I get free samples and then I walk aroun the block and come back and get one again. An sometimes If i have the money I will go to the oreental food place and get some egg roles. Then I like to sit and be warm and dry and eat egg roles and it remind me of when my baby girl Michelle use to like to eat at the Panda Bear express all the time. Then she is gone now and I cry and sometimes people don’t know why I’m crying in the food court when I eat my egg role but I know that they don’t understand. I miss her so much. It really make me sad when at christmas they play songs. Her favorite was Rudolf the red nose raindeer. One time the security ask me to leave but I just cry then he realize I was not there to cause trouble and he gave me back my egg role. I know god work in misterious ways but what did she ever do? Nothing. But I still no that he no best. Marry Christmas.
