There’s some serious food-porn love given to Flip Burger Boutique on the influential A Hamburger Today blog on Serious Eats.
The Westside restaurant, which is owned by chef Richard Blais and Barry Mills, got high marks for the milkshakes, fries and concept. The burgers themselves were all deemed very tasty even though not a one was cooked as ordered.
More than anything, though, this post is notable for its googly-eyed, close-up shots of juicy ground meat.

The media fascination with this place is mind boggling. The reviewers even acknowledge that not one burger was cooked as ordered. The place is loud, the service lousy, the menu limited (yes, limited: any boutique burger joint should have bison) and the food, the heavily priced food, doesn’t even measure up to Five Guys.
The only 5-star thing about “Flip” is their publicist. He/she must be the world’s best.
Flip should be skipped.

Ya lost me at 5 guys allen lol. 5 guys is nothing more (IMHO) than an overpriced Steak and shake. 10 bucks for what I call grill scrapings, and they call a patty, fries and a drink are a bit much…………..
Talk about a publicist, steal the S&K burgers and triple charge you…………

Went there this past Sat. with my 24 year son. Sat at the bar…very uncomfortable seating. Very unfriendly server. Packed house. Coke was kinda flat tasting. Onion rings were good. Turkey burger had the consistency of meatloaf…OK at best. Shrimp burger was good. Dont get a seat at the counter.

A Hamburger Today is a great food blog. Entertaining and informative. I use it as a reference whenever I travel to the northeast. Check out their Big Mac review

FLIP is one of my favorite restaurants! The atmosphere is great, the burgers are great. Try the rutabaga fries. The milkshakes are great and get the liquid nitrogen on them or on your martini. 5 Guys hamburgers are better? A chain restaurant is better than this? You have to be kidding.

I’ve only been there once but I fell in love with the Nutella milkshake. The bartender was telling us about the fois gras milkshake, but I’m not that adventurous.

FLIP is for the REAL TRUE Gourmet!
Tell me you don’t go to FIVE Guys for its quiet comfortable seating and their delicious milk shakes. Oh that’s right, FIVE Guy’s has hard seating, loud venue, no atmosphere, 2 burger choices (with or without cheese), and NO milk shakes. You can say, I flipped over FLIP!!!

The rBQ burger was by far the best burger I have ever had. And the nutella milkshake is one I will dream about for years. Skip the fries though – save the calories for the milkshake. So worth it!!!!
