Can anyone guess what iconic Easter treat this is, and what was done to it?

Hopefully these were free range Peeps, interesting sidebar John. Click the link you provided and one of the tabs at the top was labeled ‘A hamburger today’. It opens with a picture and description of a burger at Bark Hot Dogs in Brooklyn. Truly a wonderful, greasy, hole in the wall with wonderful, inexpensive burgers and beer. Went there after the NYC Marathon and was blown away. Check it out!

deep fried peep? Oh yuck… And it doesn’t even look like a Yellow one, the ONLY one that should be allowed to exist but there I go again.

What’s wrong with non-yellow peeps? I mean, besides the fact they are peeps and peeps are vile?
Unless you microwave them, of course, at which point they become more entertaining and tastier.
